Fantastic video! You guys are just so real and adorable, and are extraordinary athletes. 2 years into my running journey and seeing how hard progress can be to achieve, I have so much respect for the years of dedication and hard work you have put in. Best wishes for health and enjoyment of the pursuit!
You guys are so impressive! It makes me happy seeing you two set big goals and verbalize them and then go after them with gratitude and humor! Eli… you are THE MAN!!! And Tabor, I’m on the shelf right now myself and my heart goes out to you. But everyone knows you’ll be back and you’ll be better and stronger than ever!
You both had amazing performances. It is so much fun to follow your adventures. The joy you take from this great sport is infectious and inspiring. I hope your dog is recuperating well.
Well done over there guys! Humidity is the kryptonite of Colorado runners. I’m reminded of this when I race in the Florida panhandle where my wife’s family lives
Oh poor Muffins!! That would have been blimin scary, glad he's on the mend albeit a slow recovery. We've got cows but it was always the horses I was worried about with the dogs! Was so in it for the fairytale ending when I saw you both in the top three part way round. Gutted for you Tabor but can't wait to see you come back firing! And congrats Eli it's been so awesome getting a glimpse behind the scenes over the last months, so stoked for you!
Huge congrats to you both, on both of your races. You showed up extremely well trained, hatched a solid plan to win, and amongst the best mountain runners in the world, executed it. It was amazing to watch, and see you both out there with the best of the Golden Trail Series (heavily sponsored and supported) athletes, and just taking it out hard (and very smart), and holding onto it. Eli, that big 2nd climb, blown up in the heat, was gnarly, but a smart run from the beginning, bought you the time to run that section blown. Well played sir, well played. Don't discount a 3 minute win. Stand around in the living room and just watch a clock tick through 3 minutes, while doing nothing. It's forever. Tabor, same deal; so well raced, and the girls you were jousting are the best-of-the-best on that course, not to mention, this is race number what for them this season, in those exact conditions? You did amazing, and it took the heart of a lion to call it early and step off. My suggestion, since this is in your lower back, is to stop wearing vests, and only train and race in your Naked Running Band. If you do a quick "torque being applied" calculation to your vest position and load-out, with respect to the injury in your back... youch. And that number is magnified during climbing, because your torso is hinged even more forward, from that injury site. (Torque=moment x arm or Torque = mass x distance from pivot point) Having the Naked Running Band with a 21oz camelbak soft flask across the back, and maybe a 17oz in one of the front panels, would lower your center of gravity, and make the torque just about zero. Congrats on the 1k subs. Hopefully you'll get the watch hours above 4k, so you can start getting a little return each month. Very well deserved! I'm glad your big cattle dog is going to be ok. Have a great race in Mammoth!
Thanks!! Really appreciate the comments! The pack is definitely out for the season. Unfortunately it's mandatory kit for OCC. But hopefully you're right and it will take some load off of the back. We need that all healed up!
Thanks to both of you for doing this! This is so awesome. And Tabor, next year's UTMB is your year(assuming you want to run it)! You were killing it in this race, and I have no doubt you've got it. Lastly, it sounds like the humidity at this years races was daunting, and caused some serious nutrition/fueling/electrolyte issues for many runners.
I feel that pain on the back spasms all too well. Downhills with a tight back are brutal. Congrats to Eli! It was so fun following you both over there!
How have I only discovered you have a channel tonight and why is there no intro sequence of you mucking out the cows, holding hands while sitting round a fire with a piece of straw in your mouth .... all set to the music of the waltons

You two are so awesome. And good vibes to a speedy recovery for Muffins.
