agreed. Starcraft players tend to be troublemakers most of the time, prbly a reason why I don't play much anymore. It almost seems like only pros are allowed in anymore. At least on BroodWar newbies won't get banned from every game they join, though, like on Classic
the word "rush" is important here. This early in the game, there are no lairs, no mutalisks, no spires, and, therefore, no gaurdians. The point of this move is to surprise the enemy early on. However, if they are reasonably prepared, the rush is beaten.
I know its an old vid (so he's probably better than that now), but for the new people watching, the initial split shouldn't be done that way. By doing a proper split, you can give yourself a slight advantage by getting your lings out a few seconds earlier. There's a few videos up on how to do a proper split.
Has anyone else here pulled the several hour strategy of building the best defense you can over a couple of small bases and having a small fleet to attack your opponents lone units costing them minerals then retreating? Eventually the map runs out of minerals and you've hardly spent any so you have a lot left over. n.n It's awesome. Just takes forever.
That, and he wasted time sending them off to the minerals one at a time. Drones, Probes, or SCVs, depending on the race you play as, sending them all off at once saves time IMO.
Computer of course! 1)Comps follow and order of Hatchery, spawn, and attack with worker only when the worker is being attacked. 2)If this was a human He'd be somwhat rtarded!
I always thought 4 pool was never enough. 5 pool makes it faster to bring out the zerglings and if done correctly, wil have a better economy. 4 pool, when you make your s.p., leaves you with 3 mining. 5 pool leaves you with 4 and plenty to fall back on. once you got 2 more drones mining and make ur 3 zergling eggs at 6 than an overlord as soon as possible. its much more common sense than having 3 than making 3 more drones. plus, it doesn't leave you as open as if an initial 4 pool rush fails.
Zergling rush was really awesome!! XD When this strategy first came out no one wants to play with me and it got to the point when the owner of the computer cafe banned the use of that tactic XD
very easy to do but if u fail ur f'ed 5/6/7 drone then rush is more popular cuz there is then a gray zone the success rate depends more on the skill of the opposing player actually
players opponent had to attack those zerglings with his drones, he would crush them with few drones lost, then he would continue playing with mineral advantage
Yeah you gotta scout the 4 pool zergling rush early or go 8 barracks to really counter it. Blocking your choke with scvs works really nice too until you can get that 1 marine and bunker to protect
this work pretty sweet against newbs, usually they quit as soon as they see the first zergling appearing in their base. But against experienced players it usually fails, especially terrans due to lift up and fast to build marines
yeah, altough last time I played was this summer. I remember getting banned in about 3 games out of 4, and half of the ones I didn't got banned from someone left 10 second after game started
clicking and right clicking for drones one at a time is very inefficient. instead, select them all, right click on one mineral patch, and while they are moving deselect one and repeat, or split them into 2 groups while moving; when only 2 workers reach a mineral patch one will automatically select another mineral patch.
some tournament maps have only two spawns, like destination or blue storm. zerg arent nub. they arent op in any way, shape, or form. if there's anything that was nub, its just that it was a computer player, and that it was a four pool, which most players only do if they dont care if they win. if the zerg had whipped up a fast sunken instead of the hatch, the six lings would have fell prey to the sunken and a few drones. four pool is a lot harder to pull off against terran with their buff peons.
all u need is to send all 4 drones to the enemys base and work it out from there. 4 drone attack!! make one more with the 50 mineral left. Then u will take 2 hours to use the last drone to kill the last structure.
actually, if you make 2 drones during that time, you end up making your zerglings later, thus leaving yourself vulnerable. It's best to only make one, and as you can see, the player was still productive in town while rushing with the cheap zerglings.
Agreed, but it doesn't mean that everyone has to bash the hell out of him. I've seen even worse noobs forget to get upgrades, leave bad defenses for their base, create structures in the worst spots etc., the list goes on.
Oh, so you think it is 4 times faster? It's just a some bug in the video editor that they have normal voices and they move in regular speed? This is the most fatal attack to enemy economy in the early game, but all the people complaining about that its unfair, just counter some ling rushes and you know they are not that bad. The easiest way to counter them is terran wall or protoss zealot in a ramp. And on Zerg just do the same, and with good micro, you can charge the enemy base and do some dmg.
lmao. this is called the 4 pool. there's a reason why he doesn't make any more drones. its supposed to be a very fast rush, making zerglings as fast as it is possible. and no, u can't make 20 zerglings in 2 minutes from the game start time
and what wrong with playing against computer i play against computer to avoid people who treat everyone like idiots just because they are better. that is why i prefer comp over people any day and for person who said who builds another hatchery at main. i do when i have enough expos i then build nydus canal to channel troops quicker from my main base. also to the people who said you get your ass kicked by the pros no shit why you think he practicing against the computer.
Yeah it is a computer. A) You can tell by Computers building order. B)At the ending you can see it said computer 2 was defeated C) No way a human player wont counter with that many drones D)Who builds another hatchery at main base?
no it works against real people too. It only works with newbs though, with some rare exceptions. For perfect zerg rush against a pro your entire team must rush the same opponent at once with their 2 minutes zerglings (6 per teamate)
listen, stop all the hating, this guy is obviously timing his performance so he know he can cope with faster, higher level play. The title is Zergling rush, not pro championship etc. etc. just calm down a little will ya?
Ooooooh okay. Thanks :| Does this work against real players? I mean hey, by the time the lings reach the other player's base they should have at least 10 workers and possibly take the lings out?
he never said what kind of map he played, i think he's talking about "fastest possible maps" i play them sometimes and yes, u can do rush of 15 marines, 48 zerglings or 8 zealots in 15 minutes if u know how :/
just got this game i love it more than anything :P. zerg=ownage. i did one like this too but long drawn out ones zerg (you) vs terran (Npc) are fucking hard.
Oh BTW wouldnt it best if he annihilated all of the harvesters first? It looked like the 2nd player never wanted to give a good fight coz if it was me i would have kill off the harvesters 1st.
well 4 pools dont usuually work on humans, unless they r noobs. he was demostrating, so i dont know if you actually have a point here, or if ur just saying that because thats what all the other comment say.
That’s a zergling, Lester. Smaller type of Zerg…

