Or, as many wise Africans have spoken: “Until the lions have their own historians, the history of the hunt will always glorify the hunter.” Thank you P.L.O. Lumumba for your profound insights! Beautifully stated. It is the African tradition because they celebrated diversity and encourage the cross furtilsation of culture. Such intercultural unity, respect, celebration and acceptance is what made Africa great. Let us recall that ancient Kamit, now labeled Egypt was developed by various nation states who followed the White and Blue Nile to the Mediterranean coast of Alkebu-lan.
    This information needs to be taught in all African schools, so that our children can know, respect, value protect the beauty of our diversity. It is also critical that the United Unesco General History of Africa (UGHA) be taught in our schools from the primary up to the post-graduate level. This will help to heal the wound infected on us by those who invaded and conquered our ancestors.

    Nice one Prof. Lumumba. You clearly explained the danger of ethnicism/tribalism in Africa by exposing what is presently eating deep in Kenya. Your advice is timely for Kenya and I'll want to reinforce its timeliness by advicing Kenyans to redeem themselves and their future by listening to your advice.
    Unfortunately for us in Nigeria, we've gone beyond the threshold. The egg has broken without the chick hatching. It is a stillbirth; the burden of nine months and labour of delivery wasted on account of ethnicism/tribalism. The Nigerian dream died while still in the womb.
    As long as politics is concerned, expect nothing revolutionary from Nigeria. That leadership role Africans are expecting from Nigeria unfortunately can't be provided due to the destruction that tribalism/ethnicism has done to Nigeria. The framework of the Nigerian government has always been guided by the principle of fixing square pegs in round holes which explains why it has always wobbled even in the most clement weather.
    Nigeria is a still birth which is why neither the cities of Lagos and Abuja can be compared to Nairaobi in both infrastructural development or even aesthetics despite Nigeria's oil wealth. A genocidal war was fought in Nigeria from 1967-1970 on account of ethnicism where about 3 million people mostly from my side were killed and ever since then, policies have been put in place to strangulate my side. Kenyans should learn from us before it is too late.

      @igbounitedforum3386 10 місяців тому

      English isn't our language and so we speak most times based on the level of our understanding of words. I agree with you on the usage of ethnicity being a more encompassing word to describe ourselves and by ourselves, I'm talking about the big groups who have further sub-divisions among them. The word 'tribe' defines more a smaller group of people without sub-divisions within a smaller geographical area.
      This is my understanding of the ethnic/tribal usage in defining a people.

    True to the core. We need to decolonise ourselves, embrace, celebrate our ethnicity but as you put it, bury tribalism in unmarked grave. To be forgotten for good where national interests are concerned. Meritocracy, Pragmatism and Honesty be the yardstick for all elective and appointment posts.
    The syllabus for our schools from nursery to university should incorporate this education for posterity.

We have to appreciate diversity, there’s oneness in diversity but unfortunately we are program from a childhood to hate other people or tribe because there’s interest or ideology don’t match ours. We have to grow from that mindset of Tribalism. Thank You PLO Lumumba!!!

    Afrika for Afrika, our own story and no one else story. We must rise up to our true heritage and replace ourselves in the footsteps of our Ancestors. I love you my brother PLO Lumumba and I stand with you. Our Ancestors are standing strong for us, on the physical it may seem that the battle is long, but in the spiritual realm we have already WON. The Eurasians strongholds is no more, the illusions is their narratives. Stand strong to those that know, and you can see the illusions of the Eurasians narratives fading away, they want us to think they are still in power, but they are not. Our Ancestors are downloading powerful information to those that are in tune with them. Love and Oneness is the power of our Nation, we have been so divided for so long, many have lost their way to the true wisdom of whom they are, but We Still Shall Rise.

    God bless you sir, I wish Ethiopians heed this advice. We're killing each other like crazy especially now with another round of war in the Amhara region because of tribalism. Enough is enough, away with triabalism !!! Who in their right mind would inact a constitution that encourages or legalizes cessation from the motherland along ethnically drawn borders. Sadly that's what Ethiopia is dealing with.
    For true Pan Africanist our respective nation are too small for us, being united within our goal is to realize the formation of a United Africa.
    A united Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania etc... should serve the bigger purpose of Unifying Africa. That's should be the winning prize we should aim for. Get up Africans, get your acts together and unite now.

    I think our African ethnic languages should be introduced in school as optional languages just like we have French, Spanish or German. This will mean that that anyone can learn basics of other language e.g. if I a child is Luhya he/she is interested in learning Kamba, he/she can just enroll in the Kamba class. I think this will demistify languages and cultures to others who are not of that culture.

    You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. My brother and sisters, you must first be free in your heart and your mind and your spirit. And then you will truly be free indeed from all the tricks of the enemy. Enemy will not just come in white skin. He will also come in dark skin. And the one who can set you free is the Lord of all the Lord jesus christ. Love your enemy as you love yourself. If we love our neighbors and our enemies we will have no enemies.
