- Quick tour of my Mitsubishi L300 starwagon 4x4 van that I fitted out for camping/overlanding. Full setup was DIY from home in then using bits and pieces of old pallets, scrap timber, and a couple of things bought from bunnings.
One of the best designs for these vans that I've seen. Well thought out and executed.
Thanks mate! Few hours of planning and lots of back and forth with the design but it came up perfect I reckon.
Genius how the kitchen slides out to the awning area! Great cabinetry designs!
That was the idea, thanks!
I've been watching a lot of these videos and I do mean a lot of them. I'm going to convert mine. Yours is the best by far
ha thanks mate, I spent a bit of time looking at other designs and merged them all together 👍🏼
С каждым днем наши L 300 дорожают, а другие дешевеют.молодец привет из Израиля.
Now that is some really great yet very simple and smart design! Definitely one of the best I’ve seen. Great work! 👍
Thanks mate!
Amazing...I built several different set ups and this one is by far the best I've seen due to it's simplicity and functionality. I built a cabinet behind the seat that is mounted on heavy duty drawer slideout rails in order to slide it backwards and be able to open the engine bay without taking stuff out of the van. I would consider your set up but I have 2 kids and need the captain chairs for their car seats. Well done
Thanks mate, fair bitta time went into the planning. The whole bench the fridge sits on is actually hinged, slide the kitchen out, undo a latch, tilt bench forward and can still access quite easily
thank you, inspirational. Love how you have built your van
Well done Jamie. No bells or whistles, just a down to earth setup that obviously works . 👍👍
The retractable mixer tap was a bit fancy but tried to keep it relatively simple, works an absolute treat, thanks mate 👍🏼
Great setup Jamie, I have a 95 Delica, with a similar setup to yours. I've been all over the place in mine and still going strong. Good job !!!!
Just can’t beat these little rigs, I’ve got a landcruiser that’s barely been driven since I got the van
a awesome van , the best for camping or stealth living, cant beat a L 300 . bomb proof,,,,,,
thats it mate
Best van fit out I've seen.
Great job there Jamie.
Thanks 👍
Hi Jamie. thanks so much for sharing this. its absolutely amazing. im just about to start a build on a small daihatsu hijet looks very similar in size... what a tardis it is
The hijet would likely be a little narrower I think, but would still be able to get something similar to my build I think. Good luck!
Simple easy set-up just perfect
Excellent work...🎉👌..
Keep it up Bro..
Good wishes from India 🙏
Thank you mate 👍🏼
Loved it... Good work..... ..
Thanks a lot 😊
Wow simple economic practical and convenient.....❤
That was the plan!
so easy and so perfect bedsetup
Absolutely Gun brother 👍
Awesome job mate
Thank you 👍🏼
Brilliant design!
Thanks
Cool stuff man!
Awesome work
Amazing build, congrats! Did the added weght affect the performance in any way? Also, how comfortable is it to drive, being 6'8" ?
Thanks for the answer :)
No noticeable difference at all really. Surprisingly comfy but probably because I’m actually not 6’8 I’m about 6ft so it’s fine for me
Very intelligent design
Great job Jamie I love it ! Do you have any plans to share with us ?
If you have an L300 I have a couple sheets with some rough dimensions of how I planned it out, but most of it was eye-balled and done on the fly.
@@jimmychampion69 I have a Mitsubishi express 2008 but why not
Very nice job 👍
Thanks mate
Absolutely I’ve everything about it! Here did you get all of the equipment from? like the cabinets, solar panel from?
Awesome set up. Although 6'8? Damn you need a school bus at that height.
Hahah I’m not actually 6’8, wouldn’t be in an L300 if I was any bigger tbh
Nice van😎 only thing you are missing is a fantastic vent , you are going to get cocked in summer ☀️
Used it a fair few times over summer here in aus and was fine! Have a 12v fan and one window has an external fly screen which we can leave right open and stays quite cool
Not secret anymore😃
Nice. Half ya luck 👍
Very compact, neat and tidy, love the slide out kitchen, i didnt think you could access the stove inside if it was raining for a cuppa till i watched twice, nice choice of textures, do you have a table for use inside? Great tour, happy trails, 👍🚙👌🇨🇮☘️
Tried really hard to make the kitchen somewhat accessible from the inside if need be, can definitely still pull the stove out 👍🏼👍🏼
This is really woow 🎉
Очень функционально, круто! Привет из России!
Nice job
Well done 👍
Thanks mate
Good idea... 👍👍

So little, and yet so big :)
Big things come in small packages… or something like that
bravo , beau travail , félicitations
I like this car.
I like that you like this car
Love this! Where do you store bedding/pillows when it’s in bench seat mode?
Never seen the fridge mounted above the slide out kitchen - genius! But did you remove the passenger seat to do this? We have a 65l Bushman’s fridge in our current canopy and want to use it in a Delica conversion too but worried about depth.
Bedding folds up and sits behind the drivers seat, and no the fridge sits behind the passenger seat nicely I didn’t have to remove it at all.
Putevo! Very good! Very rational! Well done! 👍
Thanks a lot!
I love this mate. How big is your water tank? Looking at a similar design but wanting to have 100ltr at least
42L water tank inside. Could have definitely gone bigger as there was some wasted space above the tank in order to make it level with the rest of the drawers/sleeping surface.
Amazing it's really mitsu L300 4x4 standard or you convert from 4x2 to 4x4...here in Indo i never meet the specs like that...👍🏻
Factory 4x4 mate
where is your gas tank
Машина настоящий друг,после нее хочешь другую.
I really like the roof top deck and plan to put one on my van, what brand of roof-rack mounts did you use? Yours look a lot stronger than some I've seen. Thanks 🙂
4 x Rhino gutter mount racks, 3 of them are branded ‘nissan’ but exactly the same. We’ve had about 8 people up there and was solid as a rock 👍🏼
Good and practical layout pity it’s a Mitsubishi L300
What other cheap 4x4 van would it be better off in? This thing has been unreal, can’t believe how capable and comfortable it is
Excellent but no shitta mate.
Any WA shit?
This is a great set up. Nicely done. Is the bed long enough for your giant frame. And do you fit in the drivers seat ok, or did you have to modify. Asking because I am seriously considering a l300 star wagon over here in Canada and I am 6’6”
Hahaha sorry to let you down but I’m only around 6ft, was joking about being 6’8”. My bed length was about 2m Long, could have been longer but it was all we needed. Plenty of room in the drivers seat/area for me, I feel like you’d be best off test driving first to make sure though 😂
@@jimmychampion69 haha, roger that. 👍
