    nice work. curious as I've never seen a climber put their scabbard on and off while climbing. I'd love to hear your thoughts on why you do that?

      Sure thing. We (Alex and I) started doing that about 2 years ago after he was cut really bad making a transition in the tree from one lead to another. The saw wasn't running, but the chain hit the inside of his wrist and cut him really bad. Hospital trip and all. That incident made us think twice about the scabbard. Just another simple step towards making each climb a bit safer. It doesn't really take a whole lot of effort (in my opinion) but keeps your rope and apparently your arms protected to a higher degree. Hope that answers your question!

      @@SidonianTree thanks for the reply. always valuable to learn from other experiences. I'll try climbing with the scabbard next time and see how it impacts work flow. I've had the chain snag on ropes / branches, but thankfully haven't cut myself. stay safe. keep up the good work
