      @Derek Shaffer Agreed, he was most likely commenting about the number of fish he saw in the water. This idea is also supported by the facts that he had a half open net on his second cast "banana cast" and he caught just as much if not more than the first cast. Yet, commenters are calling him out because they never fish or don't think it through.

      mm 2k16 .... I wouldn't laugh. It could be "literally" millions. I've been out during some of these runs at the Cape Fear Inlet and have seen them a quarter of a mile wide and 20 miles long. As they neared the ocean, the birds, sharks, and dolphins would go nuts. It turns into a feeding frenzy that needs to be seen to be understood, or even believed. So, yeah, I would say millions os entirely within the realm of reason.

      To show your channel how many you can catch in one cast. He threw them back in plenty of time for them all to survive. They look like they're dying or dead at first, but they're pretty resilient. These fish are bait fish and get disrupted by many predators throughout their life everyday. It's not like they're an endangered species. Yes, we do need to be good natured about fishing, but to potential fishermen this could be encouraging to get out and fish. Plus, conservation of fish species sometimes means harvesting those species especially if they overpopulate. He's commenting that there are millions in the water. I'm sure he didn't put a dent into the local population. Get out and learn more. Go fish it's fun!

    To all those commenting that about wasting fish Menhadden are the number one fish commercially fished in the GOM. Millions of pounds are caught and processed into fish oil and ground fish meal. Some of the uses are fish food with the meal and cosmetics with the oil! At one time there were huge fleets of purse deniers with spotter planes fishing for huge processing factories! Google Gulf of Mexico Menhaden Fishing and check it out!

    are those the same fish you catch over and over coz i have been throwing casting nets too and am preety sure its the same ones that u let you coz the fish gets half knocked out when they come out of the water and it takes them a while to regain its energy to swim faster again

    The state I live in NSW Australia cast nets are illegal. I can go down the wharf some nights and catch half a dozen nice baits around that size, other nights they just dont want to to play and lucky to get one or two. It would be nice to be able to cast net and get a few baits in 2 minutes and be on my way.

    I really don't get the point of this video. Most of those fish are going to die. Why not save them for chum or something since they are dying? This is why we don't have many fish left to fish for anymore.

    I showed your video 4 times today in our Vacation Bible School. I was teaching the lesson of when Jesus asked Peter to cast his net over the boat. Even though this video was current net fishing, it gave the kids an idea of what net fishing was in Bible times. Thank you~

      I don't see a difference from "catch and release". Especially when it comes to forage fish.

    • @crabshack4690
      @crabshack4690 7 років тому +9

      Peter Liu there's is a huge difference. forage fish are the most fragile which means they should not be netted unless you are going to keep them because their chance of survival after being dragged in with a cast net is less than half.

      One day when you die a Jewish man will judge you. If you don't accept Jesus as your personal savior you will be cast into eternal burning hell.
