Bully, you are so right! I was a high end guy but kidney failure made me rearrange my.misical priorities. I had to sell most of my gear just to keep my family in our home while waiting on disability to kick in. My wife felt bad and asked me what could she do to help so she went on Rondo music and got me the SX 5 string jazz bass after I mentioned I saw your 6 string SX review! Been a while since I played a passive bass but I was shocked by the quality and the sound! I use it as my main recording bass now! Thank you for your channel and thanks for your reviews and changing my mind to the lower end! LOL! PEACE, Bro!
I've been watching all your video that you be showing all the bases and stuff and I want to know that what kind of string it would not put a neck into a bow what the best thing that you use
Great video! You're the reason I bought a Glarry GIB bass. I'm an older female that's new to playing bass, only started about 8 months ago but I'm loving it. I can tell you really care about helping your subscribers. Thanks for all you do!
Because of your video I decided on the Glarry Bass as I am just beginning my interest in Bass!!! I’ll be ordering it today! Thanks again brother!!! God bless!
I'm a part time bass player and have watched your videos for years now. Love them all and learned a lot but I must say the next best thing to listening to your bass playing is watching the expression on you face as you play. You make my day. Thanks.
I'm always impressed at the sound that comes from these electronics. The pickup sounds darn good and you get the whole instrument for the cost of a brand name pickup
Bully, I really enjoy your channel and reviews! I have been playing for 29 years. I have some relatively high end stuff, but recently bought a couple Glarry guitars. After a proper set-up, they play great! I just ordered a J Bass and a P Bass and can't wait to try them out! I have to say I really appreciate your reviews of Glarry instruments. A lot of reviewers are overly harsh on these instruments, but I firmly believe they are great for the price point. I would have loved to have had instruments of this quality for this price when I was learning years ago. I think Glarry should be commended for putting instruments that are this good of quality into people's hands for such a reasonable price. It opens a world of music to people who might not have the opportunity otherwise. Thanks for the work you do and God Bless!
I ordered a Glarry bass the other day. The price and quality were a match for me. I just found your review on the company's product. I enjoyed your passion in playing and watching you have fun doing it. Now, I can't wait till the bass arrives. Thank you. Peace
I got the natural wood one with white pick guard. I was so surprised how nice it was, I bought another identical one. So I got 2! I don't think the ones I got have a thick neck like that. Actually they're pretty thin and fast. Great basses for the price!
Upgrade the pickups and the tuners and with a proper setup you'll have a pretty good good bass at a little more than half the price of a Squier Affinity. If you buy the Squier you will still want to upgrade the pickups and the tuners.
Bro, thanks for what you do. I pick up the Glarry Jazz Bass to learn. I AM a lifelong drummer. I AM 55 and I've been playing drum for 50+ years. During the pandemic I decided to learn bass. I found the Glarry and thought it was perfect for that. Knowing nothing about what a good & proper bass should be, I was pleased and have been progressing on the instrument. I did notice that thick neck issue when I finally pick up a real Fender Jazz Bass. But I also saw a UA-cam video where the great George Benson said he practices on an acoustic guitar because the extra effort needed to play it, makes playing his electrics way easier. So with that I dove in. Now I'm sending you a thanks for this video that tells me I did good. Keep it up, Sir. I'll be watching, for sure. Brent
I was just looking at some used beater P bass and Squire P bass models to tear apart and have some fun rebuilding. Now that I have watched your videos on the Glarry P Bass, I think I have found the bass I am going to get and screw around with rebuilding. Thanks!
today i ordered a J&D 75 jazz bass! my first bass and now i found your channel! Super excited to learn a lot from you and your videos! keep up that golden passion and ill take notes!!
I am over seas so these Glarry is one of the only affordable options I am feeling that jazz bass the pbass didn’t sound very pbass like to me from the audio, but I will take your word for it
1:58 "If you can get past how thick the neck is... this is a good platform to do some modifications to..." Sounds to me like that would be a good initial mod. :)
You're a good man, Bully. Your totally honest approach and analysis is refreshing. I have some more expensive basses but I might just buy a Glarry based on your videos. Thanks.
Thank you for these demos, Bully. I need a bass just as a back up bass as the church worship team only has 1 bassist. And of course I’m one of many guitarists 😂🤣. I think I’m going to have to get one of these.
Bought the Glarry Jazz bass and although it played fine I did some mods to it which included Rotosound flatwound strings, pearloid pickguard, CTS pots and Switchcraft audio jack along with cloth pushback wiring. I sanded the backside of the neck and addressed the fret issues which were minor. The last thing I did was drill holes in the electronics cavity and added some 1/4 lead wire with epoxy to address the neck dive. Overall I still have under $200 invested and I have a go to bass that I enjoy playing. The larger neck doesn't affect me either, this was a good purchase and I bought because of your review. Thanks!
You're right about the options out there. You and a few other bassists on UA-cam (Dr. Funk, Scott's Bass Lessons, Davie504, Mono Neon, Charles Berthoud) made me want get my first bass. And rather than get a Squier I did some research and just ordered an Ibanez Talman TB100 PJ bass. Thanks for your videos!
