    Lyrics:
    I searched the world
    But it couldn’t fill me
    Man’s empty praise
    and treasures that fade
    Are never enough
    Then You came along
    And put me back together
And every desire is now satisfied
    Here in Your love
    Oh there’s nothing
    better than You
    There’s nothing
    better than You
    Lord there’s nothing,
    nothing is better than You
    I’m not afraid
    To show You my weakness
    My failures and flaws
    Lord You’ve seen them all
And You still call me friend
‘Cause the God of the mountain
Is the God of the valley
    There’s not a place
    Your mercy and grace
    Won’t find me again
    You turn mourning to dancing
    You give beauty for ashes
    You turn shame into glory
You’re the only one who can
    You turn graves into gardens
    You turn bones into armies
    You turn seas into highways
You’re the only one who can
You’re the only one who can

A P Bass in the hands of a player with skill, restraint and taste is a beautiful thing! Take note guys. He can play the frets off this thing but does not, instead opting to serve the song while still do enough to know he’s there. Tasteful double stops! I’m a huge fan.

In April of 2020, I was watching this video and learning this song to play for Easter, then our church building closed because of covid. I did get to play it a couple of times on our online services. Now we are open and this one is back on the menu again. Thank you for your time and service to the body of Christ. We have a moto at Life Changing Church in Edgerton Ohio. It goes like this. "We Get To Do This." All glory goes to God our Father. :-)

I really like this tutorial. The base volume is just right above the music and yet I can still hear the music well. The chords in the right hand corner are nice that not everybody has in their tutorials. And I could see the fretboard and his hands really well. I think I'll be using this from now on

@@shaewooten I have a question for you. Some musicians say Contemporary worship, in general, makes musicians lazy due to the fact that it is not pushing them to harder challenges and apply more technical skills like tapping, slapping, crazy intros, other chord progression outside of the "4 chords box", etc....what is your take on that? obviously, a song like Graves into gardens does not require slapping, tapping, etc....that will be overkill of course.

    • @shaewooten
      @shaewooten 4 роки тому +8

      Bigricky06 I love this question.
I think if a musician is not pushing themselves and practicing that is lazy. I think if a musician is showing discipline by serving the song and playing in the correct context, regardless of their skill, that is not laziness. It’s great musicianship and wisdom.
      That’s the delineation. Not technique.
      It is beautiful practical application.
I think our job is serving the song.
Graves may not require slapping, but there is a lot of out of the box playing for this genre like the chordal approach to multiple sections. I did it because it serves the song. There are other tunes where I play only diamonds, because that serves the song. I hope this is a helpful answer!
