Being a Polish citizen, living in my own country, I wish I could have attended this meeting in person. I can’t, but it’s not any less real to me to watch this video. Rachel Maddow captures how our world works in a way I haven’t seen yet among well known people (her depth and systematic thinking is more like academics). At the same time, for anyone who speaks English, her work is presented so clearly and with all the necessary precision... It’s just fantastic! ❤️ Funny that she doesn’t realize how emotionally stirring her show is to the so called ordinary people. She brings passion back to journalism, and it’s a positive one. Love her and her work (style + ethics).

Being a Canadian of Polish descent, who cannot help but be interested in what is happening both in Europe and in North America, and especially in Russia and the U.S., it is people like Rachel who give me hope, and oh, how badly we need hope these days.
Returning to this event now, almost a year after Russia started a full-scale war against Ukraine, and two years after Trump tried to stage a coup in the U.S., is eerie. There are a handful of people who saw what was happening, investigated, and wrote and warned us about it. People like Rachel, Timothy Snyder, and a handful of others. Their warnings have "aged" very well. They will be seen as true classics. Like George Orwell warning us with _Homage to Catalonia_ that the Soviets are no great friends of the opposition to fascism, more than a year before the Hitler-Stalin pact, before the outbreak of the Second World War that they planned together. Similarly, Rachel's work (including her recent _Ultra_ podcast), and Snyder's _On Tyranny_ and _The Road to Unfreedom_ (and his online course on the History of Ukraine) are the immediately recognizable "classics". They provide the historical context and insight that make our age understandable, they warn us of where some want to take us, and give us the strength and vision to direct our societies towards a better future.

Maddow never checks facts as she is part of the democratic propaganda WOKE supporters. Our country is spiraling down and losing its once place as a world leader. Our internal political corruption over the years has stripped our middle class selling out to big business. Now they are trying to turn our once great republic into a socialist country. Fact check anything she says as she twists, edits and lies.

All I can say is she is brilliant. It amazes me when news is breaking like crazy and she can just go right into it and connect it for us viewers.

@@annsmith185 With the avalanche of disturbing news hitting us daily, it is comforting to know that Rachel presents us with clear, concise and logical explanations with documented and/or visual proof. I rely on her and a very few select others to connect the dots and present the NEWS, uncluttered and real. Her little touches of humor, here and there, satisfy my need to be brought into a little calmer world. I agree, Ann. She is brilliant and so much more.
I love Rachel. She does her research and gives us all a great lesson like a professor. I have gained so much knowledge from listening to her every night at 9p. She is a great asset to MSNBC and I am more knowledgeable from listening to her. I am a paralegal, but have learned so much more from listening to some of the journalists on MSNBC than in all the 48 years I have spent in any law firm. Thank you Rachel. And then Lawrence is the closer who is gives a lesson on how the House/Senate works. Lots of lessons learnt by these two journalists than paying all that money going to college.

You call it a Russian “conspiracy”. Well, we call it the way Russia does business in the world, i.e. via corrupting influence, fear and despotism.
Calling it a conspiracy does not make it so.
You can hop up and down and screech “Russian Conspiracy” but you’re trying to influence people that know very well who Rachel Maddow is. She is a highly intelligent woman who is an accomplished investigative reporter/ journalist, and ultimately an amazing storyteller*. She is a real superhero to me.
* and by storyteller, I mean that she puts in the time, and she does the leg work, and deep research of the subject, and she then deciphers, interprets, analyses, and synthesises the complexity of that self same data, so that she is able to convey the core and related truth, using facts and useful information, in a way that draws us in, keeps us rapt and hungry for further understanding ourselves.
I’m not surprised she wanted to be an activist. She may not have envisioned that her contribution to society would be via media, but she is actually, through and through, an activist that inspires many women (and men) to be better versions of themselves, myself included.
Instead of working in a troll farm why don’t you join the movement. The white might right cannot stop what is coming, no matter how much they try. That boat has sailed. Join us instead. There is hope, where we are going.

