He should have done it in finals, he’d be a free man
I remember a month ago Robbo was wanting Jesse Hogan suspended for 2-3 weeks for a love tap. But this - and with all the damage incurred - is only 4 weeks? Give us a spell. What's the agenda or bias? Robbo knows the Parker family?
whiskey in the drink bottle
sydney is the afls first love child. special treatment.
That's an argument for punishing action over consequences.
Robbo's a moron. We all know this. He throws his opinions around and changes them to suit the moment or his newspapers agenda. He's never been a good journo either. A bottom feeder.
Robbo certainly has suffered a few "car crash" type head knocks
Drinking induced
Fans need to recognize that the other player is just a bloke with a job . The distain shown towards him is how the player and coach would treat any normal fan . He’s not important, so bash him is the attitude. If it in first grade then yes 4 weeks . This is assault
Parker should get 10 weeks alone for being the biggest flog in AFL
?
My god totally cleans him up and now we’re defending the hitter. Make up your mind one week it’s acceptable then it’s not
Like I said Peter wright does less damage than Parker does and they want Peter for 4 but Luke for 3?
Robbo, every week: We must do better to protect the head! The MRO and Tribunal are letting the game and the community down! If you choose to bump, you suffer the consequences!
Robbo, today: It's the VFL's carpenter's fault that he got knocked unconscious, concussion, had a broken eye socket, broken face, and will lose earnings from his tradie work
🙃
Robbo the HS click bait master of idiocy.
Being a good bloke means nothing when it comes to actions on-field. I completely disagree with both of them....Parker claims to be blocking, yet there was another player on his team mates right shoulder as they passed by....imo - NOT a block, he ( Parker ) didn't have to make contact at all, but he chose to and that action created the injuries sustained by the opposing player - should be 6 min - 8 if the VFL are serious about this concussion hill they sit on.
Dude that’s a legit shepherd, was inside the legal requirement of allowed shepherd , unfortunately he got him high that player should have expected contact , it’s a contact sport ffs
A legit shepherd ??? Enjoy your gig at the Comedy Club - with this type of material they’ll be rolling in the aisles
Legit shepherd....? Um, you stoned? He was beyond the contest, ball nowhere near the bump and he raised his forearm. Didn't need to bump at all. You win "dumbest comment on this video" by a long margin. Congratulations!!
@@shannonpincombe8485 100% 👏👏👏
good outcome. parker ignored the ball to pick-off someone following the ball but at least third in line to gather the ball. he would not be expecting parker to approach him in this way. what was parker thinking? was he frustrated & distracted at his afl plight? he will have time now to reflect on his behaviour, his mindset & his career.
You think 6 weeks makes sense? A suspension was warranted but 6 weeks is utterly over the top in keeping with other adjudications over the last year. Are you forgetting Maynard. He also "failed in his duty of care".
@@kingwillbisthebestAre you serious?.. Two completely different situations. Wake up to yourself.
@@victorpeirce4753 Yeah, different in the sense that one act ended a decorated career and the other was a head to head collision. Every AFL supporter should be disgusted by this 6 week ban just as we were disgusted by Maynard's career ending hit with no repercussion from a weak AFL. But hey, it's Collingwood. They've always been looked after and they always will be.
You obviously haven't heard of a sheppard.. you don't go for the ball if your team mate already has it.. you sheppard your team mate. Well played by parker. The Collingwood player needs to wake up
he just needed to put a block on for space, he accelerated into him. Too much force for the situation unfortunately. Just wasnt necessary. didnt help the Franga player want looking! poor dude.
consistency is what we want. however as we’ve seen the afl is doing what they said they wouldn’t which is punishing the outcome, not the action. another footy action gone wrong but a rabbit punch gets one?
