Would've been nice if you introduced the hardware and what you were trying to achieve at the start of the video. Wasn't sure what I was looking at until the end. Also, you're going very fast. Would be nice to give the user a little bit of time to absorb what was said/shown before you move on to the next topic. Interesting integration, though.

Hello Kurt, tried to recreate this communication using CodeSys 3.5, it works whenever I enable or disable a port forwarding to a UDP port (not necessarily the one I'm using), other than that I get no response on the UDP Node. I mean, if I start my controller and do not cause any change on a port, my node won't respond to anything. Any suggestions on what to do to keep the UDP node "alive" at all times?

I can read the values of the variables but not write them. Also I can't keep the same port number for reading and writing, it tells me the port is already in use.
    Help me please

i used wago community forum and he mentioned there that for the receiving and transmitting on netvars have to use different ports.

Nice tutorial , I tried it with codesys 3.5.16 running on a raspberry Pi target, are this node supposed to work too with other target than Wago? I couldn’t get any status display below the net at receive node nor anything coming on the payload. How to debug?

No clue from where to take it but it looks like wherever you install NR you get 861089024. But when you use 2970419 on NR, You will be able to receive on WAGO. Use 2970419 and it works!

interesting use of network variable list. I got a question about NVL for another usage. Is it possible to use NVL for automatic detection of new "nodes"/PLCs connected to the network? Such that the new node is broadcasting some announcement with its IP such that the other nodes can add the node to a regular modbus-tcp communication? For instance if you have a modular machine and you can add another module without any reprogramming because the new module is announcing itself untill it's aknowledged by a master for instance?
Also, how will this UDP-broadcasting load the network doing a broadcast every 50ms like you did here?

Where did you get the ID-Number for the NetVars node in Node-Red? I am stuck at this point right now. Cant find the corresponding information in my NVL_1- List. Tryed all the HEX-Values but did not work. Can you tell me where to find this ID in e!COCKPIT?
Can you maybe also send me or post in this video-description the JSON of your final "project"? Would be verry kind of you.

Thanks for the nice lib. I added the ability to receive arrays. How can I send a pull request? I also want add structs, but I'm still thinking how. I have an idea. But let's see...

That's why there is a pause button ;)
If he keeps all that stuff in something like this would be a 40 minute video 🥱I love the speediness of it. You don't need to waste time watching stuff that you already know and you can just pause or rewind if you need a bit of time to try something out or to absorb everything that's happening on screen.
