27:29 Dead ringer also refers to safety coffins, where strings were attached to buried peoples fingers that led to a bell on the surface so if the person burried was still alive they could dig them up. Kind of fits the item
The Enthusiast’s Timepiece is based off of Penny Arcade, it’s awarded to players who bust out Tycho in the original Poker night at the inventory, Tycho gets killed for his watch in the original webcomic
15:59 That wasn't the original draw animation, that was there for the trailer only. You can see the first frame when the animation starts, that it was already drawn.
20:37 GRU was an agency in USSR and did not carry over to RF directly, its modern equivalent is called "FSB", "Federal'naya sluzhba bezopasnosti" (or Federal Security Service).
21:41 couldn't the term "energy overwhelming" also be another way of saying "unlimited power" like palpatine says in star wars? I feel like thats more in line with it theme
0:47 i cant take it anymore man i cant believe my top 1 fps game (from 2007) has an unintentional reference to the most annoying community meme from my my top 1 rhythm game (also coincidentally from 2007 🤔)
4:26 Imo, the Original VS Stock does not matter for any rocket jump on any normal map. The one area that is significantly easier to learn with the Original is wallpogo, and you don't have the rockets or the health required to do that in a normal game.
8:18 The Soda Popper used to grant mini-crits instead of the current multi-jump hype mechanic, thus the choice to include the crit-a-cola can is likely to correspond with the weapon's mini-critting roots.
3:55 Wrong Gabe. It's actually from the tattoo on the character Gabe, from Penny Arcade's upper arm. The timepiece was originally acquired by beating Tycho, also from Penny Arcade, in the first Poker Night game.
The 42 on the mackerel may also reference the name of the fourth book in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy which is "So Long and Thanks for all the Fish"
3:53, I'm pretty sure it was inspired by penny arcade's pacman watch because you get it by beating Tycho at poker in poker night at the inventory y'know, one of the main characters of Penny Arcade who is strangely proud of his golden pac man watch?
Not sure if it was intentional on your part, but at 20:47 it's probably worth pointing out that The Machina was part of a collaboration with the Deus Ex franchise, completing the phrase "Deus Ex Machina". The design is directly taken from the sniper in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
Hold, hold on. I do not believe Gabe Newell has a Pac-Man tattoo, if I had to guess you were reading off a wiki page and got confused. The Enthusiast's Timepiece is a reference to a recurring watch in the Penny Arcade web comic, though in the comoc the watch is never given a clear design. Meanwhile, Gabe, the CHARACTER in Penny Arcade unrelated to Gabe Newell, has been shown to have a Pac-Man tattoo that is extremely similar to the symbol seen on the Enthusiast's Timepiece. That is likely the Gabe Pac-Man tattoo that it is based on.
15:45 That's most likely not a glitch but an intended feature. Makes sense if we consider the "wearer cannot carry the intelligence briefcase or PASS Time JACK" stat in the weapon's description.
25:45 The term widowmaker was also first used as a term to refer to sharpshooters, so the gun’s name is not only a play on how the engineer loves machinery, but also the accuracy the gun requires you to have in order for its gimmick to be fully realized.
You missed one. Bushwhacked is a term typically used to describe an ambush, so the bushwhacker is used to bushwhack someone. Edit: the tommyslav is also designed after the American Thomson sub machine gun.
So you are telling me that 'the righteous' bison is canonically slow because it would be impossible to make a partical accelerator any smaller than a handgun?!!
The Loose Cannon hitbox frustrates me, because it's SO CLEAR it was SUPPOSED to use the oversized hitbox mistakenly given to the Iron Bomber (it was the exact size of the cannon ball). Because someone accidentally clicked on the wrong spherical projectile, aiming with the Loose Cannon will always feel a little weird.
The cow mangler is simply named after the device on the front of old locomotives, designed for knocking dead cows off the railroad so the train isnt slowed down
That was from the meat your match update, so almost 8 years now. Same update that causes it to now apply jarate in a radius around anyone hit with a headshot or full-charge body shot, rather than just on the target directly hit.
Here’s another fun-fact about the Samdvich for those who didn’t play before Jungle Inferno, and even earlier. There’s an achievement associated with stealing Heavy’s Sandvich, which has been altered several times due to changes to how Heavy’s Sandvich and even picking up dropped weapons. Initially, Heavy could only consume his Sandvich by dropping it in front of him and collecting it. The same way you do today if you wanna share your sandvich. To get the achievement, you’d have to kill the heavy right when he’s doing that. This feature was a double-edged sword, as while it meant you got an instant medium HealthKit on you, it meant others could steal it. And back then, there was no Sandvich bar that fills back up to give it back. You had to either collect a HealthKit at full health, or go back to spawn to regain your sandvich. Heck, I think the HealthKit method might’ve been added later, too. I don’t recall. Well, eventually, they added the taunt that fully heals you as an option, then made that the only way you could self-heal. To compensate, the achievement was gotten just by picking up Heavy’s Sandvich after he died. This was significantly easier, as every class drops a weapon after they die, and it’s easier to catch a heavy going for his sandvich than to catch him the moment he throws it. The reason Scout could pick up hos Sandvich back then was because before Gun Mettle added the ability to swap to a weapon you found on a dead player, dropped weapons from corpses acted like medium ammo kits. It was kind fun to randomly get a bit of ammo from a dropped spy knife you couldn’t even see on the ground. When they did eventually add weapon-swapping, they had to change the achievement again. Now that players drop an ammo pack along with their weapons, you get the achievement by collecting this specific ammo pack which heals you from a heavy you killed.
fun fact: the red tape recorder's disks (the white circles idk what they're called) will be stationary when inactive, but will spin when it's active active means it's in the condition to sap a building (this is also indicated by the white outlines when you're about to sap a building)
Heavy's Minigun may SEEM expensive, until you consider it's being funded by two separate billionaires who regularly make extremely poor financial decisions. As for after Heavy starts working directly for Mann Co, there's a good chance they're able to manufacture those bullets at a MUCH cheaper price than what they were selling them for. Mann Co does that a lot.
I think it was supposed to be a glitch but valve kept it in because of how rollout soldiers could get to the Intel faster than a scout with no drawbacks
I appreciate how much effort you put into this video, but you're just wrong about many things. Off the top of my head: Tomislav (You just way overcomplicated it man) Flying Guillotine (Actually means "Dead Meat" and is a reference to Hotline Miami The Enthusiast's Timepiece (Reference to the Penny-Arcade comics, not Gabe Newell) Bonk! Atomic Punch (The math was wrong) Conniver's Kunai (While you were technically right, you completely missed that it was a promo item for the game Total War: SHOGUN 2) The Jag (It's actually a Monkey-Wrench/Pipe-Wrench combo tool, and you left that out) The Sandman (reference MLB hall of famer Mariano Rivera, as well as the movie "The Sandlot") The Short Circuit (It was not changed to the current design. The current design is actually a re-design. It didn't used to have the energy-ball) Force-A-Nature (It's not actually made in Portugal, hence the joke of the "100% Guaranteed". The language there isn't Portuguese, it's Spanish.) The Giger Counter (You forgot the obvious one that it's a reference to an actual Geiger Counter.) The Rocket Jumper (It's not a glitch to be unable to pick-up objective items. It's a stat) The Windowmaker (The name is actually a reference to the Winchester 1911, who shared the same nickname) The Dead Ringer (It's actually a reference to Safety Coffins, which is where the saying comes from)
the term "dead ringer" actually originates from when people were mistakenly buried alive, so people installed bells tied to a rope that led into the coffin, so that if you were buried alive, you could ring it. basically the dead ringer is used in the sense as being mistaken for dead.
12:42 The reason being the original developer of the original TFC mod(as well as the counterstrike mod) was left handed.(The weapons of CS are also left handed unless something changed in the Source 2 port)

