I completely agree with him. I would not want anyone clicking pictures outside my house. Iam sure these same tourist would not like someone clicking pictures outside their houses. There is also a lot of Noise and Ruckus due to these people. The main thing here is Breach of privacy.

The roads are full of them, they park all over the place, drive on no entry areas , park in private parking areas, drink and smoke along the roads, throw their dirt empty beer bottles along the lanes. There is no peace
They have a right to their peace and quiet. And privacy!! They need to sue the Tourism Department as every citizen in India is entitled to a peaceful and quiet in their homes!!

I absolutely agree about mental peace. Here in vasco the rail line operates at all times either passenger or coal trains which also shake nearby buildings. There is constant traffic on the roads or there are processions in front of st Andrews Church. If not that fighter jets are there to spoil the peace.
The problem is that the government has stopped the ferry routes instead of increasing them. Most of the trafic could have been routed to sea.

Residents of the area have to unite under a common banner and come on the streets. It is their neighborhood. They have to brainstorm and form an action plan as to how to deal with these brash and intrusive elements from other parts of India. We always had foreign tourists since the 70s. We never observed such behaviour from anyone at that time. They respected our privacy and our culture.
This is a residential area and local people should be able to live in peace.
Alu, I support you, primo, my family is also suffering because of the casino parking on M G Road... no authorities are listening to us. Panjim residents have to come together and save our areas.

The Government of Goa should come out with Regulations for tourists and enforce it properly. The tourists cannot disturb the local people especially the people of Goa. Putting a board by the tourism department doest not enforce things. I hope things change for the people of Goa

This is reallly harassing the local Goans. Please fine them or this will never stop. Or they have to be charged heavily for taking any photos. It’s just nuisance to see how they hang around people’s doors 🚪 causing so much noise and disturbance.
Our Tourism Minister only knows about unsustainable commercialization and is destroying the lives of people who have been living in the areas for centuries. As a visitor, I was annoyed to see the behavior and chaos caused by the tourists. Move these tourists to the Ministers home areas and see how they will accept this nonsense.

We want tourism to help the state and its inhabitants survive, we are responsible for bringing in tourism and now we decide that they are irking our sense of stability . Maybe the state needs to put up a board that says silence please or some cops around to make sure there is no irregular behaviour.

Very well explained by Mr Gomes. I think a good way out is to make the entire area into a gated colony and register it as a society. Once a society is created a managing committee of the society is formed and they can then come up with a resolution to not allow any commercial activity specifically from the hospitality industry within the gated colony. But what is really needed is everyone from the Fontainhais area should come together and be together till the very end. Take a good lawyer advice and gear up.
Its is very sad to see this happen to our city and collectively everyone needs to take steps to curtail this kind of unnecessary confrontation across Goa. Too much of ruckus is already created up north and let that be there .. leave Panjim out for good.

Tourism destroys the value of the place it attracts people to. This happens to every place around the globe. People who make money, will do so for as long as the novelty lasts. Thereafter, we will be left with good memories of times a long time ago...
If you notice, all the lure of Goa started with the 1970s in North Goa...now the tourism is moving to South Goa (EDM et al)...that's what happens to every place as the novelty wears out.

My friend visited cochin in kerala. He found lots of foreign tourists in their beach. Also he said, the locals were friendly towards tourists, which is exactly opposite in Goa.

Goa is not a tourist destination for unruly, ill-mannered tourists. all tourists should be guided by legal tourist guides only. Free for all tourists should be prohibited.
