Thank you, as I'm sure you've seen in the other comments, this was incredibly hard to find. I really appreciate this being so straight forward, directed to solving the problem. :)
I successfully fixed my shift key! A small amount of tea or water was spilled on the shift key, causing the spring to rust and the key to get stuck. I cleaned off the rust and reassembled the key. It works perfectly now. Thank you!
God bless you. Replacing my spacebar was an impossible task before this video, I couldn't find why it was so wobbly as my room is dark and I couldn't see the notches. Thank you so very, very , very much
While the keyboard was different it let me know they were in fact replaceable which inspired me to try again from a different perspective thank you very much
Thank you, thank you, thank you, for physically showing how to insert those confounded wires under the computer keys! Everybody I checked with and the internet did not understand how to deal with those wires. With your instructions, I discovered I accidently had two wires to insert from two different keys that confused me. Again thank you for all of your effort! :)
we should appreciate what she accomplished with one hand what many can't do with both hands. thanks. also show in the next video how to remove the big ones safely without breaking them.
Definitely appreciated. I didn't know the shift key had that thing under it. Was fixing a keyboard at work that got oil all over it ripping the keys out then that metal thing fell out I tried just putting it back the way I thought it would but had to look it up and thank you.
2022, bless you because one of my keys fell out when my keyboard fell on the ground, and I couldn't figure out how to get the key back on properly! Now my zero numpad key is working again :D
Took apart my keyboard for some gunk and for the life of me couldn't figure out where the metal thing was supposed to go. Granted, mine was a bit more complicated but this helped. Thanks :) Oh I should add in case someone else has the same issue. Well, my metal clip had to go into two tiny plastic tabs that were themselves inserted into the keyboard.
Thanks for showing the wire on the Shift key, it helped me fix the left Shift key on an Asus GX800VH-XS79K that seemed to have been assembled improperly (it was rubbing against the edge of the keyboard surround). The left Shift key still feels a bit like the plastic is not moving smoothly but at least now with the bar positioned the key is staying lined up properly and feels like it's going up and down properly now. Yay!
This saved my life, my conure ripped it off and I has a heart attack cause it’s my school computer so any damage you have to pay for. I’m sitting there like wth, and he’s still chewing on it, so thanks!
Thanks a lot. I tried to put the key on the metal thing by having the metal thingy on the keyboard and tried to put the key on the thing at right position but never worked. The moment i put it on the key and put the key on board, it worked instantly.
Thanky SO MUCH. I've been struggling with these for eons. On a side note - it turns out Logitech's K120 keyboard is washable. When dirty I immerse it for a day in water with a bit of dish soap for a day but leave the usb connector dry, rinse thoroughly , let dry for 2 weeks. I now use 2 keyboards alternatively.
Wow, I’ve never heard of a washable keyboard. Great idea, but two weeks is a long drying time unless you live in a humid area. 🤷🏻♀️ Glad this helped you!😀✨
@@tarynesstudio I'm not sure it take 2 weeks, but I don't want to risk operating while wet, so I have to have another keyboard. And yes. Israel is very humid in the summer. In July and August it's like walking through soup.
Watch the video around 2:15 to see how to put the metal strip back in, my big keys like enter, shift 0 were not working, once i did that, everything worked.
turns out part of the plastic on the bottom of my backspace key broke. so it wont fit in properly. I dont really mind because I've gotten used to erasing by pressing the little rubber membrane. This video helped a lot however
can someone please help me? i cleaned my keyboard, but i lost one of those metal wires and now the keyboard has its lights on but doesn’t type anymore. could this be because of the missing wire?
Those "wired things" are called stabilizers, they are there to balance larger keys, so that when you press the keys from the left or right side it doesn't pop up the other side, its also to reduce rattling. Nice vid anyways definitely helped! Thank you! :)
They probably make the key bounce back after being pressed when used. I can’t remember since I filmed this so long ago and don’t have the keyboard anymore.
This is 2020 and you helped me clean my keyboard. Thank you very much!
Great! Happy to hear that! And that this old video is still helping people!
Same for me it's 2023 now lol haha thank you. This video was very helpful!!
Yay!
Thank you, as I'm sure you've seen in the other comments, this was incredibly hard to find. I really appreciate this being so straight forward, directed to solving the problem. :)
So glad the video helped you! Thanks for letting me know. 😀
This is precisely what I needed, thank you. Also, you have a positively mesmerizing voice.
Happy to help, and thank you! ☺
The only reason you’re here is because you just slammed your keyboard and now your trying to figure out what those metal things are lol
You are a life saver. Shift key came off of keyboard and couldn't figure out why it had lost it's spring when I replaced it. Thanks!
So glad you found the information you needed to fix it!

This video was more than 2 years ago, but wow this was really helpful!! My shift key finally isn't broken as heck!!
Success!! Congrats!! 😀
Thanks for the information about the wire bit. All back in working order again. Most helpful.

+Bertie Nelson I'm so glad this helped you! Thank you for letting me know that it did!

So it's may 2021 and this is the only video/guide on the f... Ing Internet about returning the keycaps with metal support... Great job
Definitely appreciated. I didn't know the shift key had that thing under it. Was fixing a keyboard at work that got oil all over it ripping the keys out then that metal thing fell out I tried just putting it back the way I thought it would but had to look it up and thank you.

This is the most ASMR geeky video I've ever seen. Your voice is so ridiculously soothing.
I'm unfamiliar with ASMR territory, but thank you.
Thank you! Spilled coffee on my keyboard and this was a lifesaver.
Thank you so much - I took mine out and didn't know how to configure the metal piece to put it back in!
Glad I could help!
this is the video that helped me out when it comes to those wires
This was all I was searching for....
Thank you so much...I almost thought I broke my keyboard.
Thanks for this informative video, Taryn. You gave me the confidence to replace my Shift key.
Thanks. I had no clue where that metal spring clip thing went back. This helped me figure it out.
This video helped me fix my keyboard. Helpful video til thus very day
awesome - just what I needed. and I only had to watch half the video. Thanks!
Perfect! Glad it helped!
Honestly ur a godsend, just had to clean mine thanks to a coffee spill! Thank you!
Yikes! Hope it’s working ok now. 😀
Took apart my keyboard for some gunk and for the life of me couldn't figure out where the metal thing was supposed to go. Granted, mine was a bit more complicated but this helped. Thanks :)

Same, my enter key is a nightmare because of this.
This is both useful and unintentional ASMR xD
GIRLS YOU'RE A GENIUS I LOVE YOU SO MUCH I FIXED MY SPACE KEY THANKS TO YOU
I was playing around with this for a while, trying to get the metal piece in at the same time as the key itself, thanks a lot for this!
You're welcome!

This saved my life, my conure ripped it off and I has a heart attack cause it’s my school computer so any damage you have to pay for. I’m sitting there like wth, and he’s still chewing on it, so thanks!
OMG! That’s quite a story!! 😀✨
Thank you for the video. I was putting the metal part wrong on the big keys. Thanks to your video that issue got solved. Thank you once again.

After 15 videos I have finally found how to "assemble" back the backspace keycap with a stabilizer! Thank you very very much for this!

Cannot believe this video is 11 years old
For my 120k keyboard, I believe your suppose to put the metal bar in they keyboard first, then the button. It seem to be design that way

So happy to hear that!! Good job!
Thank you! A bloody life-saver.
Thanky SO MUCH. I've been struggling with these for eons.
