The Seven Ahruf of the Quran are Revelations from God, by which Muslims were allowed to read the Quran in seven variant ways of recitation. These revelation-based recitations refer to the same text. They also contain some dialects of the Arabs, but not all. It was revealed in the Madinah on the 9th of al-Hijrah. The Prophet PBUM recited them and taught them to his companions, then their successors taught them to the next, etc. The seven variant ways of recitation were revealed by God so, it is from the same source; as God SWA is the only authority from the very beginning to send Prophets and to reveal Scriptures. Gabriel initially taught the prophet to recite in one mode ( the dialect of Quraish, the tribe of prophet Muhammad) but the prophet kept asking Allah for more modes until they reached seven modes “Seven Ahruf” to make it easy for the believers. The Prophet’s intention was to make the recitation of the Quran easy for the various Arab tribes who entered Islam, taking into consideration the different social statuses of the people at the time. Therefore, there is no problem with having Divine ways of recitation. Hence, the search for authenticity has to do with the proof of the divinity of the Quran and the truthfulness of its Carrier PBUH. If we proved the divinity of these revelation-based variant recitations, so we accept whatever comes after. •What are The 7 Qirat of The Quran? The seven Qirat of the Quran technically refers to “agreed upon (by Muslim scholars) oral recitation methods of Quran.” Qira’at (pl. of Qirah) in the Quran refers to the various ways of reciting the Holy Quran. They are different lexical, phonetic, linguistic, morphological, and syntactical manners permitted with reciting the Quran. Each Qirah has its own certain rules of recitation and variations in words and letters. Qira’at also refers to the branch of Islamic studies that deals with these recitation manners. Thus, Qira’at are the verbalization of the Quran, and the Quran is preserved in Qira’at. Schools of Qira’at, each one derives its name from a famous reader of Quran recitation taught by the Messenger (PBUH). These Qira’at differ only in ways that DO NOT IN ANY WAY COMPROMISE MEANINGS OR PERMIT WHAT IS FORBIDDEN. For example, There is English with an Irish accent, English with a Scottish accent and so on. Can I say “There are different kinds of English, Irish, Scottish, …?!” How many Qiraat are there? Traditionally, there are 10 recognized (agreed upon by Muslim scholars), derived from the seven ahruf mentioned above. Of which seven are categorized by a Muslim scholar “Abu Bakr Ibn Mujahid is the most authentic and accepted. All Sahih Qira’at (authentic) were taught and revised orally and personally by the Prophet (PBUH) with his companions till the end of his blessed life, according to a Sahih Hadith (authentic Prophetic saying) narrated by Ibn Masoud. Each Qirah is named after a famous reader of Quran recitation taught by the Messenger (PBUH) like Asim Al-Kufi and Naafi’ Al-Madani. What makes the Qirah Authentic? For a Qirah to be considered authentic, these conditions must be all met: 1.The condition of Tawaatur: having an authentic chain of narration (Reliable, numerous and continuous chain of narrators) back to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). 2.The variations in recitations should match known Arabic grammatical constructions. In the case of unusual constructions, it could be verified by their existence in passages of pre-Islamic prose or poetry that are known. 3.The recitation should coincide with the script of one of the copies of the Quran distributed during the era of Caliph Uthman which is written according to Quraysh’s dialect (the tribe of the Prophet). How different are the Qiraat? Subhi Al-Saalih in his book in the study of Science of Quran summarizes the differences into seven main categories: Grammatical indicator. Consonants. Nouns as to whether they are singular, dual, plural, masculine or feminine. Differences in which there is a substitution of one word for another. Due to the reversal of word order in expressions where the reversal is meaningful in the Arabic language in general or in the structure of the expression in particular. Small addition or deletion in accordance with the custom of the Arabs. Due to dialectical peculiarities. Some differences between the Qira’at miraculously complement one another to add new valid beautiful meanings to the verses. So, it is a way to increase the meanings that can be deduced from a single verse. Many books have been written in this subject and many books of Tafsir (Quran interpretation) also mention examples of these. A fact to remember; all those Qira’at are