April 15 2022 - I got a textmessage from my 14yo daughter: "Dad, this band plays in Metropool here in Hengelo" (thats were we live in Holland) " on june 5, lets go see them!" This came out of the blue. Never went to a concert together. Never spoke about going to a concert together. And never heard of Tygers of Pan Tang before. Ever. (And neather did she.) My first thought: who the fuck are the Tygers of Pan Tang?! In her textmessage was a link of the ticketsite of Metropool, where I found this UA-cam video embedded. I started White Lines, and after 5 seconds of listening I answered my daughter: "Hell yeah, we are going to Tygers of Pan Tang! Enyoing this concert together (along with about 100 other people, they played in a very small concert hall), for me it was a very special closing of a personal process of overcoming addiction. A process that started 3 years ago by listening to a UA-cam video of a song of Metallica which I, like the whole reportoire of Tygers, had never heard before: Until it Sleeps. For me, this Metallica-song became the ultimate song about addiction, and one of my ultimate wake-up calls. After the concert I went deeper into the Tygers history and found out that they have been a major influence on many great artists, of which 1 name stood out for me: James Hetfield. And with goosebumps all over my body I thought: without the influence of this band Metallica might not even have existed, and Until it Sleeps might never have been written. For me, suddenly the circle was complete ❤️ PS. It was a fucking good concert, they were amazing! 🤘
These guys are so freaking good at this. Like, it's almost surreal to make something sound so refreshing and at the same time so classic. You listen to this song once and you know it's instantly a classic. Tygers of Pan Tang inspired musicians like Dave Mustaine and James Heltfield, between a ton others. And they are still going!
Good God, are these still going?! When I was 16, my friend lived next door to John Sykes, and we both learned some slick riffs off him. I'm 57 now yikes.
No. This is Hard Rock..close to glam. DEF NOT METAL. You ever heard of Pantera? OzzY? Metallica..? LMFAO Your like a sad CLUELESS DJ. Like those sad fuX back in the day on mtv calling Vixin n Stryper N Bonn Jovi METAL. FuuuuKNO
Though I agree that Tygers don't play metal anymore, I gotta LOL at "Double Zero" for the "true metal" bands he gave as examples. Dude, heavy metal is the sound of the working class, not the sound of stuffing socks down your pants and pretending to be 'ard!
@@doublezero3338 maybe this doesn't sound like heavy metal these days, but back in the 80's these guys were one of the best nwobhm bands, that stands for "new wave of British heavy metal", which was pretty much the beginning of heavy metal, BEFORE Metallica or pantera even existed, listen to spellbound, you're the clueless one acting like you know whats up
Look, I'm aware this band have been around for 30+ years but I just discovered Tygers Of Pan Tang yesterday for the first time and I've spent the last 48 hours catching up on the discography. They are my new favorite band. The sound, the name, everything. Fucking metal! Ya' know the old favorites (Motorhead, Metallica) are great and timeless and all, but I've heard all those songs a hundred thousand times. Tygers Of Pan Tang is new to me and I love being a virgin in this context. I never would have found this band without UA-cam. Censorship issues aside, UA-cam is a great resource.
Whoa!!!! That just knocked me breathless!!! Feel like a semi truck full of elephants just ran me over!! Still feel the wind blowing back my hair as I jam this masterpiece full volume while playing air guitar!!
Its 18 no taste in music, idiots now. You know that after they listened to approximately 30 seconds of this, that they queued up jayzee or Beyonce right after , and entered their bliss mode
Robert B. These days people judge albums before they even get released. Movies are hated before they are even made. Social Media is destroying ones ability to trust opinions. That’s ok... I never listened to others before, but it’s unfair to the artists.
No for them 40 years .Unfortunately have only one album from them.I do not know names of band members but sound now great Glad to found you here guys. Croatian crazy metal head
Discovered Tygers of Pan Tang in the 80s as part of British Metal wave. Forgot about them after the 80S, then started watching them on UA-cam about 2 years ago. Love Ritual Album. Their best ever in my opinion. Love the new additions to the Band. Blessings
Wow, the Tygers. I was in my teens last time I listened to them some 40 years ago. I just love it when a band can come back and also have evolved. I really like this tune.
Band is firing on all cylinders! Brilliant!! Kinda sounds like Geoff Tate if he was heavy! This is the best music I have discovered in 20 years! They are Legend!
I just recently checked this band out.I literally known them forever but never really listened to any of the songs.I checked some of the past albums and it is quality stuff. Some songs I listen to daily now.
I’ve never heard these guys before, but this song rocks! I’ve only recently heard of them in an interview with Michael Wilton of Queensrÿche where he sites them as an influence. Must investigate further…
Great song. Great example of not re-inventing the wheel, but doing enough creatively and musically to set it apart. Great hook, vocals, backing, the whole shabang!!! Memorable.....ear wormy.....
Killer song ! And ...Awesome updated sound...not like some of these 80s guys still making albums that sound like cassette recordings... Way to go Tygers!
Era da tanto che non sentivo un pezzo così. Mi entusiasma ed esalta al tempo stesso , veramente fatto bene, complimenti . Le Tigri sono tornate a ruggire......
Check out their previous albums .. 'Ambush' (Rocksector Records 2012) , and their self titled 2016 release (all new stuff on Mighty Records), you'll love them ! the second of those is available on Spotify, 'Ambush' isn't. Hope that is of help.
I just heard this song for the first time and I had to look twice cause I thought it was armored saint!! Never heard this band before and I went to high scholl in mid to Kate 80's, THIS SONG ROCKS I WILL LISTEN TO REST OF ALBUM!!!
I haven't listened to TOPT since the mid-80's. Always liked them, just fell off my radar. They sound great here! I always thought they had one of the coolest band names also. There were so many great hard rock bands that never got huge recognition- Chastain, Y&T, etc.
Can't believe I've been hooked on Priest for 10 years and I literally never heard of Tygers of Pan Tang until a month ago. They absolutely kick ass.

'Suzie smiled'.
I've been crankin out to Tygers Of Pan Tang since 1980.

Rock and Roll, uhuuuuuuu
Much respect from a long well underated band... Sounds good compared to many of today's so called metal bands.💥👊🤘
Tygers and Diamond Head are kicking strong these days.
Mickey Crystal's chops are beyond sick, but that driving chunky rhythm is what carries the song. Unfuckingbelievable!!
They’re STILL the business, God bless ‘em. Rock will NEVER die ☠️
The last record is SICK! They are better last 5 years then in the 80s....!
Fantastic Drive, fantastic Vocals, fantastic Guitar leads and Lead fills - amazing!!! I'm going to buy this album in vinyl.
Whoa!!!! That just knocked me breathless!!! Feel like a semi truck full of elephants just ran me over!! Still feel the wind blowing back my hair as I jam this masterpiece full volume while playing air guitar!!
Tygers on top form....and what a gem they have in Micky Crystal!!!
When I was 18 I loved "The Cage" & "The Wreck Age" It's been a long journey since then but I still love my Melodic 80's styled metal. Good comeback!
well, they definitely got better with age! So good to hear classic metal still alive and well!
The four dislikes come from people who wouldn’t know good music if it bit them in the ass!

as a fun note, The Tygers of Pan Tang took their name from a fantasy nation's forces in a series of books by Michael Moorcock
Remember these back in the day. Love potion no 9 and Paris by air. Awesome tracks.
Kick ass!!🤘🤘🤘
They're so bloody underrated. I'm only 24 but NWOBHM is my life and this band put out some killer tracks!
Ok.. but wtf is this shit? Doesn't sound nwobhm at all. Something way more newer radio music than 70-80's stuff.