that’s in the past but toby brings a good point. when a player chooses to bump its now a concern IF damage is done. best wishes to joshy as that is definitely gonna sideline him for a while and he’ll have a lot more to manage for a bloke in the vfl, speedy recovery mate
i think people r overreacting when they say things like this will kill our game. these r freak accidents and at the end of the day we’re all turning on the tv thursday or friday nights. but it sucks to see this. players like trac welcome contact. obviously josh smith didn’t want to get taken out but it happened to a head clash, no malice. but this is where we r with it and hopefully it’ll look after players in the future
I'm so with you there, deliberate punches get next to nothing and tackles get weeks. Any gutpunch/jaw punch should be 2 weeks min. Hewett punched neale in the jaw and got a fine, like how stupid can the afl be. This bump should 100% be 6 weeks, he broke a kids face
@@Tosicc567 yeah and it’s vfl too. mates probably got a full timer monday to friday which sucks when ur on his money compared to parks. i hope they do a full rework on the system bc the mro marking off damage done and then the tribunal not being able to lower that seems dumb. it is a tribunal after all
@@papleylivesrentfreeinurhead yeah he's unable to work. He only played footy part time, so its pretty fair to suspend him for a bit. The kid cant make a living for a good bit whilst his face heals
ye I feel like he literally gets him up the gut and the top of his head accidentally breaks his fucking jaw like what are the odds. He went to block the bloke hard up the sternum and the dude got unlucky how are you gonna rub someone out for weeks and weeks for that? And I completely agree with your point about the gut/jumper punches... as if they don't set the literal worst example for young footballers doing that, but they get nothing and then you get weeks for routine tackles or aerial contests.
pretty deliberate, bloke didnt even have the ball.
Why do they keep bringing up the good bloke thing? Cameron didnt get off because of that they clearly stated that was being thrown out, he got off because there was barely any impact and lever threw himself into the ground. Parker got unlucky, the afl have shown even with head clashes in legal bumps you will get suspended. That part sucks, an accidental head clash is pretty rough but thats how it goes when you choose to bump and get them high. 4 weeks woulda felt better but it was a pretty big hit
So if someone ran into the back of a player standing still and broke jaw, ribs, eye socket they should get rubbed out for 6 weeks. My god is that as bad as calling someone a poofter.
apples and oranges
he called them the f word... slightly massively worse
@@zachlee7945I'd rather be called a f*ggot than drink through a straw.
do we need to argue one or the other? homophobia really doesnt have a place in the game. afl said that the more this happens the higher the punishment.
Interesting scenario, slightly different to the Parker incident, however your unanswered question , at the end , remains an unanswered question at an end
I don't understand how you can try and integrate 'impact' on the one hand, with 'player character' on the other, as if getting clobbered hurts any less if it's done by a good bloke. Why not consider at the same time the character of the injured player? Makes about as much sense. I wonder if there's some logic in determining the suspension based on how much time the injured player is recovering for +1 week (except in cases where the player is subsequently medically retired).
Imagine the uproar from longmire and shitney if this happened to parker from a Frankston player. 6 weeks is pathetic
They'd be asking to have the bloke deregistered and charged by police.
Got him high in a non footy act, how someone can argue that it would only be 4 weeks is laughable. Nothing short of a 6 week ban. The impact on the other player that this action has cause will be greater than a 6-8 week recovery.
Disagree that it's a non footy act, it's a clumsy shepherd/block. Punching, tripping, spitting, eye gouging is a non footy act.
It's a Shepard against a clueless player not protecting himself and they clashed heads... Super unlucky
@@kezp8114clueless player??? Clueless comment - see I can do it too!! You don’t know the player & you comment like that!! Just poor …
@@waynewoff8345 is this the first game of AFL you've ever watched? If you're chasing an opponent you expect a sheppard... If you run into a player standing almost still and you're so blissfully unaware of his existence that you crumple in half and smack your face into the back of his head, then You're clueless
@@kezp8114 just keep posting & digging the hole. #CluelessComment
*Yeah Parker has Blue Balls because he is in the 2s because Taylor Adams has taken his spot in the seniors. Id be ropable too. Parker is a way better player than Taylor Adam's 💯%*
Swans players always start back in the 2’s, he’s missed one week beyond that, it’s barely worth talking about.. and it’s more that Heeney is on fire, Adam’s is playing a completely different role to Parker
Probably the most gutless act we’ve seen since the gaff king hit on brayshaw.
Parker deserves 8 weeks for this cowardly act. It was a straight up snipe off the ball. Parker the fake hardman snipping vfl players off the ball what an absolute flog
you never saw Brereton play?
Wow! They want 4-5 weeks for that? Im not even a Swans fan and think this is utter BS.. They're clinging to the outcome rather than the morion.. Complete BS.. Media and these talking heads are ruining our game..