authentic and traced all the way back to the Messenger Muhammad (PBUH). The Qira’at represent what remained from the seven Ahruf of the Quran, which can fit with the final unified manuscript of Uthman. The printed versions of the Qiraat of the Quran? Qira’at exist in printed editions as well nowadays. Even most Muslims are not aware of this fact, but each Mus’haf (printed Quran) carries either in the beginning or in the end the rules of pronunciation of that Qira’ah as well as the Isnad (narration authentication). However, It must be said that the first written Quran was dictated by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) to specific known companions immediately after revelation, as well as the memorizers and those writings were the source of the first round of Quran collection and authentication during Abu Bakr’s time (first Calif) and the second round of Quran collection and authentication during Uthman’s time (third Calif) in Quraysh tribe dialect. Both writings were devoid from dots and diacritical markings which were introduced later on by Muslim scholars to insure correct pronunciation of the written Quran in accordance with the recited authentic Qira’at. Muslim scholars introduced dots and diacritical markings to Arabic writing. The most renowned of are Abu’l Aswad ad-Du’alî (d. 69 / 688), Naṣr Ibn ʿĀṣim (d. 89 / 707) and Yaḥya Ibn Yaʿmur (d.129 /746). •Conclusion - How many copies of the Quran are there? There is only one version of the Quran in the World. However, there are Qira’at that are not the different “versions” or “texts” of the Qur’an as fantasized by non-Muslims and anti-Islamists. Qira’at are authentic divine revelations of Quran that are handed down unaltered from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Although they differ in some aspects of the way of recitation, they convey the same message.
(Part 3) And on the Hafs and Warsh: Hafs & Warsh Qirâ'ât: Are They Different Versions Of The Qur'an? The Christian missionary Jochen Katz had claimed that Hafs and Warsh Qirâ'ât are different 'versions' of the Qur'an. A concise and interesting article that the missionary had used to reach such a conclusion can be found in the book Approaches of The History of Interpretation of The Qur'an. Ironically, it contained an article by Adrian Brockett, titled "The Value of Hafs And Warsh Transmissions For The Textual History Of The Qur'an", which sheds some light on various aspects of differences between the two recitations. It is also worth noting that, in contrast to Mr. Katz, Brockett used the word transmission rather than text for these two modes of recitations. Some highlights from the article are reproduced below. Brockett states: In cases where there are no variations within each transmission itself, certain differences between the two transmissions, at least in the copies consulted, occur consistently throughout. None of them has any effect in the meaning.[23] (Adrian Brockett, "The Value of Hafs And Warsh Transmissions For The Textual History Of The Qur'an" in Andrew Rippin's (Ed.), Approaches of The History of Interpretation of The Qur'an, 1988, Clarendon Press, Oxford, p. 33.) The author demarcates the transmissions of Hafs and Warsh into differences of vocal form and the differences of graphic form. According Brockett: Such a division is clearly made from a written standpoint, and on its own is unbalanced. It would be a mistake to infer from it, for instance, that because "hamza" was at first mostly outside the graphic form, it was therefore at first also outside oral form. The division is therefore mainly just for ease of classification and reference. Regarding the graphic form of this transmission, he further states: On the graphic side, the correspondences between the two transmissions are overwhelmingly more numerous than differences, often even with oddities like ayna ma and aynama being consistently preserved in both transmissions, and la'nat allahi spelt both with ta tawila and ta marbuta in the same places in both transmissions as well, not one of the graphic differences caused the Muslims any doubts about the faultlessly faithful transmission of the Qur'an. And on the vocal side of the transmission the author's opinion is: On the vocal side, correspondences between the two transmissions again far and away outnumber the differences between them, even with the fine points such as long vowels before hamzat at-qat having a madda. Also, not one of the differences substantially affects the meaning beyond its own context... All this point to a remarkably unitary transmission in both its graphic form and its oral form. He also discusses the Muslims' and orientalists' attitude towards the graphic