Your cynicism of both left and right, for want of a better comparison, plays exactly into what the conservative right wants, which is the fracture of the liberal side into as many smaller factions as possible
While viewing the world through a sceptical, and oft wit-biased, possibly unintentional pejorative lens, may seem to be a quintessential and proud British attitude/ tradition (an observation from me, and yes, I know, not every Brit), it doesn’t actually help to bring together liberal democrats who ultimately have similar goals for furthering our progress/ development. What it does instead, is fracture us into siloed groups, sniping at each other, while those on the right group together as unrelenting forces, using fear, bigotry and greed, focussed on the keeping us stationery, or worse, moving backwards.

Call me an ignorant toady (you have) simply because I’m not so cynical that I cannot see a genuine “mensch” who is a professional investigative reporter with a bias of activism, who is bent on uncovering the truth, while showing genuine empathy, and who happens to have pride in her country’s ideals (ideals, not necessarily how the US actually comports itself).
Rachel Maddow has never hidden her beliefs as a democrat and liberal. In fact she seems to wear her heart on her sleeve, which I find refreshing. She isn’t perfect, but who is? She has made mistakes. She has been duped before. Who hasn’t been? We are all imperfect humans doing the best we can. Still, I admire her resolve and backbone, in using her platform to further liberal narratives.
The Rachel Maddow Show is not a conventional news programme, you can find the succinct and “balanced” news elsewhere. What it does do is go in-depth into topical issues which are worth the research, to enlighten us as to the motivation that has brought us to this point of the news she is reporting on. You may call it a conspiracy theory, simply because being so meticulous and persistent may uncover the point of origin of the story, which may be a person, or an organisation, or neither, in the end. I don’t.
To me a conspiracy theory is one perpetrated and perpetuated by special interest groups who mix just enough truth, some “mythology” and a lot of faulty thinking, combined with outright lies, with no rigour or burden of proof, to push unlikely, unproven, and honestly, unrealistic and fantastic conclusions, with the purpose of seduction, diversion, profit even, and ultimately wasting the time of the consumer of that media, keeping consumers brains recycling fear and division. Think illuminati, think pizza-gate, think gay frogs, etc., etc. .../3
angrykulla 3/. I’m not an American fan, and although most of us have grown up being fed the American propaganda machine, it is not the only country using propaganda to influence and “mould” minds. Anti-US propaganda does it too. Was it a factor growing up in the 1970’s/ 1980’s? Yes, it was. This was a time where countries were not only physically distant from each other, but communication and the dispersal of information was as well. Today, information has been democratised, and is available at our fingertips. Misinformation’s not new, but it is certainly more sophisticated.
I think the USA comports itself as an imperialist power (even though constitutionally, and in its heart, it has other ideals), who are arrogant and seem to believe they have a right to tell other countries how to run their affairs, and it is precisely their meddling and arrogance that has caused the backlash that formed Al Qaeda, and later ISIS, and now, following this bumbling fool and his administration, who knows what is being birthed at this very moment?
The only reason so many people from cultures relatively unknown by western “powers” before 9/11 are looking for new, safe homes to raise their families, is that their displacement, is, at its core, American made (with the USA’s allies). Prior to that, Great Britain was the major contributor to immigrant flows. Not only GB of course, all the main colonial powers contributed, including Portugal, which is why I am a white African.
There is no need for you to pity me. I have many sources who inform my beliefs. Perhaps I’m right, perhaps you are right, perhaps neither of us is correct, if there is such a thing in this topic. However, if we are to achieve peace and harmony, as humans, we must accept that we are diverse, and that includes the media. Maddow has her beliefs, perhaps her eyes are blinkered on some issues, but she is young and we all start off idealistically, and then evolve, hopefully without bitterness and cynicism towards the “other”. Bitter hate against what someone else believes, is totally non-productive. As humans, we may be diverse, but we also have a lot in common. Mostly this should be our humanity, but for now, at the very least it should be understanding that we all need the same things for survival.
While I am a believer of capitalism, I am not a believer of unfettered capitalism. Unfettered capitalism is my term for capitalism with no limits. No regulation, no checks and balances, no empathy, no regard for the environment, including us, who are part of the environment, etc. I am not a true socialist. I believe that leads to dogmatism and authoritarianism, and unfettered capitalism has shown that it leads to that too. I don’t really believe there are perfect governance systems, but there are hybrid systems that work fairly well. The portion of America that isn’t only holding itself (America) back, but is now holding us all back, is this archaic, poisonous/ toxic belief in unfettered capitalism. Capitalism without reins, you could say.
Hating unfettered capitalism does not mean you tar everyone with the same brush. If the market decides Maddow, and her qualities/ skills, have a value of $10 million, then so be it. The market has spoken. If millions buy her book or millions watch her show, to the point of making her very, very wealthy, is it her fault, or is it the fault of millions who value her opinion, and her erudite distillation of truth into well crafted storytelling? I believe it is neither. These are simply market forces in play. Of course there is marketing, of course there is advertising by unscrupulous corporates, but the MSM has to exist in the reality we exist in. Is she unscrupulous in her marketing of her book, her show? I don’t think so. Ultimately, she needs a place to broadcast her offering to the widest audience possible. After all, she is competing against Fox, Breitbart, misinformation, etc. .../4

