      KGC My whole family are JWs. My mum had a lucky, but brutally painful, escape when she was just 19. I have two grandparents in their 90’s who are still JW. I will put your husband in my prayers alongside my prayers for my family and all JW’s. Stay patient with him, learn your bible so you can communicate proficiently with him, and so he can’t dismiss you and call you ignorant. The watchtower continuously contradicts its self he will eventually see that. But don’t take a ‘I told you so’ or ‘I know better than you’ stance so that when he sees the light, the pain from the deception won’t thrust him into denial but rather into humble acceptance of the truth which is Jesus Christ is our saviour. Patience and gentleness is key for both him and yourself. You’re surely going to need someone to turn to when you get frustrated, you can’t be expected to maintain your grace unless you have a good Christian friend to support you x I would also recommend you make a diary of your conversations and little moments as this may come in helpful for when you share your testimony to others in the future. God bless you x

    "They won't take a tract or any literature from you."
    That is true, and it's so frustrating! Try to have any conversation with them at all, and every time they speak to respond they are whipping out more and more of their literature, or following along word for word through one of their study books. But they won't accept a person they are talking to do the same thing - take out a well written piece of literature to guide our conversation through scripture and history etc to answer a question.
    They come knowing they have the upper hand with their enormous amount of literature, training and professionally pre-written statements and answers. They absolutely will not knowingly speak with a Pastor, an experienced Bible study leader, or anyone they think can hold their own in a conversation with them.
    It's sad to see because they are usually very nice people, and in need of salvation. But so hard to reach.

      Tina Hochstetler Well, they do come to anyones home with no knowledge of who is behind the door. Therefore they have no doubt had many conversations with Pastors, Ministers and others with a knowledge of God's word. I know I have had many great conversations with various people.

      @@TheCaledonianBoy My aunt is what the LDS Church calls a TBM ("True Blue Mormon"), in Cincinnati. A Witness came to her door and she gave him a copy of the LDS Church's "13 Article of Faith", which she thought would "do the trick." A few weeks later, he returned when I was visiting her. He was able to refute every point using her own KJV. She was so shocked that she didn't know whether to shit her pants or wind her watch. To say that they "won't" take a tract from you is misleading. I was very impressed by what I saw.

      @lary Snw Everyone who practices a particular religion assumes theirs is the TRUTH.. However, it must be backed up by scripture. All literature disbursed by the J W's has scriptural references that back up the information in the literature. There is no PERFECT religion or no PERFECT denomination anywhere on the planet, because ALL mankind are imperfect.. However, that doesn't mean that scripture can't be understood. Even Jesus' disciples were confused on many occasions . However, Jesus recognized that and would elaborate by using analogies, visions and other methods to instill the meanings of His words. The same is true with the J W's literature. They're a guide to understanding scripture, as well. A lot of religious organizations practice the same techniques, however, their disbursement of them is somewhat lackadaisical and geographically minuscule, whereas the J W's are fervent and worldwide. Matthew 24-14 states that the Good news of God's Kingdom will be preached to the entire world and then the end will come.. J W's are the only Christian denomination who are fulfilling this prophecy on a global scale. There are over 120,000 congregations world wide in 240 lands.. Almost 18 million attended the annual Memorial service for Christ's death.. There are zero personal or payroll recipients in the global organization.. Hundreds of thousands have left high paying professional positions to serve God alongside the rich, the poor, the middle class, the White, the Black, the Brown and every other ethnic group on the planet.. A GLOBAL BROTHER and SISTERHOOD..

