i wish i had as much endurance for running as i do hiking. yesterday i did a 20 mile hike which was EXHAUSTING but nice, but I don't think I could even run for 1 straight mile

Hi Patty! I was curious to know how your job in the defense industry is going! I'm a Physics major and am sort of grouped in with the engineering cohort in terms of job opportunities (I'm taking engineering courses for my upper division roster). How did you decide on the defense industry and were there any other jobs you were interested in pursuing initially? Hope your summer's going well! 🌻🌅
That’s a great question! I decided on defense just because I was offered a job right out of college and they also went through the process of getting me my security clearance which is super valuable in the engineering world (gives you a lot of options and job security) you could definitely find non defense companies that work on satellites or research space flights, or commercial airlines or things of that nature! For me the biggest thing was how “easy” it was to land a job in defense that lead me that way
But you’re 100% correct, I work with a lot of physics majors that do identical jobs as me, it’s super common! Also I love physics so that’s really cool
