Growing up in New England, during the winter when we wore boots, we'd use plastic bags (instead of the aluminum foil in the video) to help insulate our feet from the cold. Also, to help break up ice on the car windows, just put the heater on low-to-medium when you have the car warming up - it will soften/melt the ice enough that it will wipe away easily with the aid of an ice scraper (which I always kept in my car) - so no needing to use/waste your hot coffee to try and melt it.

Maine resident my entire life also we wud use bread bags over our socks and our feet literally never got wet or cold for hours. Rubbing alcohol works great to clear ice from car windows also.

The pipe of the faucet could have been heated up with candles, but the drips of the melted candles creates another mess.
Yeah, snow could have been wiped off by the socks, so, she's left with cold feet which results in colds 🥴
