My early adult life was spent in the Covenant Church movement. My pastor was in the line of Charles Simpson, but we heard teachings from all of the 5 leaders. I do not regret one day that I spent there, and learned a lot about Christianity through their leadership. Were there events that might be questioned? Sure there were - humans were involved and we all make mistakes. But I know that, at least in my experience, the motives and intentions of the leaders were pure. Thank you brother Charles for your faithfulness and your leadership and your integrity.

I had a personal connection through Ken Sumrall, who was a spiritual father to me in the Lord. Both Charles and Ken had a remarkable relationship filled with love and mutual admiration as they grew older. The purpose of the interview was to learn directly from Brother Charles about the Charismatic Renewal Movement: how God moved, how they responded, what the fruit of their efforts was, and how they navigated the challenges within the traditional church during that time. At Brother Charles' leading, when I inquired about the "Shepherding Movement," he suggested I read the comprehensive study of the movement, "The Shepherding Movement," [ amzn.to/3CYFN6E ] which greatly prepared me for the interview and informed me of so much. It is a page-turner for sure. I highly recommend it to everyone who seeks wisdom from those who have gone before us and paid such a great price. It's much better to borrow wisdom than to buy it! I had numerous questions, and although the interview may have seemed long to others, I could have continued for much longer. Brother Charles was a joy to interview, and we had great fellowship. Eventually, we had to conclude the interview. I hold Brother Charles Simpson in the highest regard and honor. His wisdom, bestowed upon him by the Lord, surpasses my ability to measure, and he was remarkably open in answering all my inquiries. This interview was the first and only time he had discussed these matters. The Lord led me to sense deep within my spirit that a similar move of the Holy Spirit will occur again, and I desired to be as prepared as possible for it. Brother Charles' wisdom greatly assisted me, and if God allows me to be part of what He has planned next, the wisdom I gained will be invaluable. Since God personally spoke to me and revealed the forthcoming move of God, which I shared on our channel, one of the things He made clear was, "It will be the 1970s Again!" [ bit.ly/3O1Ig6E ] That era was when Brother Charles, Brother Ken, and many others were actively involved in the move.
