I remember during his first election campaign how there were so many people skeptical of Nenshi because he came out of nowhere, but I really liked how he focused on educating the voters on issues that really mattered and why he stood where he did on different issues, rather than slamming the competition and making empty promises. Definitely no regrets voting for him, even if I don't live in Calgary anymore!
Catnip lmfao that's why he's been charged with slander. He also admitted to hiring sex offenders to infiltrate uber just to get them shut down. The people of that city are so stupid, they re elected this goof. They elected someone who has no qualms about having the citizens of that city assaulted. Good job morons.
@@morganlast5498 the video you posted disproves what you said which is extremely ironic. He did that to check the safety of Uber because he said it wasn't being vetted properly and guess what? Turns out he was right. He also kicked Uber out of the city right after until they reformed policy. Your comment makes you look like the "moron"
Wow, what a great guy. He is just an all around fun person. Positive, funny, and open. That idea of three is great. IHHO, it will be addictive. After you have done one or two you can't stop. The feeling it gives.
I have met Naheed. The first time was during a building opening dedication. Later, our paths crossed again during a company event, and I had a photo op with him. I hope you are keeping well, Naheed.
Mayor Nenshi seems like a really nice guy. Looks like Montreal isn't the only city with a great mayor! Wonder when Rick is going to do a piece like this with Denis Coderre :D
He's got the advantage of being in a wealthy city like Calgary. But what would he do in poor city like Saint John, NB, which isn't that far off from being the Detroit of Canada.
We're heading into a lot more Detroit times then Saint Johns, it'll be a real test of his leadership to see what happens when the full extend of the oil collapse THEN the real estate collapse happen all in 2015, I agree with you that rich City times are easier, really hes the figure head of City Council which includes some crazy people, but he does a great job at what he does
Dear Rick -- *Please* do a special episode, like your or the show's birthday or something, where have *Mayor Nenshi* - & - *Jan Arden* ................ *_pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease_*
It doesn't matter that he's a Muslim, only because he's not a real Muslim. His brand of Islam is not dangerous in the same way that North American "christianity" is not dangerous. They are both watered down re-interpretations. People's beliefs really aren't that strong, they don't adhere strictly to traditional principles, and they conveniently forget the elements of their religion that they don't like or that would prevent them from integrating into Western society. If he were really committed to genuine Muslim beliefs, he would be whipping adulterers and killing apostates... I don't think he'd get many votes.
+j6663000 well, you do have a point ... he is a *Ismaili Muslim,* which is subset of shia Islam. And many *Sunni* Muslim consider Ismaili as non-Muslims BUT then this is like saying *_"raving lunatic Catholics"_* are the only true Christians.
Well, yeah. He's not a fundamentalist Muslim. Most Muslims don't follow the fundamentals of their Holy Book. And no, no group on the planet could conquer the Western World, even if they were fundamentalists with guns.
The world is a better place because of people like Mayor Nenshi
Marvcohen ... and Uber agents
except for when he hired violent criminals and sexual offenders to apply for uber jobs in an attempt to protect taxi drivers.. yaaaa fuck nenshi

Man I wish we had a guy like that here in our city. He could do some major good here!
You can have him! Please take him out of here!
He's not that great.
I tells ya, this video made me nostalgic for when I was living in Calgary a few years ago.
Really liked the concept of the Three. More cities should be embracing this concept of boosting citizen engagement.
Agreed. Simple and achievable.
Wow, what a great guy. He is just an all around fun person. Positive, funny, and open. That idea of three is great. IHHO, it will be addictive. After you have done one or two you can't stop. The feeling it gives.
I'm fully expecting to be grocery shopping one day or something and randomly run into Nenshi
The 3 is crazy inspiring - gonna work on bringing it here on the other side of the Great Lakes. Thanks Mayor Nenshi / Rick Mercer!
seems like a good mayor
I have met Naheed. The first time was during a building opening dedication. Later, our paths crossed again during a company event, and I had a photo op with him. I hope you are keeping well, Naheed.
Oh how the mighty have fallen, come 2021 he’s gone

agreed
Nenshi reminds me that I can't be 100% cynical of politics.
He's a radical! This is the last we're going to see of him. CSIS was already at his door by the time they finished filming this.
How is this possible?
+BiLLyB0B33 yup
+Dwayne Wladyka they caught a rainbow bus to his house, got off and knocked on his door
Sarcasm.
Such a kind man!
Best of Seven barbers! That's where I go.
He's as dull as dish water, he's perfect! Lol!!
Rick's look at 5:30 OMG I'm dying.

Charles Damery True, but he's still good compared to previous Calgary mayors, despite natural disasters.
Not sure if you've read the news lately but we're not so rich anymore
your comment didn't age well for you :P
dat's my nenshi!
He actually went to Harvard! (Nenshi, not Mercer)
The old mayor of Mississauga is the best mayor.
Had the chance to meet her few months ago while canvassing during the election in Ontario. It was awesome honestly.
He should totally run for PM aha
skillet2331 I wonder why Rick chose this mayor and not others who are doing better a better job?
cnn8420 Rick has been interviewing politicians all across the political spectrum, all across Canada for the past decade and a half.
He makes 216,000 a year. If I were him, I'd be smiling too.

The only person more fulsome than Rick Mercer, would be Naheed Nenshi.
What a beauty
Did you get permission from the Calgary Chamber of Commerce to interview Mayor Nenshi? Did he at least?
Hi rick
legit

Sharia Transit
Look at Calgary now 😑 Sharia Transit? DISGUSTING