      Hi Tina. It is because many of Church teachings come from non Christian pagan sources rather than factual and biblical ones. For instance, on the subject of the Cross, Jehovah's Witnesses found out early 1900's the Literal translation of Matthew 16:24 is as follows in Greek: Εἴ τις θέλει ὀπίσω μου ἐλθεῖν, ἀπαρνησάσθω ἑαυτὸν καὶ ἀράτω τὸν σταυρὸν αὐτοῦ καὶ ἀκολουθείτω μοι. Literal verse translation: If anyone wishes to make his way after me, let him reject himself and pull up his stake, and be guided by me. (For more info please see the following links christswords.com/content/cross-or-stake & en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stauros ) , when they they knew this stopped using the Cross. They did the same with Christmas, Hell and Easter...
      Please note what the Imperial Bible-Dictionary acknowledges on this point: “The Greek word for cross, [stau·rosʹ], properly signified a stake, an upright pole, or piece of paling, on which anything might be hung, or which might be used in impaling [fencing in] a piece of ground. . . . Even amongst the Romans the crux (from which our cross is derived) appears to have been originally an upright pole.”-Edited by P. Fairbairn (London, 1874), Vol. I, p. 376.
      Paul wrote in Acts 20: 29 & 30 why such falsehood and apostate teachings would mislead the whole world: “I know that after my going away oppressive wolves will enter in among you and will not treat the flock with tenderness, and from among you yourselves men will rise and speak twisted things to draw away the disciples after themselves.” Vine's Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words defines: - “Cross, Crucify: denotes, primarily, "an upright pale or stake." Then it continues... “By the middle of the 3rd cent. A.D. the churches had either departed from, or had travestied, certain doctrines of the Christian faith. In order to increase the prestige of the apostate ecclesiastical system pagans were received into the churches apart from regeneration by faith, and were permitted largely to retain their pagan signs and symbols. Hence the Tau or T, in its most frequent form, with the cross-piece lowered, was adopted to stand for the "cross" of Christ.”
      Unlike many bibles that translate the word Stau.ros as cross, you will not find in the New World Translation the words cross or crucifix. Why? Because these are adaptations of pagan traditions and symbolism that the church have allowed to permeate into Christendom, and do not correctly represent Christianity. Those that believe Jesus died on a pagan cross do so because they were wrongly taught by the same people that also confirm that other pagan teachings such as Christmas (which in reality is the birthdate of the Roman and Greek pagan god Mithras) is Jesus birth date, and that Easter which stems back to ancient Egyptian and Babylonian pagan goddesses and the celebrations which surround them have symbols of fertility goddess and rebirth are also Christian when in fact they are not.
      Other core pagan beliefs that have been incorporated, or adopted into the core beliefs of Christendom, that are not part of Christianity is the Trinity, Saint and Mary worship, Purgatory and Hell to name a few. Now bear in mind how the cross has been used down through history,- as an object of pagan worship and of superstitious awe and idolatry, could wearing a cross, even as just an ornament, be harmonized with the admonition of the apostle Paul at 1 Corinthians 10:14: “Therefore, my beloved ones, flee from idolatry”. What about true Christians today? They, too, should be conscious of the need to ‘guard themselves from idols,’ as the Bible counsels. 1 John 5:21 says “Little children, guard yourselves from idols” - New American Standard Bible.
      True Christians have no part in Pagan Christendom, and prefer to see Jesus as per Paul’s statement: “Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake,” and therefore prefer to think of Christ as a glorious enthroned King!- Please read Galatians 3:13; Revelation 6:2.
      Jehovah’s Witnesses know that Christ’s sacrifice is a marvelous demonstration of “God’s power” and eternal love. (1 Corinthians 1:18; John 3:16), But we need no material object like a cross to help them worship this God of love. For, as Paul exhorted, they “are walking by faith, not by sight.”-2 Corinthians 5:7, and therefore are not mislead into believing things like the cross, the Shroud of Turin or any other relics is proof of God, because they are not (Read and compare Jeremiah 7:9, Jeremiah 44:8, 2 Kings 17:15, 1 Corinthians 10:21).
      Jesus said the following in John 4:23, and makes this distinction between those who worship what they do not know and “TRUE” worshipers of the one true God; “But a time is coming, and it is already here! Even now the true worshipers are being led by the Spirit to worship the Father according to the truth. These are the ones the Father is seeking to worship him.” - Contemporary English Version.
      At 2 Corinthians 6:16 & 17 it also reads; “Or what agreement does the temple of God have with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; just as God said, “I WILL DWELL AMONG THEM AND WALK AMONG THEM; AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD, AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE. “Therefore, COME OUT FROM THEIR MIDST AND BE SEPARATE,” says the Lord. “AND DO NOT TOUCH WHAT IS UNCLEAN; And I will welcome you.” - New American Standard Bible.
      The teachings which have their origins in paganism I mentioned above all can be traced back to ancient Egypt and Babylon, now note what Revelation 18:4 & 5 says; “And I heard another voice out of Heaven, saying, “Come forth out of her, My people, that you may not partake with her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues, because her sins have reached up to Heaven, and God remembered her unrighteousness.” - Literal Standard Version. (Read and compare Revelation 16:19 too).
      It is up to you to find the type of worship that is acceptable to God. Colossians 1:9 & 10 reads; “That is also why from the day we heard of it, we have never stopped praying for you and asking that you may be filled with the accurate knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual comprehension, so as to walk worthily of Jehovah in order to please him fully as you go on bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the accurate knowledge of God;” - New World Translation. Also read and compare - Psalms 83:18; Joshua 24:14; Jeremiah 10:14 & 15; Romans 12: 1 & 2; 1 John 2:21.

    I think that last point is wrong. Kurios/Kyrios doesn’t translate as Yahweh but as lord -look it up on-line. Also when LORD appears in the text (with upper case or lower case capitals) it’s a throwback to ancient scribes superstitiously replacing YHWH with a word that translates as LORD. They made their translation of God’s word (the Septuagint) say something it wasn’t originally inspired to say. Therefore, any translation that uses any form of LORD in all-capitals is in error. That doesn’t make the translation useless, but it is a little inconvenient for study at least.
    Also the bigger discussion is whether the trinity is true or not. If the trinity is true, then Jesus is God. If the trinity is false, then Jesus isn’t God. You don’t need to engage in a complex discussion comparing this verse with that one with a conversely surface understanding of the meaning of those verses.
    Given that the trinity is the most important doctrine of churches that teach it, why doesn’t the bible explicitly and incontrovertibly describe it as it’s traditionally understood in verses or passages throughout. If there is a reason that you have to seemingly stretch scriptural understanding and meaning to arrive at a trinity doctrine, then what is that reason? If the trinity Is truly false, then verses that appear to hint rather than explicitly state the deity of Jesus must have some other meaning. I have researched many trinity ‘proof texts’, and each one of them on their own seems quite ambiguous, at least on the surface.

    @Tim Barnet Your whole reasoning at Heb 1:10-12 does not get past first base if you consider the opening 2 verses of Hebrews chapt 1.
    There the writer of Hebrews leaves us in no doubt who the Creator is, and it is not the Son.
    " Long ago, at many times and in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, 2 but in these last days he has spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed the heir of all things, through whom also he created the world." ESV.
    In verse 2 who is it that we are told created the world"? The Father or the Son?
    You also said that the Greek word "proskuneo" means worship and even gave a sarcastic laugh at the NWT rendering of "obeisance".
    If you were to look up W. E. Vines Expository Dictionary of the New Testament, or any expository, this is what it says as the meaning of "proskuneo": "to make obeisance, do reverence to" (from pros, "towards," and kuneo, "to kiss"), is the most frequent word rendered "to worship."
    It is clear that "proskuneo" can be rendered in many different ways, depending on who is giving it to whom.

      Jesus was clearly worshipped multiple times. Whether or not it was as Father God isn’t the question at hand. It’s was He worshipped, and the answer is yes. Using circular reason doesn’t answer the standalone question, which is what JW consistently do. You can’t form a whole theology by using one verse. If you were more open minded I believe that you could see that, but being taught what to say is different than divine revelation.

    Great teaching, thanks! Fast forward to 2023 and I have written a small tract that has been copied/pasted from their NWT showing the links you point out plus other scriptures that their bible clearly shows the Trinity. AND THEY TAKE IT ! The way I do it is explain that it's totally from their bible, and I ask them to read it in their own time because I'd like their opinion. Then I say that I'd like them to tell me what I they think next time I see them.

