- Ruthie Polinsky and David Haugh go through the Bears coaching staff on The Big Pro Football Show. The Bears are expected to hire Dan Roushar as offensive line coach and Eric Bieniemy as running backs coach. Also, Ryan Poles is under contract through 2026 and Myles Garret requested a trade.

I mean, Ryan Poles made some mistakes for sure, but he is a new GM and has shown flashes of promise when it comes to working the draft and doing trades. I think he still deserves a chance at least

Extending Ryan Poles is the right move. He's made a net positive contribution to the team. His first year in charge shouldn't necessarily count against him because he practically had to clean up the mess left over from the last regime. And frankly, if you're not all in on Ryan Poles, shouldn't have let him pick a new head coach on a 5-year contract.
We have a competent coaching staff! Let's go!
The Bears have over $66M in cap space, we should absolutely go after Garrett if the opportunity is right. As it stands, Garrett has a large contract, the asking price I've heard was either 2-second rounders with a supplemental 3rd rounder. And maybe a 4th rounder. I would be okay if we get him and then go after a great FA O lineman like Trey Smith, who would command roughly 22M a year. That leaves you with enough room to get another Top OL prospect in the draft, and with the answer to the edge solved, we focus on building depth at key positions in the trenches. Caleb will be cheap for a while, and that is the time to strike. The defense is solid enough to stay at around 20-25 PPG, which is fine.
How much would Garretts extension be at 30?
As a life long fan...please excuse me if I feel like I've heard this rush to greatness before. Tired of fawning over false expectations. Show me on the field & then I'll believe again.
