You bring a great sense of humour to your commentary. A little background on the airspace. There is a good chance that the pilot messing with EDDK's departure was supposed to be in EDKB's airspace and was climbing too high/meandering too far northeast. Both are close to each other, and any aircraft wanting to climb high from Hangelar will need clearance from Cologne to enter their Class B. Or in this case, just mess it up. Merry Christmas from Bonn
Might be challenging to run the after landing checklist because, if they use standard Airbus SOP, there isn’t one. There is however a “Takeoff Following Low Speed RTO” checklist which should perform a similar function. It however, doesn’t include spoilers, which should be part of the PM flow on vacating the runway.
That's awesome. I'm delighted you have been motivated and interested to become a pilot. You'll have no regrets as it's a wonderful job and you'll have the most fab time. Safe landings and hope you remain on board this and my other content platforms. Best of luck. P🍀
I don’t even bloody fly but the main man gave you a positive stroke there. To balance, ‘cos I’m a grumpy Old Git - I think you made a spelling mistake somewhere in your comment. I could be wrong ….. your & you’re. Check it out. Zero mistakes 😉 Best of luck with your career. I gave up flying after a week long hang-gliding intro and landing in a sheep fence in a mega cross wind.
How did they end up with another plane passing just in front of them as they are trying to take off!? A catastrophe narrowly avoided. I hope there's a full inquiry, and the removal of at least one license.
Thanks for your message. It's essentially a big version of the smaller Airbus family members....but with more inertia. Engine-out performance is obviously different from the smaller jets as well. Bonus included is ETOPs capability when certified by the regulators. Otherwise no big deal. P🍀
Please get a seat up front of an A346 and do a vid of you in control! I know you've retired from VA but surely they'd love the media. The Irish Pilot flies the loooong A340 one more time!
Unfortunately, VA don't fly the A346 and haven't done for years. Secondly, I have retired from flying. So that's not gonna happen - sorry. Thanks for writing in. P🍀
Hi Pete, found your channel a week ago, its good stuff, keep making content (if thats what you want to do), i have a weird question I know there is a emergency decent procedure, But is there a emergency takeoff procedure? Or something along those lines for civilian aviation Sortof like how the airforce ( scrambles) to get in the air. id imagine this procedure to be used when theres some type of threat or extreme circumstance. Cheers mate.🇦🇺
Hi there, thanks for your interesting question. Whilst it might be logical, I'm not aware of there ever having been such a thing. However, Air Force 1 and similar are likely to have contingency plans for expediditious departures like you saw on 9/11. Hope that's of help. P🍀

It's persisting down! 😂👌🏾
Oh yes indeed. As only Mother Nature knows how to do it well in Deutschland. Thanks for writing to me. P🍀
I think he meant "pissing down".

Pete your a role model I look up to you because I’m training to become a pilot thanks for posting

Ya think?
Well, there will be a bucket of sh*t and a fan in an office somewhere near Cologne where those involved will come together with. P🍀
@PetetheIrishPilot I think we’d all like to hear you talk about what it must be like to fly (and land) this behemoth.

We make fun of RR, Rotten Reliability engines on the flight deck.
They're certainly not covering themselves in glory are they🤦🏻. P🍀

A squeaking, rattling Airbus?? That's impossible!! NOT!
Ah well now depends on your personal experiences, eh?! Thanks for your message. P🍀
Is that a thing?
