That is a beautiful and stout workbench. The top of my workbench is two sandwiched 3/4 inch mahogany faced plywood, I used Danish oil as a coat, let it cure, then rubbed beeswax on top then finally finishing it with a torch to melt the wax on top. It has such a nice warm, sunset color and surface feel is excellent due to the beeswax...but the negative side to my workbench is that I use so much time making sure I don't scratch or mar it!