Right
I did this opening all the time when I was in fourth grade. That's all I have to say about that.
My classmate in high school destroyed us with this lol.
ok forrest
Why did you bring me back to this comment I made 12 years ago
@@DippNDots gotta bring back the memories
@@mikekell920those were the days when StarCraft was the cool new thing.
it works, u just need uber micro, and either keep pumping lings or back them up with drones.
or if they were expecting it, then u're screwed.
Its by far the best RTS iv ever played u cant beat that gameplay!!
By far, the enemy was weak, at least
i am 124 years old, and i still watching this :)
124 years!!, no sis U still young
enjoy!!
Lmao all these angry kids who have been pwned by 6 zergs are not happy
Protoss was my go to back in my HS days. Would always wall the opening to the base with a gateway and cannons and go straight for carrier rush.
This looks like something the legendary Baldure(EP) would use!
Wow a recent comment
lol i keep clicking on the bottom map only to realize that i can only pause the video -_-

Almost 2025 anyone?

Whoa did Zerg always start with four drones I thought it was 3?
I love playing red Zerg.

yeah, altough last time I played was this summer. I remember getting banned in about 3 games out of 4, and half of the ones I didn't got banned from someone left 10 second after game started
I dunno, I never had problems sending them all off at once.

actually, if you make 2 drones during that time, you end up making your zerglings later, thus leaving yourself vulnerable. It's best to only make one, and as you can see, the player was still productive in town while rushing with the cheap zerglings.
a fine rush, were u playing computer?
good timing, btw what program did u use 2 film it
hm, yeah.. kinda slow ^^ i thought it would be faster
I love when zerg has red color x.x
its a simple map
he knew where the enemy was when he found out where he was
no luck

Zegling rush works best against Protoss players.
Except if they built cannons in the back.
what sense does that make? lol
it's THE most skilled game ever created, literally. Some people actually like challenging games^_^

i totally agree, which must mean BGCommando is one.
Self-contradiction is quite common with trolls.
Woow even comments are dusty. Hello from 2024 already.
congrats man.
u 4 pooled a 12 hatch against the computer
nice! 2 is comming out
im just as noob so... he used his 4th food to build the pool. if he built max drones then build pool it would be 9 pool (more common and viable build)
4 pool is an all or nothing attack, if thwarted you are really behind in your economy.
Epic split
how did u record this?
what program?
I'm saying it in Protoss language: fingottam a röhögéstől, miután megnéztem ezt a videót :D
So Protoss speak Magyar? Nice.
ha, what a simple strategy. I prefer two darktemplar rush within 4 minutes.
o ok. I haven't played this game for 2 years so I guess I can't call myself an expert anyway.
That was against AI.
However this video wasn`t supposed to be skilled but it showed how to rush.
O.o actually learned something
haha... bit shocking to realize this is SC not SC2 video xD Classic!
Look how far we got 7 years later. Hehehehh
yea my bad, i was half sleep, that 15 minutes should be 3 haha :p

Here because of remastered, nice executing
only worked cuz he was going for another hatchery from the start
i think it was a comp
@MorePlz2
thats a lie.
there was that super chinese korean tournament where this pr0 guy got 4pooled and lost
my point exactly. So how would I know if he was being sarcastic or not. Nevertheless, I really do not care. So let's end this pointless discussion.
it's supposed to be exactly 1 minute 30seconds and it's called a zerg rush. kills any other race at a 80% chance xD
Yeah it is a computer.
A) You can tell by Computers building order.
B)At the ending you can see it said computer 2 was defeated
C) No way a human player wont counter with that many drones
D)Who builds another hatchery at main base?
*coughcomphasmaphackcough*
who on earth builds more drones after a 4 pool?
i don't think u needed the drone u made

It's not very hard to do that. You should learn to make a split by sending ALL your Drones to one mineral, then separating them on the move.

i agree with radwalls you could have been a lil faster
how do you put your games top video like that?
6 zerglins cants even kill like 2 zealots

"Testosterone Bloodbath 3"?
