Great video, as usual! This is exactly how I write music. You have to keep experimenting until you come up with something that you like yourself personally. Great to see someone else using the Studiologic controller keyboards!😀🎹🎵
Very interesting video (and actually needed this kind of insight.) I was however very distracted since this melodic phrase felt like something I knew. At first I didn't manage to find what. But then it striked me : ua-cam.com/video/iyLdoQGBchQ/v-deo.html&ab_channel=ClubMusic80 :D I don't know how it has been outside of France , but this has been a very big "summer hit" in the nineties, hearing this constantly everywhere until oblivion. that's where my distraction came from: Childhood trauma :D
I can’t help but think about The Downward Spiral and The Fragile which both have repeated melodic elements across tracks. “From NIN.wiki: The ending keyboard melody of "Closer" is repeated in the climax of "The Downward Spiral" and the chorus of "Heresy." A similar piano melody is played at the end of "Piggy." This recurring melody is a descending tetrachord pattern and, in music theory, would be an example of a lament bass.” Not sure if that’s correct or not, but the tracks themselves check out.
Grab the free Harmony Guide to dig deeper into....well, harmony :)➡bit.ly/FreeHarmonyGuide
Love it. My music theory is basic to non existent and you make me want to learn more!
Great video, that melodic theme is quite the lick ;)

"Harmonic Freshness" is a great term. Cool concept to keep in mind when composing & jamming.
This was incredibly helpful to someone like me who struggles with music theory and the relationship between melodies and chord progressions.
Fantastic articulation of the magic in music composition.
I like very much how every explanation has an understandable example. Thank you! 😀
Glad it was helpful!
In my present mood, I hear "Black is the color of my true love's hair".
Thank you For This Video
Just ate some alligator sausage…. Surprisingly delicious
Without the alterations It reminds me alot of Oblivion's soundtrack for some reason 😅
At 2:11 or so, what is the fifth descending chord you’re playing? It’s delicious!
Changing one thumbnail also changes everything
It's funny you uploaded this video. I'm working on someone else's melody and changing the chord progressions without changing the melody.
