I feel like citizen soldier would be the biggest band of all time if they were pushed out to a larger audience. Their music can be classified as “depressing” but it’s just the opposite. It talks about depression, but it makes it all feel better.

As someone who's struggled with depression for years, and who's felt the loneliness and despair it brings, this song hits close to home. You guys have an uncanny way of expressing the raw emotions that a lot of people can't talk about, without sugarcoating the hopelessness that depression can bring, and all the other feelings that society isn't comfortable with us talking about. I always listen to your songs when I'm feeling down, and it's so helpful in sorting through/coping with my emotions and thoughts while feeling like I'm not alone. Your music touches so many people, and I hope you know how much it means.

The idea of your bedroom ceiling being like a therapist has to be one of the most obvious yet creative topics for a song that I am surprised I have not heard before.

It's wonderful in a depressing way. It's calming in a way that makes me feel like I'm at the edge of a terrible storm. It makes me feel fragile and unsteady, but safe. I was born 3 months prematurely. A birth defect of mine was that I couldn't shed tears when I cried. As a result, people always believed that whatever I was crying about wasn't that serious since I wasn't "actually" crying.

Feelings of being so broken yet no one knows, the trust of being alone and peace it brings is a bit frightening due to how comfortable I've become being alone and the thoughts of fading into the shadows of my room brings me satisfaction. Rather be alone then involved with people, being social and having to be someone I'm not is exhausting to the core.

Y'all hit every emotion. If parents would take their time out to really listen to the words they would understand this generation/their child as an individual a little bit better! I totally agree. One of the reasons I think gen z will be good parents. Alot of them have gone through alot of mental health (and more awareness due to social media) and they listen to lyrics of songs not just the song

At night, our bedroom becomes our battlefield, yet just the calmness around us (ceilings, fans, posters, etc) becomes our greatest weapon to continuing fighting off depression and our thoughts. CS somehow knows this and I'm glad they pass that message along to everyone