transmission: Many orientalists who see the Qur'an as only a written document might think that in the graphic differences can be found significant clues about the early history of the Qur'an text - if cUthmân issued a definitive written text, how can such graphic differences be explained, they might ask. For Muslims, who see the Qur'an as an oral as well as a written text, however, these differences are simply readings, certainly important, but no more so than readings involving, for instances, fine differences in assimilation or in vigour of pronouncing the hamza. Brockett goes so far as to provide examples with which the interested reader can carry out an extended analysis. Thus, he states: The definitive limit of permissible graphic variation was, firstly, consonantal disturbance that was not too major, then unalterability in meaning, and finally reliable authority. In the section titled, "The Extent To Which The Differences Affect The Sense", the author repeats the same point: The simple fact is that none of the differences, whether vocal or graphic, between the transmission of Hafs and the transmission of Warsh has any great effect on the meaning. Many are the differences which do not change the meaning at all, and the rest are differences with an effect on the meaning in the immediate context of the text itself, but without any significant wider influence on Muslim thought. The above is supported by the following: Such then is the limit of the variation between these two transmissions of the Qur'an, a limit well within the boundaries of substantial exegetical effect. This means that the readings found in these transmissions are most likely not of exegetical origin, or at least did not arise out of crucial exegetigal dispute. They are therefore of the utmost value for the textual history of the Qur'an. And interestingly enough the author went on to say: The limits of their variation clearly establish that they are a single text. Furthermore, we read: Thus, if the Qur'an had been transmitted only orally for the first century, sizeable variations between texts such as are seen in the hadîth and pre-Islamic poetry would be found, and if it had been transmitted only in writing, sizeable variations such as in the different transmissions of the original document of the constitution of Medina would be found. But neither is the case with the Qur'an. There must have been a parallel written transmission limiting variation in the oral transmission to the graphic form, side by side with a parallel oral transmission preserving the written transmission from corruption. The investigation led to another conviction: The transmission of the Qur'an after the death of Muhammad was essentially static, rather than organic. There was a single text, and nothing significant, not even allegedly abrogated material, could be taken out nor could anything be put in. Finally, we would like to establish Adrian Brockett's conclusion on this matter: There can be no denying that some of the formal characteristics of the Qur'an point to the oral side and others to the written side, but neither was as a whole, primary. There is therefore no need to make different categories for vocal and graphic differences between transmissions. Muslims have not. The letter is not a dead skeleton to be refleshed, but is a manifestation of the spirit alive from beginning. The transmission of the Qur'an has always been oral, just as it has been written. Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Christian missionaries like Jochen Katz find themselves "refleshing" a dead skeleton in order to comply with their missionary program of outright deception. Of course, regular participants in the newsgroups have time and again witnessed Jochen's tiring displays of dialectical acrobatics - the misquoting of references and the juggling of facts. Surprisingly enough, missionary Katz cannot even support his point of view using the reference [23], which undermines his missionary agenda of twisting the facts. The reference [23] has firmly established that: 1.There is only one Qur'an, 2.The differences in recitation are divinely revealed, not invented by humans 3.The indisputable conclusion that the Qur'an was not tampered with. ---------------------------------------- Conclusions: In light of the above discussion, it is clear that Hafs and Warsh Qirâ'ât are not the different 'versions' or 'texts' of the Qur'an as fantasized by missionary Katz and others. The mutawâtir follows directly to the Companions of the Prophet(P) who took the Qur'an from the Prophet(P) himself. Thus, the suggestion that a mutawâtir reading was a later invention by the Muslims is to be dismissed as complete fiction.
