For fun squad should do the Earth Bender comp: Taliyah, Skarner, Malphite, rek sai, gnar
except instead of Rek'sai who's just land shark, go Ivern because Daisy is a big rock golem.
Or go original skin Trundle or Ornn instead of Rek since they summon a rock pillar.
I saw that if you activate Q first then E during the charge the Q timer doesn't decay, so I think the engage combo should involve setting up Q first so you don't self stun yourself to pick up the rock and waste the stun of the enemy in the wall.
You could also use this set up while already having Q active and E slamming someone into the wall then Instant Ulting to auto proc the Q rock slam and guaranty the Ult landing.

Man i'd love if the rock throw had on hit effects. Might be annoying in top w/grasp, but just wanna hear funny hearsteel sound from distance
With how much cooldown the E get per level i think maxing it first is actually good, specially in those skirmishes in river or in botlane ganks will be able to use it twice. A good keystone would be predator for sure, running through a wall with it and slamming someone into a wall at mach speed seems amazing.
If you and Singed would’ve been in sync more, you could really drag someone down the lane having Singed chuck someone into your charging ult. Heck probably could E if they don’t flash away lol
ngl, this rework was pretty good, but I actually expect and hope that he had an earthquake-like ultimate and a passive that would be triggered every time he killed enemies - smthing like an AOE poison or something idk.
Damn, Hail of Blades on this dude would slap so hard with passive and Q synergy.

His abilities seem interesting but I don't really understand why or how a scorpion would fling rocks? I dont really like the muted colour palette of his base skin and the 3 tails make his design look cluttered
Hopefully he turns out to be a good champ though
It's matter of taste. I love his new palette, old one sucked, and three tails make him more monstrous, which we don't have enough in this game

Hope they change the fact he only scales off health, the one thing I loved about skarner was the fact you could build anything and it would work.
I'm pretty sure he needs the auto attack reset and damage from the HP version of hydra.

The Mordekaiser died @ 15:00 because he (possibly by mistake) tried to heal using his shield but there is a very brief delay between when the shield disappears and when the heal applies. The turret basically hit for damage during that brief delay, so the actual heal never went through.

they should make it so that if you pick someone up and run them into another enemy champion it stuns them both. It would make ulting more than one person way easier.

That would be good. The E stun is pretty unreliable since there won’t always be a terrain near by to activate the stun. They should make it be able to hit multiple people or maybe make his Q rock become a terrain when you throw it then you can use to set up a e stun

@@BrokutheSonofSparda idk about unreliable. gonna always hit during buff and objs fights. pretty sure destroyed turrets count as well, and it has sizeable range.
@ethanlee4910 yeah I think this video wasn't a great indication of it, he picks up speed when getting a champion and then can go farther so it's a lot easier than people realize
that ult is gonna be a pain in the ass to land against any champ with any mobility with how slow it charges

I think you only need to charge it as long as they are in range, so if they're right in front of you you can probably hold it for less than a second.

I think fleet footwork could be pretty cracked on him helping with speed issues and giving some nice healing over the game
it's really nice how his ult is no longer the solo reason for playing. All other abilities complement his kit very well. Good job, Riot!

I think the rock empowering AAs is kinda weird since visually he’s still swiping with his claws

Dang, I feel mixed with his abilities. I do not like how they only scale off hp and his new Q and W seems so slow. You're basically locked into playing tank.

Atleast on the Q and E and/or passive.
Sooo he has a scaling % max hp damage on passive through level and scaling % max hp ad based damage on q3. So you can just build any bruiser ad item like Sundered/Titanic combo or Sundered+Eclipse maybe for more shielding and get big damage while still being bulky and then go full tank after first 2 ad items and shred people while being ridiculously tanky with a high amount of cc. Looks hecking fun.

I remember how Riot nerfed Shaco E by removing "% of missing hp" as bonus damage - saying that skills that deal damage with %hp are too strong and spoil the game
And here is a new Skarner, with passive that do ~10%of max hp burn and Q third attack that do ~20% of max hp.. such a hypocrisy 🤦♂

This new Skarner feel very clanky almost lost a lot of it's identity like spammable skills Q skill W movement speed and Shield E stunlock the ulit is slow this is mostly nerf in my opinion for Skarner. unlike Warwick, Pantheon, Udyr rework They retain all their identity.
A total downgrade compared to old skarner, His new passive was his old passive on Q which got empowered after the first 3 casts then it would deal %hp dmg that scaled with both ap and ad, they got rid of his other passive which shortened his cooldowns with 1s for each attack, they nerfed his w, nerfed his mobility, his old passive was the reason for the rework and it took them 3 years to downgrade a champ, 3 years to apply the same passive buff in which the latest 10 champs have.

