I have a brother who is an atheist, and he says that he believes in science. He is disgusted at me because I believe in the Eternal God. I have been given enough evidence for my faith. I didn't deserve it, but my Eternal God decided to show a couple of things that nothing in this world can. Baruch HaShem!!!
Your brother is not an atheist. An atheist is one who doesn’t believe in anything at all. If he believes in science… well yeah he’s not an atheist. Perhaps using that mindset that comfort zone due to inner struggles that is so uncomfortable for him, he’ll rather just use these atheistic tools to smooth the pain. Please understand when I say this, not knowing your brother, I speak from experience with a personal friend.
As a previous atheist, I feel like that may be an issue that’s never resolved. I’ll tell you know though, he prays when he needs it, I hated the idea of ה׳ but couldn’t stop if I needed it. Be good to him, he doesn’t know what he’s missing. I hope he sees the infinite soon.
I have no desire to proclaim atheism. I live rather quietly with it. The cause of my atheism is based on the metaphysical axioms of existence and consciousness. An axiom is a primary fact that can’t be reduced to smaller parts. Existence exists. If nothing existed, there would be nothing to be conscious of. In order for there to be consciousness, something has to exist to be conscious of. A consciousness, divine or human, that precedes anything to be conscious of is a contradiction. So far, I have found no way to resolve this contradiction except to evade it or abandon it and accept that existence is metaphysically primary. Existence has always existed and always will exist. I say this in a welcoming spirit and not intended to be antagonizing to anyone.
@stu1037 Most religions don't proselytise. Christians and Muslims seem to be on every major street corner but I don't see the others. Anyone however can take their value system into the Voting Booth, that should be no issue. When they make an case for their position it just can't be from an 'authority figure'' that others don't recognise e.g. from God, a book.
To be created out of a need is what I always believe. HaShem Elohim Tzevaot needed to have a family. Just being God is not enough. He has needs, and we are His need ❤️ ♥️ 💜
Great full for finally understanding the bottom line of many things in life with Torah 🎊 🎉 And I just started listening/learning from Jewish teachings a couple of years back. Absolutely I want all of us to be One with G-d.
God is the giver and we are the receiver. He wants our gratitude. The reason we are here is to fulfill that purpose, which is the only purpose. The rest is insidential, so make the rest righteous.
It is perfectly possible to be a committed Jew and also to be what would technically be called an atheist. We don’t believe that G-d exists in the same way as a rock exists. The Jewish concept of God’s existence is not like what other major religions claim for themselves. People get all worked up about atheism and believing in God or not, but it usually has little to do with Judaism or Jewish life. For those who want to insist they don’t believe in G-d, the proper answer is “Good. Now go and study.”
@@keithnicholas No, it does not have to be. You can still study Torah, appreciate Gemara, daven and participate in shul, and, yes, explore the vast riches of secular Yiddishkeit. I'm an Aluminate' that teaches One Humanitarian Truth Under God and a prophet of God's New World's Testament. The reason I teach 1 true belief about God and Jesus is because there is so many religions and sects of the various religions that religion looks like what it will become more and more; a bunch of man made philosophies about God's word. And this confusion will cause more and more people to walk away from God and the behavior of the world will degrade more and more leading to more sin, wickedness and human suffering. Any persons purpose is to use whatever talents and strengths God has given them to better humanity. As the Bhagavad Gita says "serve the welfare of the world.

That kind of God is very cruel to his people who he created to banish them to Hell even if they tried their best to live a moral life because they didn't call him by the right name or believe a certain story. What did he put u into this world for? He could have kept you in heaven where your eyes are not blocked by materialism and you can see him and not deny him. Why did he create you in this world at all if he knew you are bound to be a sinner here because he is more hidden in this world? When god made one rule not to eat from the tree of knowledge, one rule alone, only a fool that is ungrateful and bored would twist the story to say god lied. As i wrote above, be a buddhist you will find answers for the paradox What shall we say in regard to the question: "Why do the divinities that are invoked require the worshipper to be just, although they themselves when entreated consent to perform unjust acts?" In reply to this I am uncertain in respect to what is meant by "performing unjust acts," as the same definition may not appear right both to us and to the gods. We, on the one hand, looking to that which is least significant, consider the things that are present, the momentary life, what it is and how it originates. The beings superior to us, let me say, know for certain the whole life of the soul and all its former lives; and if they bring on a retribution from the supplication of those who invoke them, they do not increase it beyond what is just. On the contrary, they aim at the sins impressed upon the soul in former lifetimes, which men do not perceive, and so imagine that is unjust that they fall into the misfortunes which they suffer. @@pamelakoretsky9909 Im not leading any question, but pointing out a difference of perceptions.
