I can't stop notice that the owner and the dog characteristics are in same way. Like blonde hair owner has blonde hair dog. Or, look at Italian greyhound dog and owner both of them are tall and slender.
I really wish crufts would stop showing the winners photo when I go to watch the class on UA-cam. It totally ruins it! At least give us a chance to watch the class without showing us who won!
You have a valid point. But its really I really suspect its down to the individual who uploads the videos on UA-cam. I am not an avid viewer otherwise I would had emailed my complaint
& toy poodle is in utility, it's just a companion lap dog, only job ,.. Their groups are messed up , Akita. & Sammy should be in working , not utility, & scnauzers in terrier
Why do breed handlers have to walk around with such taut leads, do they not know how to train head position, or even know what natural head carriage means. I thought the KC was going to stop this, looks like a typical example of harsh handling.
I would never walk my pup this way but I’m working with a professional dog trainer twice a week and he told me that this was the way a show dog had to walk. It’s to keep their head up at all times during the show. I don’t think that they walk their dogs outside this way.
Oh I love that Russian Toy...the breed I was going to get us next but the family kept getting others instead...xD; Congrats to the Bichon, though it's weird as an American to see them in Toy. Simply because I'm used to them being in Non-Sporting, which is our equivalent of Utility...but I prefer the name Utility...and tbh we could just disband "Non-Sporting" because most of those would fit into Toy or Sporting (POODLES, AHEM) or Working or whatever. So far I do love the Mini-Pood because Poodles are in my faves list, although a standard just won Westminster and I'm not really keen on watching them get it sooo often. Plenty of other excellent specimens as well, I'm sure... The Iggie is my favorite placer in this group. :33
My last Yorkie had Crufts winning ancestry. Sadly the paperwork was lost. He was the prettiest dog and had a beautiful coat with the sweetest temperament. Its been over thirty years but I still miss him every day.
Why do toy dogs with long hair always wear those little bows in their hair? I get they need to keep the hair out of their eyes, but do we really need a bow?
never count the toy breeds out from mousing, our Maltese is an accomplished mouser in our backyard though we have to watch out for hawks when she's on the move
Frank Kane doesn’t half spout some codswallop. None of these dogs ever caught vermin. The terrier nature is so far back in the past most wouldn’t know what to do if they saw a mouse. And the spaniels are not really sporting dogs bred down; toy spaniels actually predate many of the sporting spaniel breeds.
My Yorks show and rat at home. Took second in his class at Manchester Champ Show. Promise they are fit for purpose. The smaller ones gang up on anything small that squeaks. I have to keep an eye on what is going on.
How some dogs are dragged through the ring by the owners on the leash (especially the second dog) is not OK! According to the rules, some should have been disqualified.
cavalier king charles spaniel... just why? most of these dogs have genetic heart disease! Why would you want to encourage a breed like that by giving them a chance to win a show like that?? Don't get me wrong here... some breeds are really pretty and cute. But if they've got so many issues going on such as pugs and more, why would you want to encourage a way of breeding that focuses only on appearence? i think breeds like that should be very strictly judged and only healthy individuals should be allowed to even enter.
I have a gorgeous Cavalier king Charles Spaniel with no heart problems. She's been one the most affectionate dogs I've ever had, having shown, bred and judged Bullmastiffs. She's lying on my legs now and never leaves my side. I believe that genuine breeders of this gorgeous breed are working on improving the breed 100%. The backstreet breeders are the ones who are making a bad name for all breeds. Years ago, I judged a Bullmastff class of approximately 8 dogs and thought they could be in 8 different classes - they were so different and not to the Breed Standard. Don't put down the exhibitors at this show, they adore their dogs and will only breed from healthy dogs. If they don't, their reputation is ruined but what matters to them most is breeding healthy puppies to continue a fabulous line of their breed. There will always be people who abuse situations, with a priority of making money. A total end of all puppy farmers has to be a start.
@@traceygreen7550 Yeah no shortage of breeds have issues, I mean look at German Shepherds for example. Overall I think you just need to avoid puppy mill sort of situations which is a sad thing that happens. I also have a Cavalier by the way, she is also on my lap right now, the sweetest dog ever. They are truly an amazing breed.
Only healthy dogs are allowed to enter and unless they pass a strict vet check, they aren't allowed through to the group judging. To qualify for Crufts you have to be placed 1st at General Championship show. The cost of showing just one dog is enormous- entry fees, accommodation, petrol, etc. If you win a place, you get a small cardboard certificate. If you want a rosette, you have to pay for it. It's not the exhibitors at Crufts who are to blame - they are the people who show and breed the the healthiest dogs because they truly love their breed. To breed unhealthy, unsound dogs is not in their radar as with the judges who put them through. Foremost for any breeder and dog show handler is the love of their favoured breed and a very close second is their reputation as a respected, caring, conscientious breeder of quality, healthy puppies.
Show breeders are usually very reputable breeders and only breed the healthiest dogs and take pride in such. Back yard breeders are the only breeding for a looks

that havanese was such a darling
The Havanese displayed the temperament that the breed should have in abundance. Lovely.
I am new to the breed after having bigger dogs, and found that the Havanese are indeed heart melters.
The Brichon Frise looked a show stopper. Well chosen by the judges concerned.
Which one was that?
I might be a little biased but that cavalier long Charles spaniel is perfect 🤎 they’re so sweet and that tail is always wagging
Yayyy! I have a Bichon Frise - wonderful companion for us retired folk.
We have 3 ad bichons
Sooo very loving & di make excellent pets
Thank You for the advice💖
I love how she touch the dogs so carefully
It’s sad to see the min pin overlooked all the time. They are truly amazing dogs, active, lively, funny and silly.
The Havanese is stunning! So, so beautiful. But if I had to pick the winner, I don’t think I could, they are all so cute. 💖💖