Now, however, he is being comforted here, but you are in _*_anguish._*_ And besides all these things, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that those who want to go over from here to you cannot, neither may people cross over from there to us.’_

    John 12:38-41 has a parallel passage in Acts 28:25-27 where Paul says the same thing and attributes the speaker to the Holy Spirit (another proof that the Father is often the Holy Spirit, not a third person).
    John 12:38-41 is John’s personal commentary, showing the same pattern of behavior seen by Paul and Isaiah regarding the hardness of people’s hearts to the truth. God’s glory was on display through Jesus (Acts 2:22), yet they refused to give God glory.
    Verse 41 probably should be translated “these said Isaiah when he saw his [Yahweh’s] glory and spoke of it (not “him”).” God/Yahweh was supposed to be receiving glory due to His works through Jesus (as in Matthew. 9:8), but most refused to accept this, hence John’s comments regarding their hard hearts, just as in the time of Isaiah.

    I was born of the Spirit of the Lord. I did not know religion or any concepts. I found myself in search of who God is in the bible and God revealed Himself to me and I became reborn. I thought people that love God that much were a bunch of fanatics. When I became reborn I loved God with all my heart, strength and mind. The Spirit of the Lord is a Spirit of Love. He fills me with love. I hated life and everything in it for most of my life. The Spirit gave me joy and hapiness, set me free. Any way, I did not know who Jesus was because I just seem to talk to only God the Father. I did not want to ask God about it. I felt shame to ask that question. God already knew I did not know. So God revealed to me that He was Jesus and explained to me why. I did not know there was scriptures that supports that. God, like Peter, revealed it to me. That is all I needed to know. Then I told my mom who is a Jeohova Witness and it contradicts what she believes. Everything that I have learned from the Holy Spirit contradicts their doctrine. She tells me they don't have any doctrines and she wants to teach me the bible. I refused because I have God's revelation and that is all I need. She don't believe the Holy Spirit speaks and I'm like He talks to me when I need Him. They believe they all are prophets, but they have no visions or revelation or hear the voice of God. Their prophesy is what the watch tower reveals to them and not from a revelation from God

    You cant use standard bible verses with a JW. You have to learn their bible and point out the inconsistencies as nothing else will be respected. Fact: 5 people translated the NWT with absolutely no Hebrew or Greek skills at the turn of the last century. Ironically, verses change over time as the contradictions get uncovered. 1975 was a very bad year for the witnesses as their "prophecies" did not come to pass for the umpteenth time. Watchtower will not allow it's members to research their past. Imagine a bunch of men in a building in New York controlling your life.
    As for myself, I will rely on the MANY texts discovered and used for the last 2000 years. The JWs are a tough egg to crack. The programming is very strong. Peace and God Bless!!

      What made 1975 a bad year for Jehovah's witnesses? Have you ever read Habakkuk 2 v 3? KEEP IN EXPECTATION OF ,IT FOR EVEN IF IT DELAY,IT WILL WITHOUT FAIL COME TRUE. ( EVEN IF IT DELAY)
      Do you know that in 1975 there were 4 million Jehovah's witnesses, and by 2018 there were over 8 million?..Do you know that in 1975 over 4 and a half million people attended the memorial of Christ death with Jehovah's witnesses and by 2018 over 22 million people attended? Despite renting larger stadiums and larger facilities thousands had to stand because there were not enough seats?Do you know that every time there is a fear that the world is going to end, thousands of people run to JEHOVAH'S Witnesses? The people Ain stupid, they know that Jehovah's witnesses is God's Organization.
      Virtually every country around the globe have tried to stop JEHOVAH'S organization and they all failed miserably If they put 5 witnesses in prison, before you know it there are 500 Witnesses in prison. Just imagine the witnesses were banned in Cuba after the revolution in the 50s, and by 2010 while Fidel Castro was still in power there were over 92,000 witnesses in Cuba?WOW who saw that one comming?
      One country made a law to prevent Jehovah's witnesses from going house to house, and as soon as the law was passed general election came up, and the opposition party used the same law to prevent the Government candidates from campaigning house to house and won the election. Today there are over five times as many Jehovah's witnesses in that country.
      BROTHERMAN, if it is from God, you will not be able to stop it, you might just be picking a fight with Jehovah himself (Acts 5 v 38 and 39.)

    I'm not a Jehovah's Witness but I have read the bible. I have a question. Christians are suppose to imitate Jesus, right? My question is...Who did Jesus worship? From what I've read, Jesus, as a Jew, worshiped Jehovah. If a Christian worships any other god and not the true one (like the one Jesus did - Jehovah) then they are not Christians ...they are not imitators of Christ.

    ***IS THE TRINITY REASONABLE?***
    · God asked himself and offered himself as sacrifice to himself to go to earth to save mankind himself.
    · Then he agreed with himself and offered himself as volunteer to do it himself.
    · Then he impregnated a woman with his Holy Spirit (which is also himself) to give birth to himself.
    · While on earth, God prayed to himself (John 17:1) and glorified himself repeatedly.
    · He prayed to himself and offered supplications (Heb 5:7-8) to himself because he needed to strengthen himself.
    · Finally, God forsook himself (Mat 27:46) and sacrificed himself to prove his loyalty to himself (Heb 3:2,6).
    · While dead, he resurrected himself (Acts 2:24), so that he could exalt himself above himself (Acts 2:33).
    · Then he sat at his own right hand (Heb 1:3, Psalm 110:1) and waited for himself to place his enemies as a footstool under his own feet (1Cor 15:25).

