I used to maintain arcade machines, they are all rigged here in the UK anyway. They work on a percentage based system so until they take a certain amount of money they will never pay out a big prize only cheap crap. Same goes for the claw machines the claws dont grip properly until they take a certain amount of money but if the claw is adjusted incorrectly they will grip too hard and pay out when they arent supposed too you can also get lucky and hook the claw on the tags of the toys.
