This is an unusually charming short for the Columbia Comedy unit, and especially so coming from Jules White, whose taste, as amply displayed in the Stooges series, was often breathtakingly crude. Outside of the old "bowl of milk on the top shelf of the cabinet" gag, the usual subtle-as-a-brick knockabout for which the unit was known was eased by Hugh's characteristic hilarious ditherings & asides. Pity the rest aren't as good...
Hope you can upload the other Hugh shorts. I have only seen five so far on UA-cam
Well, as Hugh says in this gem, you could have knocked me over with a feather.
the Columbia short subjects department had a roster of talented supporting players who added immensely to the enjoyment of these comedies...
Hugh Herbert's boss is played by Bud Jamison, who costarred in many Three Stooges shorts. Bud passed away in 1944, shortly after filming "Oh Baby."

Daffy Duck and Curly Howard's woo-woo's were borrowed from Herbert, who in turn got his from Ed Wynn {?]
@SteveCarras Not to mention The Golden Age Etta Candy from Wonder Woman comic books.
It seems strange that we see Herbert drink a glass of ink, but his reaction is not shown. I was expecting a spit take into Bud Jamison's face.
