    Had my CAT 2000 since 2018. It just ran 5 days straight to help us get through Beryl. We ran a refrigerator and fans without an issue. About 9 hours per gallon.

    Waiting for my 10.5 since July. They now say a Mid January Delivery. Cant wait. Thank you Adventure Rocks for all the Information

      Congrats! I love the storage you get on the back wall of the 10.5. I think the wait will be worth it... I've seen some nice mid-year changes and upgrades they are making like vinyl cushions instead of cloth and better supports on interior storage panel. They seem to continuously make improvements to it, so you'll end up with a nice rig. Will be exciting for sure!

    The 5k heat strip is there to run part time on /off in your temperature (47) so when it gets cold , freezing and below your nice and warm then too🌻

      Installed the tongue storage box today... worked out perfect using your video thank you. I wanted to ask another new owner because my unit was delivered with only a white led exterior light with an on/off switch. It wasnt delivered with the amber/white led light with the on/off/on switch. Factory probably ran out of parts.

      @@boosttv5688 I gotcha. Yeah, you're probably right. One thing that can be kinda frustrating with RVs and it is every brand...they are constantly changing vendors and suppliers each build cycle...it's gotten worse with coronavirus for sure, but usually they try as best as possible to match or beat the previous component. I would be curious if you pull the switch inside rig to see if you have 3 wires going to it, maybe one capped off? I could see where they kept existing wiring harness, but just changed light in desperation? If you do indeed have 3 wires, then shouldn't be hard to swap out your light and switch in the future. If only two wires then only opotion would be to swap out actual light with another if desired. They make some with removable lenses where you can go from amber to white manually. Anyway, congrats on your rig. You're going to love it. Glad to help!

    I have been looking at a firman 2000watt unit lately but holding out for now, except our Costco has then for $475 so it's tempting. It seems like we got lucky on our 10.6. It came with the Coleman Mach AC unit and the power strip is thermostat controlled but the fan is constant. We have the Truma cooler too. Our heatstrip pulls 1700watts but I'm think a heated blanket would be just fine. 1000-1200watts on the AC if I remember right.

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  3 роки тому +1

      I think you got the nicer AC/heat on your roof with that Coleman! They seem to be quieter too. I kinda like the fan constant like a giant sound machine, same on my Dometic.
      That Firman sounds like a great value. They seem to be on the up and up from what I gather, plus Costco usually vets their brands pretty well.

      @@AdventureRocks I think I did luck out. At first I was bummed that we did not have Dometic items due to seeing all the cool overlander channels with their coolers but then I started researching the Coleman and Truma products and feel pretty good about them now.
      Truma support was awesome. Some panel was delaminating and on the warranty replacement they let me upgrade in size for the price difference.
      Firman was on my watch list so I think I may need to pull the trigger before I regret it. The Costo model has the 30A RV plug too. The etrailer version does not.

      That's awesome that Truma was so helpful. Heard good things about them.

    Was the Cat Inv2000 able to run your AC? Looking at buying one of these trailers and I’m wondering if an inverter generator that size would run the AC as well as the heat strips. Love your videos!

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  3 роки тому +1

      Thank you! Yes :) with some stipulations. AC must be on low. Must turn charger breaker off to prevent it from consuming watts that AC needs (kinda confusing, but hope that makes sense). However, generator is definitely at the max capacity when it cycles on, and if it is super hot out, AC may have to work harder than normal consuming more watts and potentially tripping generator. So in short, yes it can run AC, but with special circumstances. I've been planning to do a follow-up video, but just have not had the time yet. It is definitely on my list to do over the next few months! :) So in summary if you're looking for something foolproof that can handle the AC in full I would step up to something closer to 2500 running Watts, but if you're just looking for occasional use of the AC then I think it's a great compact choice.

      Thank you! I have a Honda EU3000IS but it’s big and really heavy. Was hoping a 2k watt generator would run everything.

    • @AdventureRocks
      @AdventureRocks  3 роки тому +2

      @@johng1811 Agreed! I like a compact one that won't break the back while moving it around if you know what I mean. I plan to video the CAV INV2000 + Dometic 13.5K BTU AC and get it uploaded later this month, but spoiler alert is basically that it CAN do it, but pretty much has no more capacity to run anything else, and it can be hit or miss getting started initially. Sometimes when I turn AC on first time the gen will fault/overload in the first few seconds, but once it feeds the load properly it seems to be fine. So works, just not gracefully. And you can really hear the gen ramp up ea time the compressor on AC cycles on and off. But suprisingly it does handle it. Anyway, look for a video later this month on that one.