We're *HEADING TOWARDS TOUCH FOOTY*
Mark my words
The Tribunal has always looked at the outcome as well as the action. Regardless of the action or the player's intention, if you break someone's jaw (graded as severe impact and high contact), you will always be in trouble. Only exception if it was somehow incidental when contesting the ball. It clearly isn't the case here. Parker obviously went to bump the Frankston player.
Lol. You're an idiot.
You think concussion, being unconscious, broken eye, broken face for an unnecessary act on a VFL player that's getting a match day payment of $300 is OK? lol.
It was a snipe off the ball. This has never been acceptable. You’re clearly a complete nuff
@@imalwaysrighthe should wake up and expect to be shepherded when chasing the ball. The game is stuffed, gone so soft, and the afl and media have done such a good job of brainwashing everyone that it seems majority are fine with it, or at least says they are publicly cause they don't wanna give a wrong answer and get in trouble, pathetic.
haha toby loves it. sydney flogs hes sayin.
He put on a block. He didn't hit him high, it was a clash of heads. I expect he was used to better opposition.
How would a clash of heads result in one of the players with a broken jaw?
Break someone jaw in a footy match and your a mug
@@andykerass3695 If your name is Andy, you're a mug. This is exactly as relevant as your comment.
@@felixscarlett1542 cos there's both the skull and jaw on your head and one is significantly more rigid than the other
Pretty much. Desperate to get back into the firsts and didn’t accomodate for the slower and less skilled level of the players around him. Not a malicious act.
Elbow to the chin off the ball.
Just saw it. Yep 6 weeks at least.
What goes around comes around Mr.Parker. I remember fondly you made fun of the Essendon team for being soft. Look at what your “toughness” has achieved. Enjoy your vacation on the sidelines.
what's really a piss take is that this blokes get every day life to deal with. Parker should have to pay him. Might start seeing less of this if the offending player has to pay the victim.
A few weeks ago Jed Walter kneed a player in the back of the head and didn't get suspended, this ban is a farce. Why can a player cause a head injury when going for a specky mark but putting a block on and causing an accidental head knock gets 6 weeks.
Learn the rules mate, Parker chose to bump
@@kokmuncher6702yeah it's called a sheppard mate.. the sport has gone soft
@@kokmuncher6702 Bumpung isn't banned, what rules need to be learned? Causing a head injury is the problem yet you can do it in a marking contest but not blocking off the ball. Stupid
That incident was in play, going for the ball. Parker wasn't going for the ball. He chose to bump and raise his forearm. Thug act...deserves weeks.
@@fire_titan5735nah mate, he wasn't in the play or shepherding with his body as he wasn't between the ball, the player with the ball and the chasing opponent. He passed the contest and bumped, raised his arm and hit the chasing opposition player in the face. How is this not a reportable act in your eyes? As for "within the rules" this is not within the rules as the ball wasn't immediately near the impact of these two players. Parker ran beyond the contest and hit the opposing player. Simple...suspension and six weeks is fitting.
Should be fit for the finals
If the victims season is over from the hit then the player that did the hit should also have their season finished!
Should go to Collingwood next year, he could’ve ended the blokes career and got off 😂
*Barry Hall KOs Brent Staker who wasn't looking on purpose and gets 8 weeks. Parker bumps some Dolphin and gets 6 weeks? Makes sense?*
That was 15 years ago you absolute nuff
@@kokmuncher6702 Doesn't matter how long ago. Go EADC.
I support the Swans, but he had to know he was in big trouble immediately. No way the AFL can slap him on the wrist for that.
Can we just take a second to remember that Maynard ended a blokes career and got to play the next week. But oh that’s right.. iT hApPeNed iN a fiNaL
Looked no worse then Toby Green bump. Just different leg action, can coaches teach battlefield awareness, or is that impossible. The kid looked like he was day dreaming when he ran into Parker shoulder 😮
6 weeks 😂😂 AFL is becoming softer every year.
Keep going down this track and the NRL - which has sensible rules - will take some ground
Only coconut heads with negative IQ play rugby.
The only ones stupider are the ones who watch it
From what i see didn't hit him in the head at all, it was all shoulder
Yeah broken face never happened... are you crazy!?!?
@@noctisgriggs4873 broke his jaw when their heads collided.... because parks chose to bump
The head clash caused the injury
Footy just ain’t footy anymore
He probably has a job too NO excuse what Parker did. 6-8 week holiday
If you play in the AFL/VFL you are fully insured and this includes income protection. Financially, the kid will be fine.
