Really insane! The EarFun sounds so much more natural than the JBL, even at high volumes! Even the treble is more clear, even and airy, despite the full-range speakers and missing tweeter in comparison.
I wouldn't be concerned about these speakers being stereo or mono because those advertised stereo sound mono regardless as the two drivers are to close to hear any stereo separation.. If you want stereo with these little units purchase 2 with a connect feature and combine them to here real stereo seperation.

This comment is for people who get the speaker in the future. Check which firmware version it has by pressing the BT & power button and a voice should tell you. 041 to 048 have Oluv's tuning. Anything below does not and you will have to manually update the firmware. This happened with units released Jun '22. Ones released a few months later should already have it They have released a new version 050 with more bass. This version was released by Earfun without informing Oluv and isn't balanced like the earlier ones. It was released because some people wanted more bass and did not like his flat tuning.
That's good to know but disappointing if considering purchasing one from the Earfun website. Surely those would be 050. The Olav tuning would be a marketing gimmick if they don't actually use his tuning.
@@NamTran-xc2ip It sounds good. Definitely more bass. But I have to agree with the people that say the outdoor mode is pretty useless on 5.0. Sounds way worse than just turning up regular mode. Hopefully something comes out that makes outdoor mode sound good again.
When comparing outdoor, the uboom actually sound a little more in the face and efficient. The jbl may be louder but sounds very spreaded and wide, therefore it's sound is felt less compared to the uboom. So at just half the price, the earfun beats the jbl anyday.
UBoom L sound signature falls apart at higher volume. The bass drops out and it gets brighter. Not a good speaker if you want to listen at higher volume levels. Charge 5 is a superior all around speaker.
Any speaker at this size does this. They don’t have enough power/speaker size to push out bass at higher volumes. But yes the charge 5 performs better at higher volumes when it comes to bass
@@pickyaudio that's actually wrong. The similar size Tribit XSound Mega holds it's sound signature very well throughout the vol. range. Hope this helps. 😉

Great comparison Picky👏👏. The outdoor mode on the Uboom really stands out👍. Both are great at their perspective price point! But the fact that you can get two Earfuns , and have a sweet stereo setup. All for the price of one JBL is just amazing! 👌 Thank you for well thought comparison Sir😊✌✌
Hey mate thank you for making these videos and may I suggest a comparison video between Earfun U Boom L and Soundcore Motion+? Because they both have left and right stereo channels and price is around same when Soundcore has sales.
Oluv already did this comparison if you check his channel. He did it with an EQ setting on the motion+ that was recommended by Alan Ross and then there was a little catfight between the two.
if you love bass, louder, has better soundstage go with motion+ if you want some clean and pleasing sound but have none that i mention above go with uboom L
The Charge 5 still does have noticeable latency for UA-cam videos (>100ms delay). UBOOM video mode on lowers down to ~75ms, which is right around that 80ms sweet spot
100ms is small, there is barely any difference when we compare just 30ms. Anyway, you get two ubooms so it can better match charge 5 and then you're forced to use 500ms uboom latency
