You should watch it definitely one of the best historical epic movies i've ever seen, especially the script so well written, add to it the acting, the music, the setting etc apart from the love story the message of tolerance behind it is for me the most important thing in the movie.
This movie is not historically accurate. Akbar never had a wife called Jodha. Do you remember the history lesson you learnt in high school till today? No but you remember the movie Jodha Akbar. Even those know nothing about history will know the movie, thats the reality. Movie stays with you forever, thats why movie makers should be responsible, watching is more impactful than reading. If I was a film maker I would never make such a movie twisted and sugarcoated history to fit a certain narrative. Tomorrow if I made a movie potraying Indians as colonizers and brits as our slaves, just cuz I have the right to it, will you be ok with it? No. So thats why I say movie makers should be responsible but these liberal film makers are trying to re write history, jodha akbar movie says it's based on true story, that's my main problem with the movie.

Guzaarish is so good! It was the second Indian movie I ever watched (after this one, in fact). I think I used an entire box of tissues, though. What a heart breaker.

Yes, DEFINITELY watch the full movie "Jodhaa Akbar" (2008)!!! Not only swept practically every award going that year for Best Picture and Best Actor and ..., but industry-wise, as a huge commercial as well as critical success (the first big-budget Indian 'historical' in decades to financially succeed), not only inspired but made it feasible for other filmmakers throughout India to attempt similar 'historical' epic projects in the years since. :-)

Yeah in India there were queens like 'Jhansi Ki Rani', 'Kittur Rani Chennamma', etc., who were formidable warriors and who actively participated in a battlefield despite being women and queen on top of that - people adored them as their mothers...

Achara gets every trailer almost correctly! The movie’s very long but definitely worth watching for Hrithik’s acting and the chemistry between Hrithik and Aishwarya! But you should also know that in the name of taking creative liberties, the director and writers have changed a lot of history!
