Great stuff. Love the free hand. Love the test idea of which yellows over silver you prefer. Also great tip about the varnish prior to oil wash. Thanks for Song content. My favorite figures to paint.
Using transparent paints like speed paint or contrast over metalics gives such a good effect. I've had good results from skeleton hoard for a more worn gold.
It'll be a couple videos before I'm back to asoiaf again, but I'm still really enjoying the game, so I'll definitely make more painting videos on it before long!
Some questions 😅 Speed paints direct into airbrush? Or maybe thinned down? How about Psi with air brush(also your nozzle size?)? I enjoy the format of this video!
I thinned the speedpaints just a little bit, both with Speedpaint Medium to reduce the intensity of the color and with a little bit of water/flow improver to make it spray easier. Airbrush needle size .2mm I think? Usually PSI around 20, but sometimes less if I could get away with it since it makes it easier to spray closer to the mini and get more precise. Hope that helps, lmk if you have other questions!
First I superglued some very small ripped up pieces of cork to the bases, then filled in the rest of the space with Monument Hobbies fine texture paste. At the end I used a few very small grass tufts as well, and I cut them smaller if they looked too big. Then just painted with yellow-green/olive colors and brown washes (and grey and green for the rocks.) Hope that helps!
Very inspiring! Looking forward to more ASOIAF content.
Thank you! The next few videos will be board game minis, but I'll keep mixing in some ASOIAF as well!
Thanks for your contribution. Asoiaf can always use painting tutors like you. Different ideas and opinions