Feel like hail of blades would be WAY better than grasp on skarner, instant passive and instant q proc would be really strong

Some thoughts.
The W aoe seems a bit small. I think Jarvan's is bigger. Having no way to get movespeed other than E seems like it hurts a lot which means Deadman's is almost mandatory. Maybe if they added movespeed to Q and a couple seconds after as well as making Q last longer would feel any better. Though that would be kind of funny that holding a giant rock would make something faster.
Throwing or hitting with the Q rock seems lackluster. Maybe a mini-stun would make it feel better like 0.1 seconds or something. Don't know how the final scaling will be but it would be nice if it does have good scaling.
It's kind of sad about losing all cooldown reduction for hitting stuff. Not like other champions don't have it like Yi, Shyvanna and Wukong but Skarner used to have CD on-hit for all his non-ultimate abilities till the mini-rework then it was only on his Q. Now it's on nothing. Though at least at max rank it's only like 3 second cooldown.
Just from watching this it seems like either R needs to give unstoppable all throughout or at least during cast and perhaps tenacity during it. Does the R apply his passive? If it doesn't perhaps it should.
For the passive, it would be better if it was more like a stacking passive where hitting something once is 1/3 as effective stacking up to three times. The all or nothing doesn't look good.
I preferred building him attack speed, lifesteal. Idk if I like it, health scaling only weakens him idk
The irony there was a seraphine playing, the entire reason skarners lore got reworked cause they refuse to change hers
No ratio on passive and only hp ratios on QWE. Bottle necked into tank only is so boring

I feel like they should give him some AD/AP scalings on some of his basic abilities... Not only does it feel awfully weird that nothing asides the Ult scales with anything other than HP, but it kinda makes building bruiser items on him so bad, since you gotta buy AD (or for Rift and Liandry, AP) and they have 0 effect on him.
I get he is meant to be a "tank" (og Skarner was a fighter, not a tank), but every other tank has significant AD/AP Scalings that incentivises more diverse and fun builds, this new Skarner limits you to only building tank items which imo are boring as fuck.
Dumb take for fun:
Top - Hybrid
Mid - AP
Jungle - HP
Bot - AD
Support - Mana
It's possible to build entirely around these attributes. :P
RIP, Skarner. gonna have your entire character ripped out and get Trundle'd. Cool abilities though. Funny enough it looks like shit like BOTRK and Rageblade might be good on him
Oh, this shit sucks. He seems really, *really* bad. His E is so short and slow and has no real scaling, you can't move while charging the ult, the ult lasts for WAY too short of a time with the backswing time it has before you can actually move, the ult doesn't put them BEHIND you anymore, the passive does magic damage so it barely hurts tanks, the 'chunky shield' on W is too small, no Unstoppable anywhere in the kit on a tank in modern day League is laughable, and you can't even stun people after ulting them to try and secure the kill like old skarner! They just flash out or fly away because the game is so mobile now.
I only play league for almost 8 years now so definitly no expert

yep, Mord ult sends you to Brazil, most accurately, to Acre. Where is it? Nobody knows. Does it really exists? It's a question for another video.

I'm not sure about this rework, I''m a main skarner and this skarner looks much more weaker in tfs, I have to see how much dmg the abilities do, but is definatly slower, which is a huge problem in a game full of dashes and jumps, it has much less cc, the R seems much worst than the old one, to slow and very easy to avoid. You know longer have the q for the easy activation of the trinity. Definitely it's no longer a bruiser, now is a full tank, and I'm not sure if I like that. I don't know, if the damage isn't good enough this might be a huge nerd.

I do wish it was based on MS and not a fixed length, though. It has a lot of anti-synergy with engage items..

Mordekaiser died because turret damage ramps up and he had already taken three shots, he had full skarner DOT on him plus took the damage from the rock right beforehand. The final turret shot does a deceptively large amount of damage because morde already tanked so many. If Morde lived at all, the DOT killed him immediately

The Q seems ultraclunka.
Honest opinion on the rework, it Has flaws, passive is okay, Q little cast time is a bit awkward and will interupt AA's, W's shield doesnt feel like it doing much, E is fun but the slow animation at the start really makes it hard to hit anything point blank which is kinda ironic and ult... It is either too short or needs to do something on top of the current effect since it feels w little useless unless you have an Ally around
5 champs that throw rocks are: Malphite, Skarner, Taliyah, Gnar (mega form), and Rek Sai (q while burrowed)
She doesn't really throw rocks, though, Rek'sai shoots void waves -through- the earth with her burrowed Q.
I think his colour palette is utter garbage, and his design in certain spots of the model is kinda meh. This is probably their more underwhelming visual rework
Since E has kinda high CD and Q is based on getting Autos off, a Quickblades attack speed/crit build might be bad but fun

Wonder if you should start tri force. Gives you health attack speed and a move speed buff. He does seem to benefit from a little attack speed and CDR too.
Another reason he may feel slow is the MS crystal passive and the MS removed from his W. Slow crab.... steamrolling a wall.

My favourite part was when he said "It's Quakin' Time" and quaked all over that Morde.
He looks fun but losing his stun then making his ult a skill shot with long wind up is gonna be a bit of a pain. Frozen Gauntlet is definitely gonna be a must I feel that or just have a team with great setup.
I don't get the charge lol like make it the movement of a scorpion where you can walk sideways not a minion sion charge.. he has 6 legs my guy
