Following CC from Iowa, I was new to the W, but I noticed the rigged officiating from the start. In an early game between Fever and Mercury, Mercury got 27 points in free throws, a THIRD of their final score. That is CRAZY! If you so mutch as raised an arm anywhere near Griner she got a whistle. And we all know how they have been blind to the most obvious fouls on Clarke, even right in front of them! The refs are shameless, and if they are not taking kickbacks, I would be VERY surprised.

They gave the lynx game 4 to make the series go 5. Remember the investors are upset about the $40 million loss they are taking. It is so embarrassingly obvious.
What surprises me more is that you are just learning that the games are rigged. This is exactly what we saw in almost every fever game and specially in that first playoff series of the fever. Having watched basketball for 70 years, the officiating in this league is beyond atrocious. Why the WNBA does not have replay on contested out of bounds is beyond me as every other league has it. That in a marquee game not only do you serve up this drek, the two stars on the ultimately winning team completely cough it up. It is very hard to take the WNBA seriously when the level of professionalism is so low and it looks Mickey Mouse on its biggest stage. This was the most blatantly rigged game at the professional level I have ever seen. There is no other explanation for a 25 - 8 free throw count than the game was being rigged by the referees. The Stewie play that tied the game from the line is was a great example. What is an illegal guarding position. Smith was stationary with both arms up. I hope there is some clarification given post game. It would be hilarious to hear that explanantion attempt.

There is no way the NY Liberty could have won that game with Stewart and Ionescu being combined for 5-34 and 1-13 from 3 without the ref's biased officiating against the Lynx!!! NY - 21-25ft ML - 7-8ft This game had to be RIGGED in one way shape or form! That's a 14 point difference in made free throws if you just count free throw attempts it's a 17 point difference! The foul on Stewie at the end of regular time was pure BS. Ryan and Rebecca showed a behind the hoop view that showed that the Lynx player clearly got the ball not the arm. When it was challenged didnt the refs see that view? They turned down Reeve's challenge and gave Stewie free throws that she didn't deserve. The game itself was not very good with very poor outside shooting, missed layups and sloppiness by both teams. In the second half you could see the Lynx losing some of the composure that they showed in the first half.
Dude you have to watch Coach Reeves in the press conference. She really let the refs have it. She’s going to get fined so hard but it was worth it. She stands by her players and it’s great to see.
I am not a fan of either team but looking at the free throw shooting disparity looks bad. This is the same thing in the Fever vs. Sun game. The WNBA needs to cleans this up.
Holy hell. This game just set the WNBA back a decade. It was unwatchable for the most part. The so called “physicality” of the game has resulted in almost zero freedom of movement for the players leading to awful spectacles as we witnessed tonight. It was an embarrassment for the league.

Players and coaches can see pretty quickly who the refs will favor for the win. The team being favored turns their defense to prison yard basketball. In essence, the players know they can openly mug the opposition. And sorry to say, the players go along with the cheating. Stepping back one has to ask about the fouls if these professionals ever learned the rules as they don't bother to follow them. They know the rules, but the refs have given the Liberty in this case permission to ignore them.

Just like the second Connecticut-Fever game, similar free throw discrepancy and the more aggressive team had 2-3x the number of free throws. Either WNBA tries to decide in advance which team gets to win or the refs are being bought off by home teams or they are engaged in betting.

We all saw the replay of the most important play of the season, it wasn't a foul. They reviewed it, didn't see a foul, and still called it a foul. Show me anything close to that in game four.

This game had to be RIGGED in one way shape or form! That's a 14 point difference in made free throws if you just count free throw attempts it's a 17 point difference! Disgusting officiating
The foul on Stewie at the end of regular time was pure BS. Ryan and Rebecca showed a behind the hoop view that showed that the Lynx player clearly got the ball not the arm. When it was challenged didnt the refs see that view? They turned down Reeve's challenge and gave Stewie free throws that she didn't deserve. The game itself was not very good with very poor outside shooting, missed layups and sloppiness by both teams. In the second half you could see the Lynx losing some of the composure that they showed in the first half.
What the hell is a "legal guarding position?"
Dude you have to watch Coach Reeves in the press conference. She really let the refs have it. She’s going to get fined so hard but it was worth it. She stands by her players and it’s great to see.
They "disrespected the game of basketball", and fans with eyes.

I am not a fan of either team but looking at the free throw shooting disparity looks bad. This is the same thing in the Fever vs. Sun game. The WNBA needs to cleans this up.
Holy hell. This game just set the WNBA back a decade. It was unwatchable for the most part. The so called “physicality” of the game has resulted in almost zero freedom of movement for the players leading to awful spectacles as we witnessed tonight. It was an embarrassment for the league.

I knew this. I couldn’t watch because at work, so as soon as I saw the score stall at 60-60 and a timeout, I knew the fix was in motion with foul calls. How bad is it, that we don’t even need to watch anymore while accurately predicting their moves? They wanted a NY win in NY.
The referees were 1000% on “ The Take “ !!! That means some huge betting syndicate influenced their officiating !!! When that referee UPHELD that none foul against Breanna 😮 I fell out of my chair !!!

It's a shame because CC created such a buzz around it, but if this is who they are without her, they are in big trouble. You can't crap the bed this badly on all sides in a showcase event. The NBA does not have great officiating but I can never remember an NBA playoff game (or final) where star players came so so small. This really hurts the league.

if they didnt have a review, then you could have argued "oh, it's just human error, nobody is perfect. refs are human too" but the fact that they actually stopped to rewatch it and still called that a foul, it is 100% rigged.
Biggest disgrace was JJ getting MVP over Phee. Ill never watch another game from this league again. Fucking pathetic. Phee was the best player the entire post season and it isn't even close. She should be playoff MVP. Even in a loss that was handed to her by the Refs.

Players and coaches can see pretty quickly who the refs will favor for the win. The team being favored turns their defense to prison yard basketball. In essence, the players know they can openly mug the opposition. And sorry to say, the players go along with the cheating. Stepping back one has to ask about the fouls if these professionals ever learned the rules as they don't bother to follow them. They know the rules, but the refs have given the Liberty in this case permission to ignore them.
I still cant belive what i saw 😂. I was watching dodgers. And thought, oh yeah, let me see whos winning. Watched the last 5 minutes and overtime and 100% game was rigged. Refs are terrible, players are terrible overall, no wonder this league wasnt watched until Cc. What a joke...
That phantom foul call at the end of regulation that gave Stewart the two free throws to tie it was one of the worst calls I've seen recently. The Lynx got screwed. The league wanted the New York Liberty to win. They needed New York to win.

Just like the second Connecticut-Fever game, similar free throw discrepancy and the more aggressive team had 2-3x the number of free throws. Either WNBA tries to decide in advance which team gets to win or the refs are being bought off by home teams or they are engaged in betting.

We all saw the replay of the most important play of the season, it wasn't a foul. They reviewed it, didn't see a foul, and still called it a foul.

I feel so sad for the players, and I mean all of them. They are playing their hearts out (whether the ball goes in the net or not), taking hits, running their guts out, bleeding in their attempts to do their best and live out their dreams. The Lynx missed too many 3-point shots. Collier played well but no one else on the Lynx played well. They should have been better throughout the game.
