    Wow! Today I am facing how blessed I was by HaShem for I was gifited to live twenty days in Ben Yehuda St. in Jerusalém. Every day I used to walk up and down to the Old City of Jerusalém praying. I did not know about his history, but as I am getting to learn Hebrew and English, a friend of mine shared this youtube video with me.
    For HaShem nothing is impossible. He took me to the St. which as received the name of Ben Yehuda, the "father of revivel Hebrew" Baruch HaShem...

    The work of Ben Yahuda was crucial , much influencial on modern Hebrew and was completed by Naphtali Hertz Tur Sinai . Among men of great efforts who revived and developed the language contributing to the first ever dictionary and paving the way to the new academic studies and overcoming all difficulties and resistance due to former dominant views of sacrilege , profanation and molestation . His son Ben Avi was considered the first ever native speaker in modern times and as a child was only allowed to make friends with a dog called םהר meaning fast not with any child who may speak other languages . He worked as a journalist and wrote a biography in Hebrew named אבי or My father . Dola Wittmann his sister was the oldest native speaker at time of her death in 2004 . A blessed and notable family

      Dr.Aharon Meir Mazie or Aaron Meir Masie did also a great job when he resumed and added more and specialised words in volumes that were released next to Ben Yahuda's dictionary and was among his most important advisors . Ben Yahuda's family was the first to be native speakers of Hebrew and he would not allow his son to hear any sounds around even chirps of birds that were not in Hebrew !

    Apparently his (2nd) wife, seeing a huge number of scraps of paper with words Eliezer had jotted down and left in a jumbled mess, exclaimed, "Mice are eating the Hebrew language!"

    "avne iqdah אבני אקדח" has nothing to do with throwing stones with a sling. It refers to flint, the stones that were used to start a fire in old times. The same concept and root (Q-D-H) is found in the Arabic language where the verb Qadaha قدح means to start a fire by scratching flint with a metal object to produce a spark. Even the modern Arabic word for lighter is QaddaaHa قدّاحة because it uses the same concept.

    5:37 "People didn't know the word for fire" If they were religious Jews they did. Fire is a very obvious word in Torah and it's אֵשׁ Aish. It's not שריפה, which is the "new" word for fire. I can't help but have a bad feeling altogether about Modern Hebrew. Is it really an attempt to re-create the language, or does it instead end up ruining it?

    • @jeremiahdetwiler3492
      @jeremiahdetwiler3492 7 років тому +3

      No, שריפה is not the new word for אש. אש is "fire" in the sense of a flame, such as flames in a fire place, תסתכל על האש באח (look a the fire in the fireplace). שריפה is used in the sense of "fire" as in a house fire, הבית בוער כי יש שריפה במטבח "the house is burning because there is a fire in the kitchen.

      ALEPH and Shin ox and crush Dr brown warned about using symbols to put across ideas as the pictographs were to convey sounds not ideas. But um I just don't know. Because God is an all consuming fire. Ox is first letter of alphabet it's a symbol of strength Jesus is the first and last the Word become flesh the Aleph and Tav an ox and Cross when rabbis saw this they tried to rid of pale Hebrew. So I'm confused about what Dr Brown said. Zev Porat explained it too Jesus said he was first and the Last, the alpha and omega, he was"I AM"he came to set the slaves free. Free from sin if you sin you become slave to sin.

    Biblical Hebrew different from modern Hebrew. If they didn't speak Hebrew it would be like tower of brave when God mixed them all up to confuse them, using different languages. I got dream of demons stopping me learning biblical Hebrew. ☹️Did he believe in Jesus?