I appreciate your review Doc. I'm a true bass player since age 10 and now 54 which I play keys way more than I do anything but I've been reviewing the Glarry 5 string jazz and now I'm convinced that this will be the purchase for me. I definitely do a lot of keybass but I want to keep my true bass player roots and feel so with that being said thanks again for your review and your passion my bass playing brother!!! #MadSalute

I have a five string Glarry because I saw you playing the four string I saw that they were affordable so I looked into the website and saw they made a five string that was very affordable at the time I did not have a five string so I purchased it and I have not looked back .thank you for the video
Bully Thakidd I just subscribe to your channel recently and watch you with the P-Bass and the Jazz Bass and I decided to buy one, so that I can learn how to play, I am a newbie with no knowledge and I will be going through your videos to learn more so I can become as good as you are one day, I've choosen the GLARRY Full Size Electric Bass Guitar / Natural Wood. Thank you again your videos are on point
Excellent point that they do not have to spend a ton of money to get started! A wise investment is a Fender Rumble amp. The 25W ones can be had for cheap, especially used, and are good for practice and figuring out songs in the house.
Allan that was funky brother! I am an older brother in my late 50s who wants to learn the bass. Looking forward to communicating with you, so you can give me some tips and guidance on how to reach that level to learn to play the bass with confidence.
I just got mine in! Pretty good bass for the money. I got the p-bass in schoolbus yellow! I really like it, and the neck thickness doesn't bother me at all, since I mostly play Martin acoustic guitars-it's very close to the same. Good video-keep 'me comin'.
Thank you so much for the video I was on the fence on getting one but you definitely changed my mind I’m still learning bass but I also drive truck for a living and really don’t want to have my 1000$ fender in the truck to practice on was looking for something cheaper that I would not be as upset if it got dinged up or stolen thanks for the game changer
Hi, want to learn how to play the bass. I'm 50 and would like to know what the best glary bass I should buy for starter that dont cost a lot. You are never too old to try something new..😊
Thanks for an honest review, I'm new to the bass and with covid going on I wanna pick up the bass learn something new but with all the brands and prices ranging from budget friendly to sky high you my friend have me sold, thanks 👍
Nicely said sir you're absolutely right these are amazing for the price. Maybe start with this or deck it out then when you're ready get a nice squier. I love squier but these Garry's are go to to noodles around
I just bought one. The intonation was perfect right out of the box and stays in perfect tune. I use a Peterson Strobe tuner. The Glarry short scale neck is small almost like a guitar. The tone is excellent. I’m literally shocked at the quality for $79
Just bought their new burning fire bass today i like it just needs a set up. My plan is to learn off it and then upgrade it with a pair of Wilkinson pick ups and locking tuners and it will be perfect.
Looking at a Glarry GIB right now. Poor boy but want a bass to play around with! At the price,.. if the neck is too thick,.. I'll take a belt sander to it! 🤣😂 Saw your video,.. just saw this one and,.. really like your critique and approach! Also,.. agree with the mods! Especially the color choices of your mods. Much better looking!
I play. I dont buy stuff because of value for later. Some stuff yes but not my rigs. That being said. I buy what i can afford and the savings has allowed me to purchase tools to learn more into the craft. Which further saves me money for another rig. Subbed.
Awsome bro. Cool. Omg, I've seen some guitar sites that have 2&3&4&5,000$ basses. Whewwww !!! That kind of spending is for the rich. I have even seen an $11,000 bass. LOL It's crazy. I'm glad you have proved you can get good sounds w/o big spending. I like your groove. I've never heard of Glarry, now I have. Right, ok I'll pray for ya. These are really tryin times. But peace out bro. I hope more stay safe. Peace.
I got some La Bella flats for my Glarry j-bass. I love it. Felt weird buying strings that are dang near the price of the bass, lol. But I think they definitely add to the instrument
No cap thanks to you I bought a Audere 4 band preamp for my Squier j5 7 years back I had upgraded the pickups with Dimarzio j5 pickups ordered it on the 10/31/20 and just got the yesterday 11/4/2020 I spoke to David the owner I believe and I told him about you hopefully they bless you 💪🏽💪🏽🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯

Hey brother. How's it going? Thank you for the insight. I do have a Glarry Tele that looks good, feels good, but sounds terrible. I'm thinking after watching your video about the basses that I'm just going to swap out the hardware, including pickups, and that should improve it massively. Thank you so much bro. Now I will be able to count that guitar into my collection as number 19. :)
Thanks Frat (I'm a Que). I want to start learning the Bass so this was good video.. I could take this to a repair guy and just tweak it to fix any flaws and work on my fingers (I'm not going to be sounding good for a while). Be well!
Bully, I'm new to your channel, and I'm liking your subjective input an content on Glarry Gbass /Pbass.... Dude, not to mention your great playing skillz! Your old skool, and one cool cat! Great review my brother, peace out and bass on!🎸
Hey Bully, I just bought one of Glarry's GJazz 5-string basses, and(it's coming fom England, so it ain't here yet!😖) I've heard some cats say the nut is a little blah. Did you have the same take on it, while you were changing out parts? Thanks
Hey man, thanks for what you're doing! I dig your playing too and learned a few licks from ya! I'm also considering a Fender Rumble for a recording/practice amp after hearing your Fender. Be well.
