  • Hopefully this will be of help.to anyone suffering from issues with the headlight on the early TL125.
Mine had been going out, it worked fine while the scooter was sat ticking over but as soon as I pulled away the dipped / main beam would stop working From research on the internet it appears others are suffering from similar issues but not many people are coming across a solution, thankfully both Dave at Retrotech and Tasso seem to have the answer, check out my video for the explanation and resolution.

Ywo short wires with some female spade connectors crimped on would do the trick, just plug them onto those four middle spades inside the connector to bridge the wires no need to cut and solder

Many thanks for the kind comments, pleased my video was helpful. Amazing that a plug costing less than £3.00 resolves such a frustrating issue with the early TL's

Hi again....is there any chance you can post the photos of how to do bypass the wires?

@@nickj3676 I didn't bypass the wires myself as I fitted the bypass plug, it seemed silly to go pulling the existing plug apart to join the wires when the Tasso plug is less than £3.00 and just plugs straight in. If you're looking at doing the wire splice without using the plug then according to Dave at Retrotech Racing you need to remove the two Blue / Black wires and join those together and then do the same with the White / Black wires. Hope that helps

Very cool that it worked that easy! Can you make a video of a night ride? Is the light brighter then?

Yes, I'm really pleased it's resolved my headlight woes. I'm hoping I can get the wife to film me riding it in the dark to see how much brighter it actually is. I'll certainly update the channel once I have the footage 👍

Hi Dean, the plug is available through Tasso parts, this should be the link www.tassoparts.co.uk/cgi-bin/store.pl?action=link&sku=TS029&catafile=&table=&uid=85