She is simply at the top of her profession. I love listening to her news and commentary every day .. and when she is off for the day .. I am really disappointed ! I always feel like I can trust what she is saying .. and she goes deep into the stories explaining the background .. filling in the blanks Also .. she presents stories that other programs are not even covering ...

He deliberately omitted that he was working/being paid by foreign goverments while working for the Trump administration. Then after being fired/resigning (after only 18 days of work), he retroactively reported that he worked for a foreign government.
That is illegal for a military officer, UNLESS he had prior approval. In his case, he didn't have prior approval before getting on the payroll of a foreign government.

Rachel is my go to for news in the USA. She tells it like it is. Got the audio book, read by Rachel. Got to be the best non-fiction in my rather extensive collection. Have ordered hard copies for several people and donated one to my local library. They tell me there is a long waiting list for it. Not bad for a small town in "Outback" Australia.

I just watched this. I was introduced to Rachel Maddow on MSNBC by a friend that also insisted I start watching Chris Hayes. I am always drawn to "inquiring intellect", particularly when associated with the value of good government. Since June 2015 to January 20, 2017 through January 20, 2021 was a total DRAIN for me, a person that's studied the American Presidency (good & bad). I have greatly appreciated the views of Ms. Maddow because she informs, supports, clarifies and encourages people to PAY ATTENTION. Lately, because of my community activity, I've had to wait till daytime to review the programs from the night before. My friend would text me stating, "OMG - please tell me you're watching Rachel Maddow!" (I lie to offer I'm unable due to my location.) The value of a free thinking investigative person seeking the facts through the muck of fantasy illusions of self-promoting mini-minds of "alphabet following" twits in the forest of illusions of their own making is such an asset to ANY free democratic society is so high it can't be fully measured. Thank you for being a contributing member of a THINKING humanity!

When my grandchildren were born 2 years ago, I started gathering the stories of women, their experiences, their history, etc. I wanted them to have women heroes of all kinds, white women, women of color, women from other cultures, & of course, trans women as well. One interesting constant is that men often are pretty confident about themselves & women are surprised that people love them, love their work, love their contributions. Rachel is like that, one of the very best in her chosen field & yet, so sure that she's not doing that well.

Conversely, the less intelligent someone is the less likely they are to question their own competence...hence the frequency of swaggering idiots and self-effacing geniuses. Rachel you are one of top of the line investigative reporters. The team you have are phenomenal.
Rachel has the incredible gift of being able to disseminate information in a way that is both informative and and easy to comprehend. While she takes on the big(gest) issues, I'm sure MANY, like myself, are always far better informed when we turn off the TV. Perhaps most importantly, she refrains from hyperbole. I really appreciate that!

Its easier to do an interview than a show and its easier to see, who the person is in an interview and she never fails to impress. Detractors will always rear their ugly heads in this corrosive climate.
Rachel is often wrong and always hideously pedantic. 9 million a year in salary is a hilarious way to allocate resources. She is beholden to her paycheck; she would never step out of line for the truth.
Rachel is my higher power and a rock star for whom I am a groupie! I love this woman so much. I was never interested in politics, history etc. (all the things she talks about in her show) but since December 2016 I've become an avid student in all of the above, making her my favorite "professor". I will see her in person one day and I'm psyched that the crowd of 4000 got to see her and it seems I'm in good company as a groupie 😄
Rachel is a fact machine combined with the skills of an investigator and a great collaborator. Working together with other great journalists; she interprets the findings to keep us all better informed. As I listen to her, it's easy to add up everything I hear on all the different news outlets. She may someday receive a prize for her work. Keep up the tremendous work!
