- Cat 8 PART TWO: When an accident sends a solar flare four times larger than Earth plunging toward the planet, Military scientist Dr. Jane Brandt calls upon the one man who can possibly reverse the cataclysm: a government outsider and renegade ad-hoc scientist. Now that's how you make a movie without spending ridiculous amounts of money and then trying to recoup that from viewers. It's definitely better than a lot of blockbuster films in theatres. Keep up the great work!!!

Part 1 and 2 a excellent series of movies . Very interesting and entertaining.

I give this film an A+.
Except where they park this big truck right on the edge of a fissure, and the doc literally jumps up and down on the edge of the miles deep Cliff saying, "feels pretty solid, as long as there's no earth tremor" (immediately rumbling is heard) Then there's another of those firefights with the military and no one is hit....but hey, the beam works and it's all good! Yay! 😊
Both 1 & 2 are nail biters really great acting and production let’s have more of this standard

Even in movies, there is always a bent politician representing real life! The political agenda on planet earth is now extremely toxic, and still the vast majority remain in their slumber!
In real life they are pretty much all bent. The few exceptions are only proof of the point.

watched both parts. after watching it I think this 2 part series is decent enough to watch and intellectually stimulating enough. it is plausible that this could occur because some people who should not be in charge of others always manage to find their way there and mess things up. it is up to us to try and stand up against this in a peaceful manner if this happens because if we strive to better the world, we strive to better ourselves.

it's time for action and choosing sides !! meaning do the right thing and choose the right people, no matter the cost.. because sometimes to do the right thing means sacrifice, nothing good comes easy ! basically the world is split in two, good and bad, if people realize that and use discernment and pray to God to guide their thoughts and actions, i think we'll be able to fix the future of the entire planet !! if not however, we' ll continue accelerating downhill like we are doing now

Government is ran mostly by power hungry zealots with a few good people thrown in to do the right thing sometimes. Damage control is a very high paying job because if heads must roll, they roll them without asking why.

It's Big Business and government that you can't trust...need to be vigilant. When the military and federal government owned NASA, there were many things, from medical procedures to new materials to technology that benefitted the average person. The biggest benefit was the amount of federal money that went into schools to beef up science, technology and math instruction, from kindergarten to college (Reagan cut this in the 1980s). When NASA functions were broken up and outsourced to big business, also in the 1980s, the benefits stopped.
The knee-jerk response is to blame government, but increasingly, big business is intruding in every aspect of government in every country. And what about the voters....are we paying attention? Or being too busy being outraged and trolling?
After a normaly stressful day, Both the first and second episodes of this movie are an excellent way to decompress😊

This movie was and is so surreal of what just may happen today. I rate this movie, part one and now watching this part two a rating from 1 - 10; I honestly give this movie a rating of 15, well beyond a 10. This was a DAMN G-O-O-D movie and well educational for all to know, learn and hopefully live by in knowing that this might just happen to us, fellow Americans and we need to take heed, a warning before time to get ourselves prepared in whatever way necessary. I so agree. If there is excessive swearing we stop watching the movie. Also I find the extended sex scenes over the top. I know what goes on in the bedroom, I have 3 children but sometimes I find almost porna graphic. Enjoyed the show though

Every Actor portrait their Characters so, beautifully and so real life, which kept me on the edge of my seat throughout the Movie. I Loved Part 1 and Part 2 is just as good. What happened was an E.M.P electromagnetic pulse and we are actually 70+ years overdue for one and here in the next 2-5 years it is more than likely to happen. I suggest watching "e.m.p 333 days" it is a really good movie and you CAN watch it on UA-cam.(I'm only 12 and have never even heard of what an E.M.P was until 2 days ago and I've learned so much from my father who is a nerd for this stuff. It's crazy what school never talks about. Isn't it?)

Surprisingly enjoyable. I found myself emotionally invested to the point that I was really hating the SOD. The worst part about it is how closely it portrayed the dysfunctional and abusive nature of government authority. Our "liberty" is a fantasy that we are sold in order to keep us docile. Overall, the movie was well done.....great acting performances , with real tension, although it kind of bugged me that Matthew Modine's character continued to be hard on his son-in-law. That kid stuck his neck out for him on multiple occasions and was nothing but loyal to him and his daughter. He could have eased up on the snide disapproval at some point within the two movies. It didn't detract from the overall plot though. As for the plot lines, there were some obvious technical issues, such as the ridiculousness of how they portrayed the detonation of the MK80 in the bore hole with a cruise missile. (there is no way to even fit a bomb down a bore hole that size, let alone hit something 40k feet down with a cruise missile. But there are always flaws like that in such movies. Pretty good movie, in the end.
You said it. It's A MOVIE! The point being the scenario isn't too far fetched. Everyone wants answers when they voted on the screw up. People are power hungry on every level. What good would being the sole survivor in a dying world do you? You'd go mad and die alone.

In addition, they are doing it at the wrong altitude. And, with the more deadly elements, it reeking havoc.
Funny thing, though, the increasingly higher sulphur jet fuel, is at least closer to the right altitude, and the sulphur rich fuel being used, is being done for economic reasons, accidentally.

This is a movie, but it shows what happens in real life...while most people strive to make things better and solve problems, there is always a fellow or entity with significant influence always working to the contrary (like the defense secretary in this case)-seeking GLORY for themselves, even at their own cost!

I don't see many comments about Chicago being destroyed, what about the west coast? The polar ice caps partially melting, and all the marine life. I'm grateful that the main characters had so many different skills. It's a great concept movie, recommend totally. I'm guessing this can prove people can learn anything, well the science would take a totally different mindset of making theory into practicality, so many obstacles, hope for humanity to be more pro active. Thanks for this movie, I have a lot of things to think about