    Hebrews 1:4-9 Hebrews chapter 1 is where there are multiple translation problems, with the translators being either sloppy or changing the text. For example, the Greek word translated as "he says" in verses 6 and 7 and implied in verses 8 and 10 is “legei”, which is used in the New Testament Scriptures to refer to what "he says", or "she says", or "it says". In Hebrews 1 it means the "the Scripture says," or "the writings say". The author is writing to Hebrews/Jews who would recognize that these were quotes of scripture where “it says…”, and none of the quotes used in verses 6-10 are direct statements that God made, so they are not “he said”, but are other writings, meaning “it says…”.
    Verse 6 should say, “when he brings in the firstborn into the world, it [the writings] says...”
    Again, verse 7 should say, “And of the angels it [the writings] says...”
    Verse 8 would continue as, “But unto the Son [it says], your throne oh God…”
    Then verse 10 would read as, “And [it - the writings] says, You, Lord, in the beginning ...”
    Finally, verse 13 should say, “But to which of the angels said [it] at any time...”
    Verse 8 is often pointed to, claiming that it is proof of Jesus being called God. The Hebrew Bible calls people god numerous times (and the Greek and Hebrew writings were in all Capital letters, so if anyone tries to make a theology based on majuscule or minuscule letters, like God or god, they are either ignorant or deliberately deceitful). Judges were called gods (elohim) in Exodus 21:6 and 1 Samuel 2:25 (in Hebrew), angels are called gods in Psalm 97:7. Even Jesus used this linguistic fact in John 10:34: “Jesus answered them, “Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?”” He quoted Psalm 82:6. These are very inconvenient linguistic facts that are ignored to strengthen a doctrine that is at best very weak.
    Hebrews 1:8 is a quote from Psalm 45:6, which some say should be translated as saying “God is your throne”, where the throne is a metaphor for a symbol of power, and the king’s power comes from God. You can see this in the interlinear here:
    biblehub.com/interlinear/psalms/45-6.htm
    But regardless of the translation, even if Hebrews 1:8 is calling Jesus God, it would have been understood in its context as a human god, a king, in contrast to angels. This should be obvious because the text of Hebrews 1:4-9 is showing that Jesus, though a man, is superior to angels because God has made Jesus to be superior to them (verse 4) and has commanded the angels to submit to him (verse 6). If Jesus is already God, there would be no need for making such a trivial argument to Jews, as they know that God is superior to angels by default!
    Furthermore, verse 9 goes on to very bluntly state that Jesus has a God over him, and this God has anointed Jesus to be ruling over his human brethren. “You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore [based on this condition] God, even your God, has anointed [Christed/christened] you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.” If Jesus was already God, there would be no need for him to be lifted up to be over humans. In fact, this would be even more trivial than demonstrating that he is above the angels since mankind is by default lower than the angels! The whole reason for the anointing is for God to show that He has designated, appointed, this man, a human person, to be above all others, including angels.
    Reading the passage in this way clears away all the confusion. It is not God declaring that His Son is God. Rather, it is the Jewish writings that are being quoted so as to distinguish between God, the Son of God, and the angels. (copied from notrinity.app)

    Romans 10:13 The Trinitarian claim is that the word “Lord” in this verse refers to Jesus, and that since this verse is from Joel 2:32, which is about Yahweh, then Jesus is Yahweh. This presents multiple problems. When Peter used this same verse in Acts 2:21 he goes on to attribute Joel’s statements to the Father, and Jesus is not the Father. Jesus is Yahweh’s Messiah, not Yahweh. Micah 5:4, about the coming Messiah, states that, “He shall stand, and shall shepherd in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God” WEB.
    Yahweh, the one God of Israel is the one who must be called on “because He has fixed a day in which He will judge the world in righteousness through a Man whom He has appointed, having furnished proof to all men by raising Him from the dead" (Acts 17:31). To call on Yahweh is to call on the man whom Yahweh has provided and appointed as the means of this salvation. To accept Jesus Christ (the word “Christ” means Messiah) is to accept the God of Jesus the Messiah. This is what John 3:16 is all about: “For God [Yahweh] so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son [Jesus the Messiah], that whosoever believes in him will not perish but have everlasting life.” (copied from notrinity.app)

      His reasoning is refuted at Heb 1:1,2. We are told quite clearly that the Father "made the world", not the Son. Heb 1:10-12 can only be referring to Jehovah as the Creator. As the Son is called the Fathers "heir" it is merely telling us what Jesus is inheriting from Jehovah, "all things".

      We will then show you the truth .......The word Prokonio from where we get the word worship, means "to bow down, to prostrate " and Proskonio was given to humans in the Bible, so what you say proves very little......Also you try to teach that Jesus is Jehovah, then if that is the case then please expalin.......If Jesus is God then WHO was he praying to ? ......If Jesus is God then why did he say "I am going back to MY GOD and MY FATHER ? So WHO is the God of Jesus, and what is his name, when you find the answer to that question then you will see the TRUTH behind WHO God is !
      Jesus backed up that belief when in prayer to his heavenly father said,...”"This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. John 17: 3. Notice how he calls his father the ONLY TRUE GOD!
      The first century Christians taught the same when they preached for example 1 Cor 15: 24-28 where we see in Vs 24 that Jesus has a GOD AND FATHER and that in Vs 28 he SUBJECTS himself to his God & Father!
      SOME do say however, that Jesus does address God as his God and his father because he was A MAN however one of the clearest scripture which shows that Jesus is NOT God is Rev 3:12 where we see Jesus as NOT a man but back in heaven:
      "The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. New International Version
      So WHO is the God Of Jesus, and what is his name ?

    Scriptures added or altered in the King James Bible between the 2nd and 4th Century that never existed Prior
    1John 5:7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one.
    Mark 16:9 Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11 And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. 12 After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13 And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. 14 Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.
    Matthew 16:3 For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
    Mark 9:29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
    John 8:1 Jesus went unto the mount of Olives. 2 And early in the morning he came again into the temple, and all the people came unto him; and he sat down, and taught them. 3 And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, 4 They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. 5 Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? 6 This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not. 7 So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. 8 And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. 9 And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. 10 When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? 11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more
    John 5:3 In these lay a great multitude of impotent folk, of blind, halt, withered, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain season into the pool, and troubled the water: whosoever then first after the troubling of the water stepped in was made whole of whatsoever disease he had
    1 John 5:7 “There are three that bear witness in heaven, the father, the word, and the holy spirit, and these three are one.”
    Matthew 17:21 “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.
    Mark 16 These signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons and they will speak with new tongues.”
    Mark 16 And they will take up snakes in their hands, and if they drink any poison it will not harm them, and they will lay their hands on the sick and they will become well.”
    Matthew 16:3“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.

