Thank you! I was always getting conjugation and aromaticity mixed up. Watching your videos I now understand! I also got 12 atoms and 14 electrons. for the exercise at the end.
Please, are you concluding that every conjugated system becomes or forms sp2 hybridized? I'm asking in reference to how the sp3 nitrogen became sp2 after a pi bond was introduced adjacent to it. Thank you.
i got 12 conj atoms and 14 conj e- because the lone pair on the nitrogen furthest to the left is directly connected to a double bond so it would only count as 2e-. correct me if im wrong?
You have done a great job with explaining of the Conjugated Systems concept. Thank you a lot!!
Thanks for making this video available. I am a physicist with no good chemistry background, but still understood your explanation. Thanks.

OMG thank you so much. I was so lost in my class and now I totally get it.
karen navarro.. Is there any difference between extended p system and conjugated p system?
Conj. Atoms =12
Conj e- = 14
because one of the last N is directly attached to the double bond, so that is a commulated system. Is that correct?
is LUMO nd HOMO same for ethylene in photochemical condition i..e cy 2?
Thank you so much for this clear explanation!
awesome at explaining! thank you from Cornell University
So, Conjugation, in essence, is just 3 or more nearby (And Parallel) Pi bonds coming together and forming an single entity. Am i wrong?
3:45 how does that only have 8 electrons? Doesn't every double bond have 4 electrons and not two?
He's just talking about the electrons in p-orbitals.
@@27danike is LUMO nd HOMO same for ethylene in photochemical condition i..e cy 2?
Can you tell the answers please
What I found is 12 conjugated atoms and 14 conjugated electrons
is LUMO nd HOMO same for ethylene in photochemical condition i..e cy 2?
Thanks for the video 👏👏👏
what will be the answer to the problem?
Jazakallah khair
What kind of software ,he is using for this lecture delivering ?
Thank you very much u r awesome

this helped me a lot--thank you!
Wonderful!
Thank you! Very helpful (:
Are these "p-orbitals" unhybridized?
Yes
I cannot thank you enough.
Love...... ❤❤❤❤
Is there any difference between extended p system and conjugated p system?
that's really helpful!
Perfection
Very helpful thanks :)
great video, thanks.
thank you!!!
Thank you soo much .no one makes me understand this😭😭😭
God bless you
Thanks! This helped!
Answer for the last example is:
Conjugated atoms: 12
Conjugated electrons: 16
i got 12 conj atoms and 14 conj e- because the lone pair on the nitrogen furthest to the left is directly connected to a double bond so it would only count as 2e-. correct me if im wrong?
I got confused a little bit because he did not calculated the loan patron the second oxygen.
I think it is supposed to be 11 atoms, 13 electrons
is LUMO nd HOMO same for ethylene in photochemical condition i..e cy 2?
thank yu so much
Wow, thank you!
Thank you!
Late to class by 8 years D: Danget
Do you take late work?
late to class by 11 years, oops
thanks
thank you
God... i hate organic chemistry 😢
