  • Hi! Here we have an SJ413 transfer case that will get a 4:16 Low Range kit and a full rebuild spread over 2 separate videos; "Part 1 and Part 2." Part 1 will be the "teardown" showing the complete disassembly, and Part 2 will be the "build." This video is meant for the DIY community with a little bit of mechanical skill, and to be helpful and/or supplemental for anyone that wants to try it yourself. For a more complete instruction document, I would suggest downloading the installation PDF from Low Range or Trail Tough, but this should show you what to expect, and which tools you'll use.
Can you skip the gaskets? We'll find out!
I did not show the thorough cleaning required, not the presswork, as it's fairly simple and straight forward. Note that during assembly, the front output shaft needs to be pressed together from the inner bearing race and the output shaft so as not to damage the AL case or hurt the snapring.
Please feel free to leave a comment, and if it's a question, I'll try and answer in a timely fashion.
Take your time, and if you get frustrated, take a little break. It's always much better to take a break than to cause one!
I hope this video helps! You can do it!!
    Thank You for watching!!

I get a high pitched whistling noise at speeds exceeding 60 km/hr . Could it be because of the 4.16 reduction gears I installed in my zuki?

I don't understand the stainless-steel studs. Stainless is usually not as strong as regular steel.
