Twitch failed to monitor private whispers that were designed for 18+. This means Twitch violated their rules first. If they had actually monitored, then nobody under 18 should have been allowed!

What’s the definition of minor in this case though? When I was 17 I was hooking up with a 26yr old but back then we didn’t have DMs and cell phones. In my state age of consent is 16 so it creates a legal double standard, a person can be underage for spicy pics or internet messages and send someone to prison but in person it’s completely legal to get your freak on. I guess my point is, specifics matter.

The only thing that matters here is what was said in those DM's and who initiated the sexual talk. There are no good grounds for anybody to initiate sexual talk with someone so much younger than themselves. But if the girls started it and doc sort of joined in I think that's a little different.

Unfortunately this is one side of the story and at that, redacted multiple times. It's disgusting this has taken place, yet he somehow is trying to make a silver lining out of it. Frankly the actions must have been egregious enough, despite his posturing of where he was going with said conversations for Twitch to take the action it did. Someone as polarizing as he was at the time to be shut down was doing more than having conversations "that sometimes leaned too much in the direction of being inappropriate". Personally, I gain and lose nothing from him. I feel bad for his family. That's a terrible thing to try to recover from. I feel bad for the many young fans who don't understand the extent of his actions and only are mad because he was cancelled. Hopefully he can turn his life around. Hopefully he can make peace with who he was and come out better on the other side. I hope the individual(s) these conversations happened with can move past this difficult chapter and lead fulfilling lives. Sucks that people we spend time endorsing and developing a relationship with in our time like we do with sports stars, movie icons, and streamers can sometimes sour on us like this. You feel betrayed, lied to, and cheated on as well. You lost money, time, and energy that could have been put to use on other things, but instead you wanted to support someone or something that used to make you feel good. I appreciate the content that you make Average. You seem like a truly genuine dude that I would hang out with and it's because of your honesty and ethics, it was one of the first things that drew me to your streams over other creators. Continue to do you and be a great role model, not only in the gaming world, but in the real world too.

This guy made mistakes, multiple across his career, and this one was the last drop. Now he's paying for it.

1. He stated that he and the studio came to a mutual agreement that he should step out.
This contradicts what the head of the studio tweeted. He said, and I quote: "If you inappropriately message a minor. I can not work with you. Period."
2. The head of the studio tweeted that before an official statement was even made. So people are in fact jumping to conclusions and throwing out labels.
Doc is not innocent here, but many other people were innocent when labels and rumors destroyed their life. Social media is in fact disgusting.

We don't even know what was sent or know if this was even related to him being unfaithful when he was "banned on Twitch" I've been a long-time fan of Dr. Disrespect and the fact that his wife is still by his side means she knew of these allegations beforehand. This was a matter only him and his wife should deal with, not the entire internet. For the Twitch Employees releasing this information tells me they all had a lot of hate for him and wanted him to self-destruct. I wouldn't wish this on my worst enemy.

We shouldn't have to tell people to avoid having inappropriate conversations with children. As an adult it should go without saying. Twitch rightfully banned him and the company definitely needs to move on without him if they want a future.
Twitch put out a post a few days before banning doc about permanently banning streamers for sexual misconduct, and no one put two and two together. Sucks because i can no longer support the guy.