(Part 4) The Holy Quran was sent to one person, Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. And Prophet Muhammad and the people of Mecca spoke the Arabic in the Qurayshy dialect. This is also why the people of Mecca were called Quraysh. Back then, if you were to say Quraysh, then people would've understood it as you were referring to Mecca. The Holy Quran was sent in the Qurayshi Dialect. Therefore, everyone must bring themselves to speak the Holy Quran in Its Original Dialect. This is also known as the HAFS reading. When ‘Uthmaan made copies of the Qur’aan, he did so according to one style (harf), but he omitted the dots and vowel points so that some other styles could also be accommodated. So the Mus-haf that was copied in his time could be read according to other styles, and whatever styles were accommodated by the Mus-haf of ‘Uthmaan remained in use, and the styles that could not be accommodated fell into disuse. The people had started to criticize one another for reciting differently, so ‘Uthmaan united them by giving them one style of the Qur’aan. It is interesting to know why the seven ahruf were brought down to one during Caliph Uthmân's(R) time. The Qur'an continued to be read according to the seven ahruf until midway through Caliph 'Uthman's rule when some confusion arose in the outlying provinces concerning the Qur'an's recitation. Some Arab tribes had began to boast about the superiority of their ahruf and a rivalry began to develop. At the same time, some new Muslims also began mixing the various forms of recitation out of ignorance. Caliph 'Uthman decided to make official copies of the Qur'an according to the dialect of the Quraysh and send them along with the Qur'anic reciters to the major centres of Islam. This decision was approved by Sahaabah and all unofficial copies of the Qur'an were destroyed. Following the distribution of the official copies, all the other ahruf were dropped and the Qur'an began to be read in only one harf. Thus, the Qur'an which is available through out the world today is written and recited only according to the harf of Quraysh. Ubayy b. Ka'b reported that the Messenger of Allah () was near the ta-nk of Banu Ghifar that Gabriel came to him and said:

He then came for the second time and said: Allah has commanded you that you should recite the Qur'an to your people in two dialects. Upon this he (the Holy prophet) again said: I seek pardon and forgiveness from Allah, my people would not be able to do so. He (Gabriel) came for the third time and said: Allah has commanded you to recite the Qur'an to your people in three dialects. Upon this he said: I ask pardon and forgiveness from Allah. My people would not be ab-le to do it. He then came to him for the fourth time and said: Allah has commanded you to recite the Qur'an to your people in seven dialects, and in whichever dialect they would recite, they would be right.

And the Quran's Owner of the Day of Judgement and King of the Day of Judgement are the same in relation that God is both the king and owner of the Day of Judgement it's basic logic and basic language understanding, ergo if you research these differences you'll see they don't ma-ke another Quran.

And here's why it's one version accept it or don't it's up to you and even if it help you to sleep at night to call them different versions that doesn't change the Quran's message or make Islam false so this argument is null:
•The source of the issue of versions of the Quran:
The misunderstanding arose from anti-Islamists and non-Muslims “Ignorantly” claiming that “Qira’at” a plural word, actually means different versions of the Quran and wrongfully spreading the idea amongst all who would listen, even ignorant Muslims.
•What are the 7 Ahruf of the Quran?
The Seven Ahruf of the Quran are Revelations from God, by which Muslims were allowed to read the Quran in seven variant ways of recitation. These revelation-based recitations refer to the same text. They also contain some dialects of the Arabs, but not all. It was revealed in the Madinah on the 9th of al-Hijrah. The Prophet PBUM recited them and taught them to his companions, then their successors taught them to the next, etc.
The seven variant ways of recitation were revealed by God so, it is from the same source; as God SWA is the only authority from the very beginning to send Prophets and to reveal Scriptures.
Gabriel initially taught the prophet to recite in one mode ( the dialect of Quraish, the tribe of prophet Muhammad) but the prophet kept asking Allah for more modes until they reached seven modes “Seven Ahruf” to make it easy for the believers.
The Prophet’s intention was to make the recitation of the Quran easy for the various Arab tribes who entered Islam, taking into consideration the different social statuses of the people at the time.
Therefore, there is no problem with having Divine ways of recitation. Hence, the search for authenticity has to do with the proof of the divinity of the Quran and the truthfulness of its Carrier PBUH. If we proved the divinity of these revelation-based variant recitations, so we accept whatever comes after.
•What are The 7 Qirat of The Quran?
The seven Qirat of the Quran technically refers to “agreed upon (by Muslim scholars) oral recitation methods of Quran.” Qira’at (pl. of Qirah) in the Quran refers to the various ways of reciting the Holy Quran.