I'm new to the base it is something that I've been wanting to get into just as a hobby but who knows maybe later on I might try to play for church once I get better. As I stated before looking at the Glarry GIB ELECTRIC 5-STRING BASS GUITAR SUNSET COLOR
are those black tapewounds on the jazz? Where did you opt to get the black hardware? would sound awesome thru my homebuilt 215 cab and a marktte800......good work !
Nice video Bully and you’re right about not having to spend a lot of money to get started. I on the other hand I like certain Basses for the quality sound they give. I can see why people spend lots of money for some Basses. You have several basses and I know each of them sound different. Maybe not to the beginner but to a seasoned player you can hear the tonel differences.
I bought that same Jazz bass in 5 string about three weeks ago and i have to say that the neck is not that much thicker than the rest of my basses, maybe there have been changes? The neck is very stable and I actually like it just like it is. I did change the pickups with cheap pickups because the original pups are a little dark for me. It was 129 not 75 but it is the buy of the century and the fit and finish is very good. I'm a seasoned Bass player and I'm impressed with the price point of Glarry. BTW: you have 24K subs...
Just got my Gjazz last month and I'm very impressed! I will be modding it, but I'm almost sad that was my plan from the beginning b/c It's pretty good as-is.
Only 5 months later you're up to 26K subscribers 🙂. So for someone who is fresh out of the gate, newest of the new, beginner. Which would be best for starting on, the GP or the Gjazz? Thanks for the videos!
I bought a musicman bass from pawn shop surfing utube found your channel are there for the beginners and? I know they're a lot of beginner channels out there I like deliverance - thanks
I got the P bass version package that came with the amp during the beginning of the quarantine. I paid about $107 and I have not regretted it one bit. I find myself picking it up every time I'm lounging, especially in front of the TV.
Thank you BullyTha Kidd Awesome Demo Between you and Max Proud I Bought The Jazz bass and the Guitar For Less then $150 with Free Shipping I Ordered a White Bass I'm going to put All Gold Hardware on it and Where Did you get your Hardware From?God Bless you and your Family Stay Healthy and Safe Safe PEACE and Blessing 🙏🏽😇😇
Glarry doesn't seem bad. They're rough around the edges, but the basics seem right. Just fix it up a bit. A piece of sandpaper will work wonders, and you're not getting anything cheaper, unless you can get something secondhand. Just take it as a pre-built build kit.
Bully, you are so right! I was a high end guy but kidney failure made me rearrange my.misical priorities. Hey that lick you was playing was groovy as hell and you actually had on a bassist face on this clip.
Thanks for info on the Jazz neck. The narrower neck was what I wanted.
Upgrade the pickups and the tuners and with a proper setup you'll have a pretty good good bass at a little more than half the price of a Squier Affinity. If you buy the Squier you will still want to upgrade the pickups and the tuners.

Well u should look at the Harley Benton bass on thomannmusic.Com... They have them for a good price and it's in Europe
Hey bully could you do a review on the BBC?🙏
Allen, you picked up the j bass, your head started moving side to side, then the funk started flowing...
Good vid. Thanks!
Just got my Gjazz last month and I'm very impressed! I will be modding it, but I'm almost sad that was my plan from the beginning b/c It's pretty good as-is.
Love those black tapewounds...nice review! Subbed.
The mom part was awesome 😊
Only 5 months later you're up to 26K subscribers 🙂. So for someone who is fresh out of the gate, newest of the new, beginner. Which would be best for starting on, the GP or the Gjazz? Thanks for the videos!
Great playing my friend 👌
I bought a musicman bass from pawn shop surfing utube found your channel are there for the beginners and? I know they're a lot of beginner channels out there I like deliverance - thanks
You heard of Swing basses? Have any plans for one?
Strings you use?? Thanks!
I got the P bass version package that came with the amp during the beginning of the quarantine. I paid about $107 and I have not regretted it one bit. I find myself picking it up every time I'm lounging, especially in front of the TV.
I'm very impressed. 75 is a hell of a deal
I've watched your review videos. Great content! Would you recommend the Glarry or the Donner for a total beginner?
Right now for the price both are great
Thank you BullyTha Kidd Awesome Demo Between you and Max Proud I Bought The Jazz bass and the Guitar For Less then $150 with Free Shipping I Ordered a White Bass I'm going to put All Gold Hardware on it and Where Did you get your Hardware From?God Bless you and your Family Stay Healthy and Safe Safe PEACE and Blessing 🙏🏽😇😇
Nice! May I ask if there's no hum in this bass, like when not touching the strings (issue of shielding or grounding)? Thanks for the advice.
There was took I fixed it with shielding
@@BullyThaKidd Thanks, Allen.
nice review man!
Glarry doesn't seem bad. They're rough around the edges, but the basics seem right. Just fix it up a bit. A piece of sandpaper will work wonders, and you're not getting anything cheaper, unless you can get something secondhand.
Just take it as a pre-built build kit.
Why not a glarry 5-String jazz... B string no good?