    Hebrews 1:10 is a continuation of the same pattern as the previous verses which, when properly translated, point to Scripture saying “it says…”, (not “he says”), as explained more fully in the explanation of Hebrews 1:9 (in the notrinity.app). Following this pattern, verse 10 would start “And [it says,] “You, Lord…”, showing that this is pointing to the Scripture writings which the author is quoting. In this case, it is about Yahweh in Psalm 102:25.
    The author of Hebrews appears to be setting up his case to put down any claims (that may have been circulating at that time) that Jesus was an angelic being. In verse 10 the author shows that Yahweh is the creator of all and superior to all. Then in verse 13-14 the author of Hebrews shows again that God did not grant rulership authority to angels, but promised in Psalm 110:1 to exalt a man to be over all of creation. Here are verses 13-14: “And to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”? 14 Are they not all ministering spirits sent out to serve for the sake of those who are to inherit salvation?” ESV (copied from notrinity.app)

    T JESUS Christ IS A JEHOVAH'S WITNESS
    Even a Christian cannot brush aside the worship of Jehovah as God. In Revelation 1:5 the Son of God called himself "'Jesus Christ, 'The Faithful Witness.'" When on earth as a man he was a Jew, an Israelite, to whose nation the words of Isaiah 43:10 were written: "'You are my witnesses,' is the utterance of Jehovah, 'even my servant whom I have chosen. Jesus demonstrated that he was a faithful and true witness of Jehovah God. His genuine disciples to day must be the same kind of witnesses, Jehovah's.
    Those, not of the same faith as Christ Jesus, have placed themselves in Satan's camp.---John 6:67, 68.
    To stay with Jesus Christ is to stay with those whom he pleased to use. Outside the true congregation, what alternative organization is there? Only Satan's organization consisting of his "wild beast" and his Babylonian world empire of false religion.---Rev. 13:1, 14, 15; 17:3-6.

      Hi Paul. It is because many of Church teachings come from non Christian pagan sources rather than factual and biblical ones why the whole world has been mislead. They did the same with Christmas, Hell and Easter... ect.

      Yes......I would like them to witness to me.....I will be waiting for them to make the effort to call on me......I have a funny feeling I will be waiting a long time ! Which is a shame as I will teach them the TRUTH......such as: The word Prokonio from where we get the word worship, means "to bow down, to prostrate " and Proskonio was given to humans in the Bible, so what you say proves very little......Also you try to teach that Jesus is Jehovah, then if that is the case then please expalin.......If Jesus is God then WHO was he praying to ? ......If Jesus is God then why did he say "I am going back to MY GOD and MY FATHER ?

    The alleged Shield of the Trinity actually states the following 9 concepts:
    God in the Father
    God in the Son
    God in the Holy Ghost
    The Father is not the Son
    The Father is not the Holy Ghost
    The Son is not the Father
    The Son is not the Holy Ghost
    The Holy Ghost is not the Father
    The Holy Ghost is not the Son
    These concepts can be simplified into 2 basic concepts:
    -God in 3 persons [the 1st 3 concepts]
    -Each person is distinct for the other 2 persons [the final 6 concepts]
    The Shield actually leaves out this fundamental, essential concept: THERE IS ONLY ONE GOD
    Since this concept is excluded from the Shield, it fails to faithfully, accurately represent:
    -the Trinity train of thought itself
    -the Sacred Scriptures themselves

    This is why I don’t understand people who don’t like Jehovas Witnesses, they always seem to feel the need to drive them away. My answer to this is conviction. The Jehovas Witnesses translate the Bible to help others understand the true meaning behind it. All these current translations are not as accurate to those from the beginning. MANY OF THEM ALSO EXCLUDE BOOKS FROMT HE BIBLE AS WELL AS GODS NAME.

We talked for about 15 mins and the main lady kept saying she better get going and they could come back but I wanted to keep talking. She then said there was someone waiting on them in the car and they needed to go. They told me I was welcome to believe whatever I wanted which if that is the case why pay me visit if I can believe whatever I want? If I’m already a Christian that reads & studies my Bible everyday why do I need literature from the watchtower?

    This approach is not going to help them to wake up.. Telling Jesus is Jehovah you’ll put them further to sleep.
    I was one of them so I know that for a fact...they’ll laugh at you.
    Ask them questions to make them think.. like about the memorial where some people only Touch the plate and others can eat..where in the Bible they see that practice..
    Ask about blood transfusions.. where in the Bible you can take fractions of blood but not the whole blood
    Ask them about how do they know God had chosen their organization in 1919. Ask for the verse.
    Since the put a lot of emphasis in the name of Jehovah ask them can someone have a good relationship with God without knowing the name Jehovah? Definitely will say no, then ask what about Abraham, Isaac and Jacob? God they not reveal his name until Moses...
    So much more but that’s enough to make them think because they don’t answers for these questions.

    I have study both, and yes Jesus can do all that God can and Gods will because Jehovah gave Jesus the authority to do so. I do believe in the trinity. The name Jehovah is in the King James O:T Exodus 6:3 but before that Jehovah name appeared in a 1270AD book called dagger of faith by a Spanish monk name (Raymondus) Martini and you can find it in the JW online library some of my JW friends didn't know that and in their book from the watch tower 1978 Aid to understanding the bible reads about that fact. If you really want to get them read 1 Peter 3:15 But sanctify the Christ as Lord* hit the star in their reference bible and you will see this The Christ as Lord, “the Lord God”; “Jehovah God.”

