    My first mod was the Barton Hybrid 3 SHORT THROW SHIFTER... mounted to the trans.

  • @RSDX99

    IMO, this is just a band-aid. The Blowfish trans mount seems to be the best fix for a sloppy shifter. The shifter is supposed to be mounted to the trans, not the body.

      +RSD yeah I haven't really been too impressed with this particular fix for the shifter sloppiness

    Why didn't you just use some grease?

    Thanks for showing in the install. I can't stand vibration in my hand. Pass for me.

    Is your short shifter a trans mount of just a swap to she shaft on the stock shifter?

    I thought the bushing went in the front side of the mount?? The side facing the motor? does it matter which side it goes in?

    • @HereWeGoNow
      @HereWeGoNow  7 років тому

      +MustafaGT Not to my knowledge. I don't believe it would fit flush in the cross mount.

    • @MustafaGT
      @MustafaGT 7 років тому +1

      Per these instructions, the bushing should insert in the front of the cross member, not in the rear.

      Steeda used the same design and goes in the rear, like how I installed it.
      I don't think it really matters and honestly I don't stand behind the modification as it causes too much NVH to really be a worthwhile mod.

    weird how everyone with the Whiteline and Steeda inserts have nvh but I used the Energy Suspension insert and have ZERO nvh and i didnt drill a single hole in it!

    • @HereWeGoNow
      @HereWeGoNow  7 років тому

      +Kel Krst yeah, it seems to be sporatic. Some dont have an issue and others its very noticeable. Mine was awful.

      I just installed both the energy suspension transmission and mount bushings. The shifter bushing seems to be working. The transmission mount bushing through a certain rpm range is enough to rattle your teeth out. I did not drill any holes. It will be coming back out soon. I did however find a trick to install it. Use Dow Corning DC4 to lube it. It made a huge difference.

      In case anyone is wondering I have the 5.0. From what I’ve seen reading reviews the 5.0’s have the nvh, where the EcoBoost motors don’t seem to have issues.

    Damn the MT-82! I can't wait for the transmission gear oil change! What fluid you using? Thought about having the dealer change my gear oil. I heard good things about the BG syncro 2

      +drockhead Yeah, no kidding! I am using the BG syncro 2 fluid actually.

      I seen a video looks pretty easy. Just pump it in and screw the plugs back. But in that video the guy didn't have an S550 but he got some wine noise after doing which scares the crap outta me. that's why I think i rather the dealer do it but I really look forward to your video. I'm DUNDEM on the 6G forum if you're on there.

    Any tips on how to remove the bushing? Seems like almost impossible to remove once installed.

    • @HereWeGoNow
      @HereWeGoNow  7 років тому +3

      +Abdul Khan you should have access to the other side and be be able to push it out slowly or use a pry bar or screw driver to pry it out from the front.

    • @HereWeGoNow
      @HereWeGoNow  6 років тому +3

      +Jolie the Blue Stang honestly, I wouldn't recommend it, but others don't have any issues with it. With mine it made the transmission shake between certain rpms.

      HereWeGo yeah man... the MGW setup has been bullet proof for me so far... seems to work well with the mount... still NO NVH or vibration... still firm and gears smooth as butter... absolutely no lock out so far...

    • @HereWeGoNow
      @HereWeGoNow  7 років тому

      +John F had one on my new edge and loved it! Decided on the tri ax this time and the biggest issue is that the lock out spring rattles at the mid RPM range...but its such a pain to install that I dont feel like pulling it out and replacing it with the MGW....yet

      I installed in in both directions. Unfortunately, they both lead to awful vibrations in the transmission. Even after modifying it and drilling a larger hole it still was something I couldn't recommend to anyone.
