That is why when a person dies... the spirit leaves the body and the body falls to the ground to return to dust. Yet then the spirit goes to one of two places. Paradise... or Spirit Prison depending on the position and under standing they have of Christ. Then after judgement... The Apostle Paul spoke about the different bodies that are given in the resurrection. He likened them to the stars, moon and sun and the different degrees of glory that these have. So there will come a time when spiritual will no longer be spiritual... but will be united with a body of flesh and bone... just like Jesus has after his resurrection. And believe this or not... Christ has a body just like the Father has.

And... what did the Apostle Peter have to say about the Gospel being preached to the dead??? Look in 1 Peter 4: 6 For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit. Also... 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit: 19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison; 20 Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. As you know... in the days of Noah... all the wicked people drowned in the flood. The only righteous people who survived were Noah's family. What about all those people who died. Hell?? No... Jesus went and preached to them. They were in what is called... Spirit Prison. This is where the dead have the opportunity hear the Gospel of Christ, repent and accept it. In the Gospel of Jesus Christ if you take the words of Jesus, you have to wonder how did those of the Christian faith get away from what he told us we must do?? Anytime we "do" something Christians will say.. that is works and we don't do works. They also get this from Paul. But they don't understand who Paul was speaking to. When you look at the Law of Moses... baby... that was works!!! Don't eat this only do that, etc. etc. etc. And the Apostle Paul was dealing with Jews who were demanding for example... that any Gentile that accepted Christ... need to be circumcised. Again... still applying the Law of Moses. When you look at how long these people lived the Law... it was ingrained into them. They could not believe nor understand how to "let the law go". So Paul in dealing with them would try to make them understand that the Law is not the Gospel of Christ. He would say things like your works are like filthy rags. By Grace are ye saved... not by your works. And the works he was speaking about had to do with the Law of Moses. And yet... the 10 words that were written on both sides of the tablet... 5 on one side and 5 on the other... were all done at one time. These were give to them before the Law of Moses was given to them. When Jesus fulfill the Law of Moses... that did not include the 10 upon the tablet. It is really interesting to note that King James did a lot of translating and changed a few things. But I got side tracked. Jesus said and taught his Disciples .. Repent and be baptized. And then to prove his point... Jesus himself was baptized. So now I ask... how can a baby repent? God expects that one who will repent... needs to understand first... what that means. And then after repenting... the get baptized. And how was Jesus baptized? Did john just pour water on his head? No... by immersion. So if Jesus can do these things and he has not sinned... how can we not do them? It was said that Jesus was baptized to fulfill all righteousness. It was a requirement of the Father that all must be baptized. So then even after the death of Christ... in the Acts of the Apostles we again have Peter saying: 38 And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit” (2:37-38). And how was the Gift of the Holy Spirit given? Turn to the Scriptures: 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. 3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized?
