The Survival Cast ace spec can be used on Ogerpon to allow her to survive any one hit and then use the Wrathful Hearth attack from the Hearthflame Mask version to hit for 400 damage. Since it has two colorless in its attack cost this might be the best way to get some use out of the Hearthflame Mask version on a full Ogerpon-ex deck. I know Lost Vacuum is still in the format, but maybe you can use this against non-Arven decks after hitting them with an Iono to give them less chances to get rid of the Survival Cast. And that ace spec might also be good for the Ogerpons in general, with them being so squishy per se. It is a bit like the old combo of Endure + Reversal from the videogames.
Between this set and the one that comes this week. Two epic sets in a row with spectacular cards. It's a good time to be a TGC fan.
I was a VGC player for the last 10 year's. Got into the TCG during the pandemic. And so thankful I did. Got burnt out of VGC massively.
GreninjaEX and GarchompEX. GarchompEX is one of my favorite cards and deck to play. I have faith it will become a S tier deck with the right support. Greninja may be fun to play with it.
I think ogerpon has potential, but mainly because of wellspring and cornerstone. Grass is great against Charizard, yeah, but the deck needs to be good over all, not just against one specific threat. A interesting tool box system, can't wait to mess around with it

I feel like I've been sleeping on these 1st Impressions videos. I've watched them occasionally, but I usually think I'll just wait for the _main_ card review video. But these are just _even more_ reviews, and what's not to love about that, 😍
been thinking about combining iron thorns ex with ting lu ex, throwing whichever is more relevant in the active while you dino cry / do other things to power them up - probably clunky but seems cool
Munkidori in Gardevoir is certainly something I want to try, helps fix your offset damage counters on drifloon to hit 330 with a bravery charm while spreading 30 elsewhere meaning its easier to take out the big pokemon in the format while also setting up a potential extra KO on a low hp basic after a few turns of munkidori. Might also free up the Ace spec for stamp/aroma instead of cape.
Munkidori and Okidogie both also seem amazing in GLC. Okidogi is pretty obvious but Munkidori combos so well with Giratina for psychic decks.
I know it's an overdone/taboo topic, but even as someone who's kept up with the game over the years it's so hard to wrap my head around a 230 HP one prize basic not being ludicrous, as well as anything hitting 170 for one with unrestricted search. Also some great art here, the Ariados, Vulpix, and Eeveelutions particularly.

Mask of change has 101 cards so we’re missing a lot. Maybe we’ll get the other single prize ogrepons in this set. The next Japanese set night wanderer is another teal mask set so it could have more single prize ogrepons with additional support for the mechanic too and the loyal three ex’s.

@@patrickbenson3522the other ogrepon single prizers could have text that fit with the ogre deck archetype. It’s important for most decks to have some single prize options and support Pokémon.
@@patrickbenson3522The other 3 single prize ogrepon’s (Fight, Fire, Water) and maybe their alternate typing cards in the future as all 4 grass types could have abillity or attack effects that fit with ogre decks.

we all know joe is a fan of these all basic decks, but i think the ogerpon deck is just trying to do too much at once to be consistent. would love to be proven wrong, tho. the concept is cheeky. also glad to see another solid basic attacker for gardevoir in the fezendipiti
I think the ogerpon deck likes to play basic grass with luminous energy, rather than other basic energies
Also a great option but when we have vessel a low count of basic energy is an easy include!
@@OmniPoke true, but with luminous energy it opens up a certain combo: teal mask into cornerstone mask to wall against certain decks. The opponent has to play around it and has to 2shot it. Then you switch into fire mask and 1shot something with the first attack. With luminous instead of fire energy this is much easier to pull off and probably the go to against a lot of ability reliant attacker decks. And probably the only use for fire mask ogerpon, but very powerful
Genuinely speaking, if Iron Hands wasn't a $25 card right now, I'd totally be all over the new Iron Leaves and Iron Thorns. (That and Iron Crown pre-order is also $25 a piece, holy fuck I thought this game was meant to be AFFORDABLE!) Otherwise, Ursaluna looks scary af, Unfair Stamp is literally just Roxanne that's on an Item and forcibly limited to 1 (most people only played 1 Roxanne anyway.) Aroma is cracked af in one of my decks. Lana looks potentially great, Perrin can PLAUSIBLY unbrick hands without forcing discards, I like both Kieran and Carmine... And that's about it.
Let’s let the set come out before worrying about new card prices 😅
@@OmniPoke Oh, believe me, I'd love to. But I know how bad Canadian card prices can be. Unlike the US or UK, we don't have a site like TCGPlayer or CardMarket. Thus, easily obtaining singles is a nightmare both in price and stock.