They are different lexical, phonetic, linguistic, morphological, and syntactical manners permitted with reciting the Quran. Each Qirah has its own certain rules of recitation and variations in words and letters.
Qira’at also refers to the branch of Islamic studies that deals with these recitation manners. Thus, Qira’at are the verbalization of the Quran, and the Quran is preserved in Qira’at.
Schools of Qira’at, each one derives its name from a famous reader of Quran recitation taught by the Messenger (PBUH).
These Qira’at differ only in ways that DO NOT IN ANY WAY COMPROMISE MEANINGS OR PERMIT WHAT IS FORBIDDEN.
For example, There is English with an Irish accent, English with a Scottish accent and so on. Can I say “There are different kinds of English, Irish, Scottish, …?!”
How many Qiraat are there?
Traditionally, there are 10 recognized (agreed upon by Muslim scholars), derived from the seven ahruf mentioned above. Of which seven are categorized by a Muslim scholar “Abu Bakr Ibn Mujahid is the most authentic and accepted.
All Sahih Qira’at (authentic) were taught and revised orally and personally by the Prophet (PBUH) with his companions till the end of his blessed life, according to a Sahih Hadith (authentic Prophetic saying) narrated by Ibn Masoud.
Each Qirah is named after a famous reader of Quran recitation taught by the Messenger (PBUH) like Asim Al-Kufi and Naafi’ Al-Madani.
What makes the Qirah Authentic?
For a Qirah to be considered authentic, these conditions must be all met:
1.The condition of Tawaatur: having an authentic chain of narration (Reliable, numerous and continuous chain of narrators) back to the Messenger of Allah (PBUH).
2.The variations in recitations should match known Arabic grammatical constructions. In the case of unusual constructions, it could be verified by their existence in passages of pre-Islamic prose or poetry that are known.
3.The recitation should coincide with the script of one of the copies of the Quran distributed during the era of Caliph Uthman which is written according to Quraysh’s dialect (the tribe of the Prophet).
How different are the Qiraat?
Subhi Al-Saalih in his book in the study of Science of Quran summarizes the differences into seven main categories:
Grammatical indicator.
Consonants.
Nouns as to whether they are singular, dual, plural, masculine or feminine.
Differences in which there is a substitution of one word for another.
Due to the reversal of word order in expressions where the reversal is meaningful in the Arabic language in general or in the structure of the expression in particular.
Small addition or deletion in accordance with the custom of the Arabs.
Due to dialectical peculiarities.
Some differences between the Qira’at miraculously complement one another to add new valid beautiful meanings to the verses. So, it is a way to increase the meanings that can be deduced from a single verse. Many books have been written in this subject and many books of Tafsir (Quran interpretation) also mention examples of these.
A fact to remember; all those Qira’at are authentic and traced all the way back to the Messenger Muhammad (PBUH). The Qira’at represent what remained from the seven Ahruf of the Quran, which can fit with the final unified manuscript of Uthman.
The printed versions of the Qiraat of the Quran?
Qira’at exist in printed editions as well nowadays. Even most Muslims are not aware of this fact, but each Mus’haf (printed Quran) carries either in the beginning or in the end the rules of pronunciation of that Qira’ah as well as the Isnad (narration authentication).
However, It must be said that the first written Quran was dictated by the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) to specific known companions immediately after revelation, as well as the memorizers and those writings were the source of the first round of Quran collection and authentication during Abu Bakr’s time (first Calif) and the second round of Quran collection and authentication during Uthman’s time (third Calif) in Quraysh tribe dialect.
Both writings were devoid from dots and diacritical markings which were introduced later on by Muslim scholars to insure correct pronunciation of the written Quran in accordance with the recited authentic Qira’at.
Muslim scholars introduced dots and diacritical markings to Arabic writing. The most renowned of are Abu’l Aswad ad-Du’alî (d. 69 / 688), Naṣr Ibn ʿĀṣim (d. 89 / 707) and Yaḥya Ibn Yaʿmur (d.129 /746).
•Conclusion - How many copies of the Quran are there?
