  • No Use for a Name - Biggest Lie. From the album "The Feel Good Record of the Year". The 9th proper studio release from one of Fat’s original, founding bands. Recorded in Ft. Collins, CO at the Blasting Room with legendary producers Bill Stevenson & Jason Livermore (Descendents, Rise Against, Good Riddance, 7 Seconds, etc.). This could very well be their best record to date, both in song quality and production value. Fourteen new songs that are a perfect blend of all their previous albums.

Can you all imagine, just for a second, if Tony was still around. If No Use was still around. Just, the absolutely amazing songs that would come out of the last four years. Tony would have so much material to choose from. And those songs, like the rest that came before them, would be some of the greatest songs ever written. He will always be missed. But... he will also always be remembered.

The writing's on the wall, but no one cares at all
To convey the message that we wrote ourselves
Destroy the walls we mend and burn the candle at both ends
    (I really think we are)
Becoming more mindless of the heart
    (Becoming everything we hate)
Building our castles for the future
(A Trojan horse is at the gate)
Built by the enemy that we made
It's false sincerity, we hear celebrities
"Buy a hybrid if you can" with ten years of your food stamps
Caught myself listening to sheltered excuses for human beings
    (So it becomes elite)
They separate then what have we got?
(Nothing in common with their wealth)
One clip can change public opinion
(One sin can send you straight to hell)
Learned how to lie and not get caught
More piss in the melting pot
    Shut out majority with riches
    (Their words become more valuable)
Then the voice of a million starving children
(That they have a million ways to solve)
Left freedom bleeding on the roadside,
    We believe the biggest lie

All of Tony Slys lyrics are very true when you're going through depressing times which we all do whether its heartbreak or just simply down in the dumps for whatever reason .. Still one of my favorite bands after all these years . You dont really take peoples lyrics and music that seriously until they pass , You can tell Tony Sly suffered from some serious depression in all of his songs he wrote . After saying that , This track is spine chilling great

This is the most profound and important song that has ever come out of the punk scene. I'm ashamed to have been part of the scene, because everybody in it have turned into PC social justice Warrior liberal crybabies. I'm sure there was a reason that Tony died and I'd be willing to bet anything that opposing the globalist agenda, removing just about all subtlety, was what caused his demise. The guy had balls. I have so much respect for him.

    • @jvmtube
      @jvmtube 5 місяців тому

It's "La Cumparsita" by Ramón Raquello.
The entire sample at the start of the song is taken from a 1938 radio science fiction broadcast narrated by Orson Welles (look for "War Of The Worlds - Original 1938 Radio Broadcasts, 2011 Remastered Version" and go to minute 3:22 to find the exact snippet). In this radio play, they start the song by Ramón Raquello and His Orchestra, but then have to "interrupt our programme of dance music" to tell the listeners about a Martian invasion.