      *[Origin Of The English Name Jesus 1100s A.D.]*
      Yeshua, according to the Oxford English Dictionary, came from the earlier y’hoshua, which can be translated as “Yahweh [Jehovah] is salvation” or “Yahweh saves.” (Other forms of this name include Yehoshua, Jehoshua, and Joshua.)
      Jesus was first referred to in Old English as hǽlend, or “savior” (the word wasn’t capitalized). The name we now spell “Jesus” didn’t come into our language until the early Middle English period (1150-1250).
      But even then, it wasn’t spelled “Jesus.”
      In its earliest written form, the name didn’t end in “s” and didn’t begin with “j” (the letter “j” didn’t exist at the time). The name was spelled “iesu” (names weren’t capitalized then).
      ☆(VERY IMPORANT)
      The name was first recorded in English as “iesu” around 1175, as part of “iesu cristes” in a book of homilies. The name was written in lowercase letters then, but we’ll follow the modern convention and capitalize it from now on.

      ***[What Does "GOD" Mean?]***
      The Hebrew word 'El or 'Elo•him' [In English- God] is a TITLE
      (not a name) denotes "might & strength" [Mighty One or Strong One]
      *John 17:3 - Jesus calls the Father "THE ONLY TRUE GOD" here:*
      This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.
      {Note}
      *[JUST BECAUSE SOMEONE BEARS THE TITLE "GOD," THIS DOES NOT MAKE THEM ALMIGHTY GOD]*
      •In Bible, the Title [God] applies to:•
      • Jehovah (Gen. 17:1) And when Abram was ninety nine, Jehovah appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am *God Almighty*
      •Jesus (Isaiah 9:6)
      • Angels (Psalm 8:5) “You also proceeded to make him [man] a little less than [godlike ones].” (Hebrew, ’elohimʹ; “a god,” New English Bible, Jerusalem Bible) The Greek Septuagint Version renders ’‏elo·himʹ here as {“angels}.”
      •Satan (2 Corinth 4:4)
      •False gods (Judges 16:23)
      •Human Leaders (Exodus 7:1 - Moses), ...
      Jews of the first century C.E. found no conflict with their belief in one God at Psalm 82, though Psalm 82 verses 1 and 6 of this psalm utilize the word ’elo·himʹ (the·oiʹ, plural of the·osʹ, Septuagint) with reference to human judges.
      [NOTE]
      •Compare John 10:34-36 (vs 34, "Jesus answered them: “Is it not written in your Law, ‘I said: “You are gods”’)...
      Here, Jesus quotes Psalm 82:6
      ~~~~~~~
      Although some of the above may be Strong, Mighty or Powerful, none are equal to the Father [Yehowah /Yahweh/ Jehovah] in age, knowledge, strength, power, etc.
      This is exactly why Paul uttered the following:
      1 Corinths. 8:5-6 - (5)For even though there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” (6) there is actually to us one God, the Father, from whom all things are and we for him; "AND" there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and we through him.
      [Clear Distinction btwn Jehovah & Jesus,]
      ***I Trust Jesus Words. Let Jesus Speak for Himself:***
      *WE WORSHIP* what we know!
      • John 5:19 - Jesus say, "The Son can't do anything on his own, only what he sees the Father doing."
      • John 10:33 - After the Jewish Leaders attempted to stone Jesus, accusing him of calling himself "God" (KJV) ... Why did Jesus correct them by saying, *"I said I am God's Son?"* (verse 36)
      • John 14:28 - Jesus says: The Father is greater than I.
      • John 17:3 - Why does Jesus call the Father *THE ONLY TRUE GOD*?
      "This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, *"THE ONLY TRUE GOD,"* [and] the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ."
      (Clear Distinction Here)
      • John 20:17 - ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to *MY GOD and YOUR GOD.’”*
      • John 20:28 - After Thomas said, "My God & My Lord," ...Why does "vs 31" say "But these have been written down so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, ***THE SON OF GOD?"***
      • Rev. 3:12 - [After Jesus Ascends Back To Heaven, (in the Spirit) he still calls his Father ***"MY GOD"***] (4 times)
    Mr. Barnett, why haven't you gone door to door to preach the gospel? Why not encourage your followers to do the same? Crazy thought, huh? Jesus did it. Wasn't that a big part of His ministry? So why doesn't the church do it? The Mormons sorta, kinda, sometimes do it. I don't agree with the Witnesses on everything, but it takes real courage to go to the door of a total stranger, not knowing what's behind it, and talk about religion.
    Psalms 45:7 (NIV)
    7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, YOUR GOD, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.
    Verse 7 uses the expression “God, your God,” showing that the one addressed is not the Most High God but is a worshiper of that God.
    Hebrews 1:8 quotes from Psalm 45:6, which originally was addressed to a human king of Israel. Obviously, the Bible writer of this psalm did not think that this human king was the Almighty God.
    Solomon, who was possibly the king originally addressed in Psalm 45, was said to sit “upon Jehovah’s throne.”
    1 Chronicles 29:23 (NIV)
    So Solomon sat on the throne of the LORD as king in place of his father David. He prospered and all Israel obeyed him.
    In harmony with the fact that God is the “throne,” or Source and Upholder of Christ’s kingship,God confers such authority on Jesus.
    Luke 1:32 (NIV)
    He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David
    Hebrews starting at verse 10 the Lord spoken of here is Jesus. Jesus was the one through which God created the earth. So it can also be applied to Jesus.
    Does it say Jesus was a 3 in 1 God equal in eternity, power, position, and wisdom?
    Do the verses also apply to the holy spirit?
    Does it prove the trinity?
    No. There is no trinity here.
    The Jews have never worshiped a trinity. If God has somehow changed into a trinity wouldn't you think Jesus would have clearly taught it?
    Did the Jews worship the wrong God for thousands of years?
    Every so called trinity proof text turns out to be a deception. I have seen them all.
    The trinity was borrowed from the pagans.
    Ancient Babylon started the trinities Nimrod, Tammuz, Simerimas and Shamash, Sin, Ishtar.
    Then the other pagan religions copied them.
    Egypt: Osiris, Horus, Isis
    Greece: Zeus, Apollo, Athena
    India: Brahama, Vishnu, Shiva
    Rome: Jupiter, Mars, Venus
    Then apostate Christendom copied the pagans in the 4th century.
    Father, Son, holy spirit