Dude ran past the ball, bobbed up from behind another player and put a shirtfront on. 6 weeks is fair enough. Was a dog act, and he'll forever be remembered for it.
it was a shepherd. he s not lining him up even trac said this happens all the time. obv a suspension but this is not even the same as the jimmy webster incident
@@papleylivesrentfreeinurhead take your red and white coloured glasses off and have another look.
It was wrong but the modern player does not how to protect himself. If you played in 80 or 90 you were not as oblivious, still does not condone action
6 games?!? What a joke!!!!!
How can it be a bump he was stationary and the other player ran into him its called shepherding
Go get your eyes checked.
Agree... The bloke is in lala land
@@Simmo_AU👏👏👏
A shepherd isn’t stopping, turning you shoulder and lining up to hit someone hard. The he wasn’t moving argument is weak because he stopped to line him up so he deserves a massive ban. You can’t expect other players to be ready for it because you are looking for the ball not for others that have stopped to line you up
@@knight2425 all I'm saying is, if he had an inkling of awareness he'd not have smashed his face, and it would be 1-2 weeks at most. Players need to protect themselves at all times. I don't care if you think otherwise, they're playing a full contact sport. Protect yourself at all times.
Lenny kravitz/Billy idol afl pre game entertainment grand final 😂😂❤❤❤😂😂😂😂❤❤😂😂😂😂😂😂
I honestly can’t believe what this game has become anymore. 6 weeks for that is outrageous. Hate it for Josh, no one especially Luke Parker wanted that outcome. Say goodbye to the AFL game we all use to love.
none of what happened is part of the fabric of the game lol. are you volunteering to get knocked unconscious, concussion, broken eye socket, broken cheekbones, and the rest, as well as loss of earnings and costs. @@imalwaysright go play ping pong if you don’t want to play a contact sport. No one wants to cause those injuries but the context of the bump and timing was not egregious in any way. You can run your mouth all you like but you’re missing the point.
Well said
@@vadimdale267not egregious? Your fucking delusional mate, 2-3 meters off the ball, slows to pretty much a walk and proceeds to break the man’s jaw in a bump that wasn’t in 1 thousand years necessary, it’s 6 weeks full stop, you can says it’s a contact sport all you like, but that’s not the stuff you sign up for.

Why is Toby Greene making comments on this? He’s the biggest dog in the sport, he’s got nothing to say on Luke Parker
New rules for sure. Sheperding is banable now.

Fox Footy are becoming a joke. They really sound like they have no idea and change their opinions each week. Real turkeys.
Don't they mean the AFL tribunal.
It was VFL Tribunal. They are separate and have their own rules.

@@brujonpatrick4779 Yeah we lost Henry to Geelong ! stayed a few years and f---ed off !
Parker should be free to play, just a block that happens all the time. Opponent had no game awareness.
I dont think there was much malice there, it's almost the other blokes fault for not protecting himself
Are you serious? He stopped and turned his side to give him a big bump, it was premeditated to inflict a hard hit where as the other player had eyes on the play. It was a weak cheap shot from Parker and he deserves a massive ban especially when you see an incident like Powell Pepper cop a big ban for a last minute decision
@@knight2425 yes it was just a regulation bump, the other player wasn't paying attention and he's now paying the price. Parker didn't intend harm
@rum02 So during the last two years when the AFL has made it clear if you go to bump a player thenonus is on you to make sure you don't hurt the other player you believe this doesn't apply now? To cause that much damage to a players dace shows it was more than a regulation bump and he clearly stopped and lined him up so it was pretty meditated. He deserves a very big suspension when you take into account Powell Pepper getting 4 weeks for a last minute bump that only concussed a player, there needs to be consistency
@@knight2425 the reason the player got so injured was because he wasn't braced for contact, it was a regulation bump. I agree with the suspension he was given because the injury sustained were so severe but I also don't believe Parker was trying to hurt him.
@@rum02 the onus is on the player electing to bum0 not the player being bumped, that has been made very clear for sometime now so you can’t shift blame. It was deliberate and premeditated because you see him stop and turn to bump with his shoulder and it was a decent hit, the injuries confirm it so it has to be a big penalty considering the one Powell Pepper got and this is worse.
Always been a dog….
