Yes vanilla mad this way is go good. You can continue adding beans and vodka shake and place back in a dark corner. I need to make som peppermint n cinnamon oil too!making lemonciello is good too!

I forgot in other states, liquor is sold in a grocery store. Here in Oregon, only beer & wine is in a grocery store, for something like vodka, we go to a liquor store.
If you just split the vanilla bean in half like you did & cover it in vodka without scraping the seeds out, works also…should be ready in 5-6 weeks. If it’s stored in a cool, dark place, it should last indefinitely, is my understanding.
I have done vanilla and some of the others.. not all of them!! Wow! This is awesome! I have made more vinegars than extracts! Thanks love this idea!

These are awesome gift ideas!! I am just starting to getting back to crafting. Due to a neck injury in a car accident looking down was not an option for years. Since surgery fusing my entire cervical bone area in my neck (7 levels) and dealing with miltiple other mrcival issues, after many yeats I am doing better. I am finally able to do things that I love. So I love some of these candle ideas!!
Love these DIY’s. The candles are stinking cute. When I made extracts I found doing the lemon , orange and lime; if you peel them upwards with the vegetable peeler you don’t get as much rind. That helps from getting a bitter taste. Hope that might help someone. Thank you, Kelly for always making my day. ❤❤❤
I will love trying these extracts for the first time. I grow mint and now I know how to enjoy it after summer is over. I will try other extracts as well for coffee, tea, and cookies. Coconut, almond, and the citrus flavors will be delicious.

Ugg. I know that was necessary and healthy for the plants but I don't know if I could be as brave as you and cut back all that beautiful growth. I so love your videos. I get so much inspiration. I am a total plant lover. I just visited my garden center yesterday and they have the limelight hydrangeas. I'm going back this week and going to purchase 2 along with a Carolina saffire spruce. One of the hydrangeas is a birthday gift for my mother but I'm so excited to get them and plant them.

I love making my own vanilla extract. I use rum or Bourbon. I've never made cinnamon however. We drink iced coffee almost all year and I'm thinking that cinnamon would be good to use.

I can’t believe I missed this extract video last year. Thanks for reposting it again. This is something that I will definitely do. I can’t wait to get all the supplies and make my own extracts.
I loved the candles. I will start looking for candles and make them for gifts. I start Christmas shopping in July, because I’m disabled and have a limited budget. I may be dressing up Dollar Tree candles for gifts, but that is fine. I have found some great gifts there before, especially for dirty Santa gifts.
I'd suggest watch Clement Family Farms vanilla extract series. There is alot of misinformation here. 1oz of beans to 8 oz of alcohol. Slice, cut into small pieces, shake everyday. Vacuum seal if you want it done in 2 months. VBK beans has a group that give you more accurate info.

I must say you don't look old enough to have a son his age.. You look amazing.. Oh and I do love your 4 legged babies.. I have a question about the extract.. Can all of these be made in smaller bottles instead of the 16 oz that you use.? If so do we use the same amount of ingredients? I want to make gifts for some senior ladies in my mobile home park who make bakery goods for the homeless.
