- You've all heard and seen the news about the bush fires here in Australia, a country I love so much I call it my second home...... up to a BILLION wildlife have died, plus the countless homes and human lives lost. This has shocked and devastated me to my core. I spent my first week in Byron Bay, untouched by the reality of it all, but as I headed to Sydney it really hit home and me and my friend thought it best to cancel our travel plans to go South. So, on a lighter note, here are a few highlights from my first week in Byron and if you feel moved to send any aid, however small, I know it will be much appreciated so they can save a few more animals: www.wires.org.au/

I am catching up on past videos and haven't come across a bad one yet. We learn so much from you Suzi.
Oh Dolores what a lovely message, thank you so much. x
Greetings from Australia...Byron Bay is great l am from the Gold Coast stuck in Victoria at the moment can't wait to get back hope you enjoyed it .....
Thank you so much .👍👍
Glad you enjoyed x
This one made me sooooo homesick. I'm from Sydney, Australia living in California. (My dad was a lifesaver at Coogee Beach for 50 years! We scattered our parents ashes at Wedding Cake Island) My sister and a bunch of my rellies live not far from Byron. I was there 2018 and I was all set to fly home last year again, right before the world shut down. Miss my beautiful beaches, sharks and all, lol!
How are you doing?😊
Hi Suzi, thank you for your beautiful comment. It's wonderful that your father was a lifesaver. I hope you get back to Australia as soon as you can, I miss it so much!
I have cousin in Sydney. Friends in Brisbane,Melbourne and Perth.
Miss Australia so much! Hope to visit again. Will keep Byron Bay in mind.
Aww, Australia is such a lovely county. Hope you enjoy a visit xx
Very lovely holiday place ,
thanks for filming the beaches and explaining as you went around
Loved your holiday accommodation.👏
How are you doing?😊
Hi from Kazakhstan. Suzi I enjoyed your video. As for disaster I 'm so sorry for people suffered in bush fires, killed thousands of animals, burnt bush, forest and parks. Bakyt xxx
Just found your channel, so I’m watching some older ones, and I wanted to comment about your “Merry Christmas” video, but for some reason, it’s got an ad for the kids’ UA-cam, and won’t allow comments. Just wanted to say that the music you added was wonderful, the shops were delightful, and that I loved the window art. It appears sadly ironic that an unused Church was being used to sell Christmas “baubles”. ❤️ from San Diego.🌴
How very odd about the Comments! So glad you enjoyed the music and the Christmas vid! Love from Brighton. x
So sorry for all the destruction caused by the fires in Australia. I've been near a few and know the smell of the fires that come in with the winds. My best to all those affected by the fires..
it's awful. but I am back in my bubble in Byron Bay now - so far so good! x
Another fantastic and interesting vlog/video. I watched your videos every free minute today ❤️❤️ I'm hooked!
Thank you Anna! So pleased you are enjoying the vids x
Thank you for the video. I have spent a lot of time in Suffolk Park. I did my yoga teacher training there, but have never stayed at Byron on Byron so it was lovely to have a tour 🥰
How are you doing?😊
Solo nice!! I would love to be there too.
Hi from an Aussie ! Horrific bushfires , horrific loss of wildlife . Xx
It's absolutely devastating. Hard to "holiday" with a billion animals dead and the survivors starving. Thank God for the generosity of people. x
The Byron Bay residents who moved there 10 years ago are complaining that those who’ve moved in since, have ‘changed the atmosphere’, and not for the best (according to them).
I know, I've heard from friends. Still can;t wait to get back to my spiritual home. I've been staying there every year for as long as possible, sometimes months, for the last 10 years. x
Found you . Oh yes News Years is a bit much in Byron . I avoid it these days . Tallows is wonderful for walking . I never go out far , swimming there . It’s a popular surf beach . Good Surf beaches aren’t best for swimming usually . Yes be careful , we do have snakes xxx
I don't swim there but I love the walks, Tallows is the best! I do swim in the tea tree lake - a lot! I know all about the snakes having been there for months every year for a decade! Only seen a brown once, thank heavens. I suspect they'll all be pushed out by the humans even more now! I love NYE in Byron because Rick Fenn and his wife are good friends and he always plays at the Golfie with his band the Feramones. So I get to see all my mates in one go when I arrive. But I can't cope with Byron thru January anymore sure you agree....those crowds, that traffic! It'll be even worse now. Do let me know if the Thai massage next to Cheeky Monkeys is going to disappear 'cause it seems a lot is being developed by rich Sydney folk - restaurants and hotels etc. So nice to have another local to talk to. xx
@@AlternativeAgeing it’s a great band . I thought you meant going into the town and the beach front on NYS . I haven’t been to any live music in some time .
Wow you must feel like a local after all this time .
I moved away for 7 years . When I returned many had left .
The snakes won’t worry about the people I doubt . Haven’t noticed this massage spot . Things are changing rapidly . Old businesses folding and new ones popping up xxx
Where Jack. Sorry I’m new to your utube and I’m binge watching. Really enjoying it.
How are you doing?😊