    A text from the Hindu bible says: O ye three Lords! know that I recognize only one God. Inform me, therefore, which of you is the true divinity, that I may address to him alone my adorations.’ The three gods, Brahma, Vishnu, and Siva [or Shiva], becoming manifest to him, replied, ‘Learn, O devotee, that there is no real distinction between us. What to you appears such is only the semblance. The single being appears under three forms by the acts of creation, preservation, and destruction, but he is one.
    This is the template the apostate Christians in the 4th century C.E. used to change their God into a pagan trinity. This is when the apostasy foretold by Jesus and the apostles came into full bloom.
He was their overseer, but one who set the example for them by sharing right along with them in the work that was to be done. (1 Pet. 2:25) (Giving Encouragement to Others, July 15, 1963, page 434).
      To God
      b. The Watchtower: He, as the God of eternity and the "Ancient of Days," is the Chief Elder, the Great Shepherd and Overseer of our souls. (1 Pet. 2:25) His example is always the right one to follow. (Divine Mercy Points the Way Back for Erring Ones, August 1, 1974, page 463).
    Philippians 2:5-6 Notice that the KJV has the word “it” italicized, meaning that they are adding this word to the text, as it is not in the Greek. Without this little word the text says something quite different; that Jesus did not consider robbing God, which shows that he is a man and he was faithful!
    If Jesus was God, robbery would not even be possible - it would be like you thinking about robbing yourself, which is just silly.
    The NASB version says, “who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,” which is closer to the Greek version. Jesus himself said that he could do nothing of himself (Jn. 5:19, 30). All his powers and authority were granted to him by God, making him to be functionally as God (like Moses who was also like God (Ex. 4:16, 7:1)), but Jesus did not take advantage of it.
    Being a man, he humbled himself and obeyed all the way unto death at the cross. “…Being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also has highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 [So] That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
    If Jesus was already fully God there would be no need to exalt him and give him a name above every name so that all would bow to his kingly authority. God is already the highest authority by default. The passage proves Jesus is not God! (copied from notrinity.app)
    Isaiah 9:6 This is one of the top favorite Trinitarian verses. But it fails on multiple accounts.
    1. The translation problem. The words “will be born” and “will be given” indicate a future fulfillment. However, a quick check of an interlinear and a few more honest translations will show that the verb tense is in the perfect tense, indicating an action already fulfilled. It should be translated “is born” and “is given”. The context of verses 1-5 also indicate this to be a present tense, as something that either had recently been fulfilled or was being fulfilled at that time.
    2. The verse refers to this son as “Eternal Father”. Jesus is not God the Father.
    3. This verse is never used in the New Testament as applying to Jesus. This is a serious red flag considering that today this may be one of the top 5 verses used to claim that Jesus is God.
    4. The long name that is given is an exception that is normally not translated. For example, in Isaiah 8:3 we have a long name that is not translated. “So I approached the prophetess, and she conceived and gave birth to a son. Then the LORD said to me, "Name him Maher-shalal-hash-baz.” The same would apply in Isaiah 9:6 except that the name is translated in order to give the appearance of it being a prophecy about Jesus.
    When Isaiah 9:6 is properly translated and understood in its original textual and historical context, we find that it most likely fits the birth announcement of king Hezekiah. (copied from notrinity.app)
      @@shawnrudkin2864 If you check an interlinear, you will find that the Hebrew is "gib·bō·wr el". This is "mighty" and "god", and "el" here can refer to the one God almighty, the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, or "el" can refer to false gods/idols (but not in this context, obviously), or "el" can refer to a human ruler, which is a normal use in Hebrew. In this case, the context of the chapter is about Hezekiah. He is a mighty god, a warrior king who brought peace. Don't fall for different theologies and interpretations based on how translators translate. The original Hebrew meaning is the correct meaning.
    HAVE YOU EVER READ MARK 10 v 18? Jesus said, WHY DO YOU CALL ME GOOD, NOBODY GOOD BUT ONE, THAT IS GOD. Does that sound to you like Jesus is God?
    IF JESUS IS GOD, WHO THEN WAS IT WHO SAID, MY GOD MY GOD WHY HAS THOU FORSAKEN ME? AND WHO WAS HE TALKING TO, HIMSELF?
    IF JESUS IS GOD, HOW COME, NO MAN KNOWETH THE TIME OR THE HOUR, NOT THE ANGELS IN HEAVEN, NOT THE SON, BUT THE FATHER, ARE YOU SAYING THAT GOD DOESN'T KNOW HIS OWN SCHEDULE?
    1 JOHN 4 verse 12 says, NO MAN HAS SEEN GOD AT ANY TIME, WELL DIDN'T PEOPLE SEE JESUS? SO HOW COULD HE BE GOD, BESIDES, NO MAN CAN SEE GOD'S FACE AND YET LIVE, DON'T YOU KNOW THAT?
    1 JOHN 4 verse 15 says, whoever declares that Jesus is the son of God, God is in him and he in God.
    1 John 5 verse 5 says, who is he that conquer the world but he who declares that Jesus is the son of God.
    IF JESUS IS GOD can you please explain 1 Corinthians 15 verse 27 and 28 to the people you are Misleading?
    Finally, ANY sensible person who reads DANIEL 12 verse 1 and 2, and compare it with John 5 verse 27 and 28, must conclude that both accounts are speaking of the same event and the same person MICHAEL IS JESUS. If MICHAEL is not JESUS, how then did he get the book? Revelations 5 verse 1 to 5, says, NO ONE IN HEAVEN OR ON THE EARTH IS WORTHY TO OPEN THE BOOK OR EVEN LOOK ON IT. BUT JESUS. SO IF MICHAEL IS NOT JESUS, HOW DID HE GET THE BOOK?
    YOU GUYS DO NOT KNOW THE SCRIPTURES, YET YOU ARE TRYING TO COMPARE YOURSELF WITH COMPETENT PEOPLE WHO READS GOD'S WORD DAILY.