There is only one version of the Quran in the World. However, there are Qira’at that are not the different “versions” or “texts” of the Qur’an as fantasized by non-Muslims and anti-Islamists. Qira’at are authentic divine revelations of Quran that are handed down unaltered from the Messenger of Allah (PBUH). Although they differ in some aspects of the way of recitation, they convey the same message.

And on the Hafs and Warsh:
Hafs & Warsh Qirâ'ât: Are They Different Versions Of The Qur'an?
The Christian missionary Jochen Katz had claimed that Hafs and Warsh Qirâ'ât are different 'versions' of the Qur'an. A concise and interesting article that the missionary had used to reach such a conclusion can be found in the book Approaches of The History of Interpretation of The Qur'an. Ironically, it contained an article by Adrian Brockett, titled "The Value of Hafs And Warsh Transmissions For The Textual History Of The Qur'an", which sheds some light on various aspects of differences between the two recitations. It is also worth noting that, in contrast to Mr. Katz, Brockett used the word transmission rather than text for these two modes of recitations. Some highlights from the article are reproduced below.
Brockett states:
In cases where there are no variations within each transmission itself, certain differences between the two transmissions, at least in the copies consulted, occur consistently throughout. None of them has any effect in the meaning.[23] (Adrian Brockett, "The Value of Hafs And Warsh Transmissions For The Textual History Of The Qur'an" in Andrew Rippin's (Ed.), Approaches of The History of Interpretation of The Qur'an, 1988, Clarendon Press, Oxford, p. 33.)
The author demarcates the transmissions of Hafs and Warsh into differences of vocal form and the differences of graphic form. According Brockett:
Such a division is clearly made from a written standpoint, and on its own is unbalanced. It would be a mistake to infer from it, for instance, that because "hamza" was at first mostly outside the graphic form, it was therefore at first also outside oral form. The division is therefore mainly just for ease of classification and reference.
Regarding the graphic form of this transmission, he further states:
On the graphic side, the correspondences between the two transmissions are overwhelmingly more numerous than differences, often even with oddities like ayna ma and aynama being consistently preserved in both transmissions, and la'nat allahi spelt both with ta tawila and ta marbuta in the same places in both transmissions as well, not one of the graphic differences caused the Muslims any doubts about the faultlessly faithful transmission of the Qur'an.
And on the vocal side of the transmission the author's opinion is:
On the vocal side, correspondences between the two transmissions again far and away outnumber the differences between them, even with the fine points such as long vowels before hamzat at-qat having a madda. Also, not one of the differences substantially affects the meaning beyond its own context... All this point to a remarkably unitary transmission in both its graphic form and its oral form.
He also discusses the Muslims' and orientalists' attitude towards the graphic transmission:
Many orientalists who see the Qur'an as only a written document might think that in the graphic differences can be found significant clues about the early history of the Qur'an text - if cUthmân issued a definitive written text, how can such graphic differences be explained, they might ask. For Muslims, who see the Qur'an as an oral as well as a written text, however, these differences are simply readings, certainly important, but no more so than readings involving, for instances, fine differences in assimilation or in vigour of pronouncing the hamza.
Brockett goes so far as to provide examples with which the interested reader can carry out an extended analysis. Thus, he states:
The definitive limit of permissible graphic variation was, firstly, consonantal disturbance that was not too major, then unalterability in meaning, and finally reliable authority.
In the section titled, "The Extent To Which The Differences Affect The Sense", the author repeats the same point:
The simple fact is that none of the differences, whether vocal or graphic, between the transmission of Hafs and the transmission of Warsh has any great effect on the meaning. Many are the differences which do not change the meaning at all, and the rest are differences with an effect on the meaning in the immediate context of the text itself, but without any significant wider influence on Muslim thought.
The above is supported by the following:
Such then is the limit of the variation between these two transmissions of the Qur'an, a limit well within the boundaries of substantial exegetical effect. This means that the readings found in these transmissions are most likely not of exegetical origin, or at least did not arise out of crucial exegetigal dispute. They are therefore of the utmost value for the textual history of the Qur'an.
