Oh good! It was a little clunky for the first time doing it but I know it’ll get easier. I’m actually going to add a homeschool specific Plan With Me to my line up.
I’m struggling to decide if I want to do private homeschooling, me schooling them at home or do a virtual online school through my school district it’s free. All they have to do is complete all their assignments for the day to be marked as present and if needed they can get extra help. Also we have to meet with their teacher once a month. I feel like I’m a bad mom if I don’t private home school my kids myself.
Don’t feel down on yourself! I know it isn’t an easy decision but whatever decision you make will be the right one for your family. When doubt seeps in just think back to why you chose what you did.
For science I have enjoyed using The Good and The Beautiful units a lot.
I’ve seen the units from them. Which ones have you used? Do you have a favorite?
@@Libertyschoolhouseplans I try to go with what my kids are currently talking about so we have done space, geology, botany, water, ecosystems, and birds. It's hard to say I have a favorite, I think they have all been really enjoyable!
Hi! I just love your videos. I was wondering if you could share the reasons Simply Charlotte Mason or My Father's World work best for your family? I am absolutely torn between those two for my kids. I know it's good to have an open mind and change things if they don't work. But I would love to find a wonderful Christ centered core curriculum for us. What we used last year just doesn't fit us, so I am having to figure out what I want to use.
I have to say that with Simply Charlotte Mason you are more free to piece things together. With My Father’s World the year planned out for you. They are both really good options. I’ve found that I lean more toward SCM because I don’t want to be “boxed” in to certain subjects. I like to pick things my kids are interested in. Does that help a little?
Great video. Im curious why you didn't choose MFW for your 1st grader
My son started to dread school so I knew I had to switch something. I didn’t want him to have those feelings so early into his education. He loved the kindergarten curriculum with MFW so I had high hopes he’d continue to like it. It also taught reading in a way I wasn’t used to. I had always used All About Reading for my kids to learn how to read. Nothing major made me switch. I guess the simple answer was that it wasn’t right for us.
@@Libertyschoolhouseplanshow is it different in the way it teaches reading compared to AAR?
We are loving Science Shepherd. We've tried Apologia a couple times and it just wasnt for us.

Hi babe! Why are you not using Latin like you use to? We are doing challenge next year and I didn’t even think about the grammar. We switched to abeka mid year with kinder because my daughter treaded it. :( now I feel like we are starting over lol
It was getting to be too much. So we pulled back and decided to just focus on vocab and declensions. Hoping we can get back to the exercises come Challenge B.

There is zero pressure to do it all! You can scale to where he’s at. Yes, we still use Saxon Math.