    As a reward for faithfully carrying out the RANSOM SACRIFICE, GOD rewarded Jesus with a name above all other names, and gave him All authority in Heaven and on earth. (Matherw 28 verse 18) NOW HERE IS THE SIMPLE LOGIC, if someone gives you something OBVIOUSLY you didn't have it before it was given to you. ? COME GUY WAKE UP, YOU CANT STOP JEHOVAH ORGANISATION.       The word Prokonio from where we get the word worship, means "to bow down, to prostrate " and Proskonio was given to humans in the Bible, so what you say proves very little......Also you try to teach that Jesus is Jehovah, then if that is the case then please expalin.......If Jesus is God then WHO was he praying to ? ......If Jesus is God then why did he say "I am going back to MY GOD and MY FATHER ? So WHO is the God of Jesus, and what is his name, when you find the answer to that question then you will see the TRUTH behind WHO God is !
      Jesus backed up that belief when in prayer to his heavenly father said,...”"This is eternal life, that they should know you, the only true God, and him whom you sent, Jesus Christ. John 17: 3. Notice how he calls his father the ONLY TRUE GOD!
      The first century Christians taught the same when they preached for example 1 Cor 15: 24-28 where we see in Vs 24 that Jesus has a GOD AND FATHER and that in Vs 28 he SUBJECTS himself to his God & Father!
      SOME do say however, that Jesus does address God as his God and his father because he was A MAN however one of the clearest scripture which shows that Jesus is NOT God is Rev 3:12 where we see Jesus as NOT a man but back in heaven:
      "The one who is victorious I will make a pillar in the temple of my God. Never again will they leave it. I will write on them the name of my God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem, which is coming down out of heaven from my God; and I will also write on them my new name. New International Version
      So WHO is the God Of Jesus, and what is his name ?
    Witnessing to Jehovah's Witnesses? That's a laugh!!! Jehovah has entrusted
    the truth to us and to no one else. Whoever he has placed his name upon is
    the one faith that he chose. And there can be only one faith among the many
    thousands of religions around the world with whom he will share the " sacred
    secrets" of his holy words concerning his heavenly Kingdom. If you people
    only knew the wonderful things he has revealed to his " faithful and discreet
    slave", who's master is the King and head priest of the "Israel of God", also
    known as the "little flock" of 144,000 who will rule in the heavens with their king.
    Did you understand that? We can reveal things that will make your jaws drop in
    amazement. Revealing that much, would lead into scriptures that would make
    your heads spin. We don't need your witnessing, we are the true Witnesses, the
    genuine Christians of Jehovah. He is certainly not going to give his divine name
    to people that don't want it. In fact, you associate it with the occult!! And he will
    hold all those who disrespect it and are ashamed to claim the name in their
    lives and live by it responsible and he will preserve them for the day of judgement.
    Amen!
      I believe that the Trinity (God/Jesus and the Holy Spirit) loves you. Jesus the one and only begotten Son of God (Who is part of the God Head) dies on a Roman cross and three days later rose again. That whoever believes are buts there trust in Him shall not parish (go to everlasting torment) but shall have everlasting life. To do this you don’t have to do any work. Because it is by grace we are saved. All you have to say is thank you Jesus for dying for me, for my sin and rising to new life for me. If you truly believe you have the truth then won’t mind being questioned (witnessed to).
    *The Absolute Truth About Hebrews 1:6*
    First, we have to understand what Paul meant here by worship. He used the Greek word pro·sky·neʹo. Unger’s Bible Dictionary says that this word literally means to ‘kiss the hand of someone in token of reverence or to do homage.’ An Expository Dictionary of New Testament Words, by W. E. Vine, says that this word “denotes an act of reverence, whether paid to man . . . or to God.” In Bible times pro·sky·neʹo often included literally bowing down before someone of high stature.
    Consider the parable Jesus gave of the slave who was unable to repay a substantial sum of money to his master. A form of this Greek word appears in this parable, and in translating it the King James Version says that “the servant therefore fell down, and worshipped [form of pro·sky·neʹo] him [the king], saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.” (Matthew 18:26; italics ours.) Was this man committing an idolatrous act? Not at all! He was merely expressing the kind of reverence and respect due the king, his master and superior.
    Such acts of obeisance, or expressions of respect, were fairly common in the Orient of Bible times. Jacob bowed down seven times upon meeting his brother, Esau. (Genesis 33:3) Joseph’s brothers prostrated themselves, or did obeisance, before him in honor of his position at the Egyptian court. (Genesis 42:6) In this light we can better understand what happened when the astrologers found the young child Jesus, whom they recognized as “the one born king of the Jews.” As rendered in the King James Version, the account tells us that they “fell down, and worshipped [pro·sky·neʹo] him.”-Matthew 2:2, 11.
    Clearly, then, the word pro·sky·neʹo, rendered “worship” in some Bible translations, is not reserved exclusively for the type of adoration due Almighty God (Yehowah or Jehovah). It can also refer to the respect and honor shown to another person. In an effort to avoid any misunderstanding, the following Bible translations accurately render the word pro·sky·neʹo at Hebrews 1:6 as:
    ▪︎"*bow down toward him*
    *bow before him"* (Greek Interlinears)
    ▪︎"*adore him*" [from the Latin: *a.do'rent*] (Douay-Rheims Bible)
    ▪︎“*pay him homage*” (New Jerusalem Bible)
    ▪︎“*honour him*” (The Complete Bible in Modern English)
    ▪︎“*bow down before him*” (Twentieth Century New Testament)
    ▪︎"*bow before him*" (Young's Literal Translation)
    ▪︎"*do him reverence*" (Byington's Bible In Living English)
    ▪︎“*do obeisance to him* [Footnote: bow down to him]” (New World Translation)
    Is Jesus worthy of such obeisance? Absolutely! In his letter to the Hebrews, the apostle Paul explains that as the “heir of all things,” Jesus has “sat down on the right hand of the Majesty in lofty places.” (Hebrews 1:2-4) Thus, “in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in heaven and those on earth and those under the ground, and every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord *{to the glory of God the Father}*.” -Philippians 2:10,11.