And interestingly enough the author went on to say:
The limits of their variation clearly establish that they are a single text.
Furthermore, we read:
Thus, if the Qur'an had been transmitted only orally for the first century, sizeable variations between texts such as are seen in the hadîth and pre-Islamic poetry would be found, and if it had been transmitted only in writing, sizeable variations such as in the different transmissions of the original document of the constitution of Medina would be found. But neither is the case with the Qur'an. There must have been a parallel written transmission limiting variation in the oral transmission to the graphic form, side by side with a parallel oral transmission preserving the written transmission from corruption.
The investigation led to another conviction:
The transmission of the Qur'an after the death of Muhammad was essentially static, rather than organic. There was a single text, and nothing significant, not even allegedly abrogated material, could be taken out nor could anything be put in.
Finally, we would like to establish Adrian Brockett's conclusion on this matter:
There can be no denying that some of the formal characteristics of the Qur'an point to the oral side and others to the written side, but neither was as a whole, primary. There is therefore no need to make different categories for vocal and graphic differences between transmissions. Muslims have not. The letter is not a dead skeleton to be refleshed, but is a manifestation of the spirit alive from beginning. The transmission of the Qur'an has always been oral, just as it has been written.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Christian missionaries like Jochen Katz find themselves "refleshing" a dead skeleton in order to comply with their missionary program of outright deception. Of course, regular participants in the newsgroups have time and again witnessed Jochen's tiring displays of dialectical acrobatics - the misquoting of references and the juggling of facts. Surprisingly enough, missionary Katz cannot even support his point of view using the reference [23], which undermines his missionary agenda of twisting the facts. The reference [23] has firmly established that:
1.There is only one Qur'an,
2.The differences in recitation are divinely revealed, not invented by humans
3.The indisputable conclusion that the Qur'an was not tampered with.

Conclusions:
In light of the above discussion, it is clear that Hafs and Warsh Qirâ'ât are not the different 'versions' or 'texts' of the Qur'an as fantasized by missionary Katz and others. The mutawâtir follows directly to the Companions of the Prophet(P) who took the Qur'an from the Prophet(P) himself. Thus, the suggestion that a mutawâtir reading was a later invention by the Muslims is to be dismissed as complete fiction.

The Holy Quran was sent to one person, Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him. And Prophet Muhammad and the people of Mecca spoke the Arabic in the Qurayshy dialect. This is also why the people of Mecca were called Quraysh. Back then, if you were to say Quraysh, then people would've understood it as you were referring to Mecca. The Holy Quran was sent in the Qurayshi Dialect. Therefore, everyone must bring themselves to speak the Holy Quran in Its Original Dialect. This is also known as the HAFS reading.
When ‘Uthmaan made copies of the Qur’aan, he did so according to one style (harf), but he omitted the dots and vowel points so that some other styles could also be accommodated. So the Mus-haf that was copied in his time could be read according to other styles, and whatever styles were accommodated by the Mus-haf of ‘Uthmaan remained in use, and the styles that could not be accommodated fell into disuse. The people had started to criticize one another for reciting differently, so ‘Uthmaan united them by giving them one style of the Qur’aan.
It is interesting to know why the seven ahruf were brought down to one during Caliph Uthmân's(R) time.
The Qur'an continued to be read according to the seven ahruf until midway through Caliph 'Uthman's rule when some confusion arose in the outlying provinces concerning the Qur'an's recitation. Some Arab tribes had began to boast about the superiority of their ahruf and a rivalry began to develop. At the same time, some new Muslims also began mixing the various forms of recitation out of ignorance. Caliph 'Uthman decided to make official copies of the Qur'an according to the dialect of the Quraysh and send them along with the Qur'anic reciters to the major centres of Islam. This decision was approved by Sahaabah and all unofficial copies of the Qur'an were destroyed. Following the distribution of the official copies, all the other ahruf were dropped and the Qur'an began to be read in only one harf. Thus, the Qur'an which is available through out the world today is written and recited only according to the harf of Quraysh.
