Some of the finest pickers in Bluegrass, The award winning Boxcars pick with the legendary JD Crowe at the NC Five String Fest. Special appearance from some of the Grascals!
Wow! What a tremendous warm welcome to the best of the best 5 stringer of our time. This scene WILL live in the minds and hearts forever of all lovers of great bluegrass music and, of course, The One, The Only J . D. Crowe
Awesome, as always. . . I especially love the syncopated stuff Crowe plays while doing backup for Adam Steffey's mandolin break, at around 1:30 or so . . .
We won't just like there's no other earl scruggs there will never be another jd crowe period. Ya know its quite ironic but you noticed all those guys around jd And the others watching him pick They new in that moment when he took his banjo break they all smiled cuz they know he's still got it but won't have it for long. When jds gone that's it. These pickers today got great talent no doubt but jd is got the smoothest hands in bluegrass I've heard. No one can do it like he can. His unique blusey style and backup riffs is awesome and his timeing is supperb. He can fit in with any band around anywhere. Mr crowe I thank you and your trusted 1933 rare gibson style 3 ORIGINAL NO HOLE FLATT HEAD BANJO you call the banger and the new south for all of your contribution to the fans and What you mean to blugrass and what you done for it. Thank you sir

Where will we find another J.D. Crowe.
strawman8 Earl Scruggs invented and was great but JD has long been this old man's favorite!
We won't. !!
Ron just plays the break and splits
Ron was going to help me hook up our in-ear monitor rig.
And of course JD picks up the baritone part that Ron was singing...
Ron copied Bobby's fiddle part perfectly. Amazing!
Why did everyone start dropping like flies?
Harold Nixon just leaves and the rest of the band just keeps right on time
You don’t need a bass player with steffy on mandolin.
Jds right hand looks more like a claw and his fingers are talons
Where is this?