Dead ringer also refers to safety coffins, where strings were attached to buried peoples fingers that led to a bell on the surface so if the person burried was still alive they could dig them up. Kind of fits the item
The Enthusiast’s Timepiece is based off of Penny Arcade, it’s awarded to players who bust out Tycho in the original Poker night at the inventory, Tycho gets killed for his watch in the original webcomic
Actually, Tycho kills Gabe for his watch in the original comic. And that Gabe is NOT Gabe Newell, as the idiot in the video stated.

3:53, I'm pretty sure it was inspired by penny arcade's pacman watch because you get it by beating Tycho at poker in poker night at the inventory
y'know, one of the main characters of Penny Arcade who is strangely proud of his golden pac man watch?
Not sure if it was intentional on your part, but at 20:47 it's probably worth pointing out that The Machina was part of a collaboration with the Deus Ex franchise, completing the phrase "Deus Ex Machina". The design is directly taken from the sniper in Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
I'm absolutely gobsmacked at how I never knew this much stuff
the amount of these facts that I won't know that are just pointing out literally what the item is referencing is astounding to me
That bonk fact isnt true. The ingame file just says gibberish. thats a community made thing
I think that info was erroneously added to the wiki, and this dumbass read it before it was removed.
4:29 - not a weapon fact
10:36 - tomislav fact is misinformation
15:47 - working as intended
15:45 That's most likely not a glitch but an intended feature. Makes sense if we consider the "wearer cannot carry the intelligence briefcase or PASS Time JACK" stat in the weapon's description.
this is so good, you're really underrated! great work!

25:45 The term widowmaker was also first used as a term to refer to sharpshooters, so the gun’s name is not only a play on how the engineer loves machinery, but also the accuracy the gun requires you to have in order for its gimmick to be fully realized.

Tomislav (You just way overcomplicated it man)
Flying Guillotine (Actually means "Dead Meat" and is a reference to Hotline Miami
The Enthusiast's Timepiece (Reference to the Penny-Arcade comics, not Gabe Newell)
Bonk! Atomic Punch (The math was wrong)
Conniver's Kunai (While you were technically right, you completely missed that it was a promo item for the game Total War: SHOGUN 2)
The Jag (It's actually a Monkey-Wrench/Pipe-Wrench combo tool, and you left that out)
The Sandman (reference MLB hall of famer Mariano Rivera, as well as the movie "The Sandlot")
The Short Circuit (It was not changed to the current design. The current design is actually a re-design. It didn't used to have the energy-ball)
Force-A-Nature (It's not actually made in Portugal, hence the joke of the "100% Guaranteed". The language there isn't Portuguese, it's Spanish.)
The Giger Counter (You forgot the obvious one that it's a reference to an actual Geiger Counter.)
The Rocket Jumper (It's not a glitch to be unable to pick-up objective items. It's a stat)
The Windowmaker (The name is actually a reference to the Winchester 1911, who shared the same nickname)
The Dead Ringer (It's actually a reference to Safety Coffins, which is where the saying comes from)
The Giger Counter is also a pun on H.R.Giger, the artist who designed the aliens in the film Alien, amongst other things, name is pronounced gee-ger.

25:48 a widowmaker is also a term used for a certain artery in your heart that is notorious for being the common source of a fatal heart attack
3:57 No its not. its a reference to a penny arcade comic.
the term "dead ringer" actually originates from when people were mistakenly buried alive, so people installed bells tied to a rope that led into the coffin, so that if you were buried alive, you could ring it. basically the dead ringer is used in the sense as being mistaken for dead.
